The Garlic Farm Restaurant serves high quality, garlic inspired dishes using locally sourced Island ingredients wherever possible. Serving breakfast and lunch daily, the restaurant is located at the foot of Mersley Downs at the famous Garlic Farm near the village of Newchurch on the Isle of Wight. The farm has its own shop selling a vast array of garlicky products and local produce and locally made gifts as well as providing access to farmland and woodland via farm walks and tours. At The Garlic Farm restaurant you can sample the best garlicky food in beautiful farm surroundings with friendly service, fully licensed bar and excellent views across the valley. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas, a large grass lawn and children's play park in view of the restaurant. Farm animals including our herd of Highland cattle, horse, chickens and goats all roam in fields close by. The Garlic Farm Restaurant has various awards including being 'Local Gem' in the 2020 Good Food Guide and winning best Gastronomic experience on the Isle of Wight in 2019 and voted Best Restaurant 2020 in the Red Funnel My Isle of Wight Awards.
We look forward to welcoming you to the farm.
Lovely setting and very nice breakfast
What a treat for the first time in over a year we were able to eat out. Food was gorgeous and service was first class. Everything was done to make us feel safe. Thankyou Garlic Farm.
Service was great, very friendly and polite. Beautiful outside seating and the food was delicious! I ordered the lamb burger and it was the best I’ve ever had!
Tip top fare and charming staff Excellent as always
Excellent food, great qulity
Staff were helpful and polite. Well laid out and felt safe.
I choose the Ploughmans for lunch - it was fabulous ! One of the best I've ever had. Staff were friendly and efficient. Booked again for lunch - twice in 4 days says it all.
Great food as always
The Garlic Farm restaurant is always a family favourite place to go to when I visit my daughter who lives in Winford. It was a lovely afternoon, sitting in the gardens. The food was very nice and the service was excellent. The waitresses were all very cheerful.
A very relaxing lunch in the sun. Staff were all very friendly, food vey tasty. Ploughman’s lunch was really good.
We booked a table for 3:15. We ordered food and after some minutes decided to order something else, when we were told the kitchen was already closed (they closed at 3:30). It is ok to close the kitchen but they should have warned us to order everything we wanted because they were about to close. They didnt inform us and we felt really frustrated, because at the end we we were hungry. Another minor issue was that the only vegan option was over, the chef prepared an alternative dish but it was clearly less food than the original one.
Nice for family
Breakfast was delicious. We bought goodies from the shop and even our 3 year old wanted to go back the next day!!!
Great food - we visited for breakfast, excellent. Great service, friendly staff. Good set-up for Covid restrictions, we visited on day 3 after lockdown, really well done.
In comparison to other offerings nearby, I felt The Garlic Farm traded more on the novelty value of its garlic themed product range than outright quality of food and cookery. Pricing seemed ambitious, especially for the small/light bites, with high separate charges for any bread to accompany it. Children's portions also attracted a relatively high price. While not exactly scenic, seating outside (under cover) was pleasant enough and the bits of additional entertainment for kids on the grass appreciated. Service was effective and friendly. It's the balance of food/cookery quality, quantity, and price that needs tweaking.
Food was fantastic, my only complaint would be that the service was a tad slow, however I believe this was due to lack of staff as they were all running around mad. Having said that the were all extremely friendly and helpful when they got to us. Will defiantly be back on our next trip to the island.
Our party of 6 adults/4 children were really impressed by the ‘experience’ of The Garlic Farm - we did a ‘reverse’ tour (one of the children decided that would be fun!) of the fields, followed by a delicious lunch. This was served al fresco - obviously in this Covid era - but we were blessed with the sun! Good proportions and quick service. The other plus is that the 9am opening hour meant we didn’t have to hang around for breakfast elsewhere at the all too frequent 10am. Thoroughly recommended- even for non-garlic people!
We had the most delicious meal at the garlic farm - the slow cooked beef and camenbert platter were amazing. The set up outdoors was brilliant and service great. have already recommended to friends.
We had a fantastic time during our visit to the garlic farm. Picturesque dining and The food was just perfect ! the range of garlic produce in the shop was extensive. I couldn’t fault the staff and they gave us a friendly welcoming atmosphere To enjoy. We will return for sure next time we visit the island.
What a pleasant find, a very nice setting, a lovely relaxing feeling and a very nice breakfast, we will be visiting again when we come back
When we first walked in we were greeted by a lovely lady who went through the covid restrictions with us, unfortunately it didn’t last, the table waiters were not so fourth coming & seemed like it was the last place they wanted to be. The food was good, although thought £2 for one slice of bacon was a little much.
Utterly brilliant, safe and so tasty!
As regular visitors to the Garlic Farm we were excited to eat there again. All the food was tasty and excellent service. We will be returning.
Lovely lunch and good service. Think you should add a plain burger to the menu as the pulled pork is just a bit too flavoursome for me / children
One of our favourite & most visited places on the Island, we love the food, the walk, the football pitch & play park, but mostly the amazing food! Lovely sunny warm spot.
