About The Gate Marylebone
At The Gate, we love making wonderful food and exceeding our customers’ expectations. We create inspiring vegetarian and vegan food for everyone to enjoy time and time again. Our goal is to share the infinite possibilities of experiencing and enjoying plant-based food.
We do our best to grow sustainably and adapt to the needs of the community. We currently have 4 restaurants in London – in St John’s Wood, Marylebone, Islington, and Hammersmith.
At The Gate Marylebone, we serve lunch and dinner everyday, and brunch every weekend.
Went for my birthday had a delicious meal, service was excellent and the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely very calm and intimate. Would recommend to everyone
We had a lovely evening. The food was particularly FAB.
Great tasting food, smoothies and cocktails.
Good food. Service was a little slow but the waitress apologised for that.
Very appetising & well presented food- interesting combinations of flavours. My white wine could have been better chilled and the glasses were a bit clunky but no major quibbles really ! Very enjoyable evening!
Superb range of dishes Delightful service
The noise level in the restaurant was outrageously loud.I had the aubergine schnitzel. I thought it was well presented and attractive, but I make better at home. The service was outstanding. I sampled two chocolate deserts which were excellent. I will not return because of the noise level. You just really need to do something to baffle the noise.
even thou we had a reservation at 6:30 we were told that our reservation was at 6:00 so he cannnot give us a table even thou the ground floor was half empty and downstairs was totally empty . we felt they were showing off that the the place is something special . It’s just a hype of veganism . Never again to this outrageous place .
We used the time out offer which was good value and with only one vegan amongst 6 of us all enjoyed the meal.
Never fails to disappoint
All great food and service. The aubergine starter is incredible and the peanut brownie was amazing I would just like to say that I think more wines should be by the glass. You should also promote the loyalty scheme more as staff didn’t know anything about it.
Great meal thanks
Great food, lovely atmosphere
We just loved it. The staff were very friendly and while efficient didn't put us under any pressure to get a move on with ordering and the food was just brilliant. Only comment I would make is that the desserts were huge - too big by far and because of that they sort of overpowered the best bit which is what the restaurant is all about - the fantastic starters and mains.
We ate on the £30 meal deal- 3 courses an a glass of prosecco. This makes it very reasonable. I not using a deal, then The Gate always feels expensive.
The food and service were both excellent.
Thank you. We had a lovely time celebrating our daughter's birthday. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening and you made us feel very special.
Some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had! I absolutely loved the Wild Mushroom Risotto Cake. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic even two of my sceptical friends loved the food.
Great service. Restaurant menu is a little light but a great experience for first time to a vegetarian restaurant.
I'm a frequent visitor to The Gate, mostly at the Hammersmith and Marylebone branches. The atmosphere downstairs is unpleasant, the space is tired, the walls are dirty (we sat near what look liked the door to the kitchen or cupboard) the furniture is old, stained menu and wobbly table. So it felt really cheap, especially in comparison to the Hammersmith branch. As always, the service and food was spectacular.
Very long wait but amazing food and feeling
All jolly nice, and delivered with friendly service. I felt the seasoning was not perfect, but then, what is? A little salt, fresh lemon and cracked black pepper here and there would have added another layer of enhancement. In my opinion (and that's all this is) the wild mushroom risotto cake would have benefited from the merest hint of chilli and the three onion tart would have loved to nuzzle up against a small dipping bowl of yoghurt with chives.
I don't think there were enough waiting staff on & we felt like we had to get the waiter's attention before being served, on several occasions.
