About The Game Bird at The Stafford London
The Game Bird is a contemporary tale about relaxed, informal dining any time of the day. A place to eat, drink and socialise, the focus is on modern British comfort cooking executed with style and panache, all wrapped in a seductive ambience that oozes cool sophistication.
Meeting two friends for lunch we could not have chosen anywhere better. The staff, the food, the elegance and comfort of The Game Bird was perfect in every way. We sat and enjoyed the meal and talked for hours and were made to feel so welcome We had the most lovely time. Thank you.
Great service and venue. Decided to try the vegan menu. Main course was great. Unfortunately the starter was very poor! I left it pretty much untouched, I imagine most do! Staff very good. The sommelier a real star. Merry Christmas
A fantastic experience
I love this beautiful hotel. Especially at Christmas. Had Xmas menu on Wednesday, very good as always and value for money. Will be back again before Christmas.
Service was slow at times - I felt ignored. I felt the staff wanted to joke with each other rather than provide the bill. It took 30 mins before I got to order food
The Gamebird restaurant at The Stafford is one of the best in London! I must go there every time I am in town!
Great hotel and restaurant hidden away in central London. Fantastic food and beverages and we were made very welcome. Pretty pricey though!
One of the best Thanksgiving dinners we have ever eaten! Every dish was subtly flavoured but also very satisfying. For once, a pecan pie that wasn't too sweet (next year pumpkin - please). The general menu at the restaurant was also intriguing as I don't cook much game. Hope to come back for lunch after the New Year to try one or two of the dishes.
A superb evening from start to finish. On a very busy night, I was given a warm welcome and an excellent table in the American Bar where we were served efficiently and graciously. Later, my friend and I shared a delicious Venison Wellington followed by Crepes Suzette. Service was so discreet as to be almost invisible. The Stafford remains a bastion of elegance and charm without being pretentious and stuffy. A final bill in excess of £400 for 2 of us was more our own fault for over indulgence rather than excessive prices for the food and wine..
A very enjoyable time and I would certainly book again when in London
A fantastic afternoon tea experience. The service was impeccable, as was the delicious food. Thank you!
Such a delightful place. Which we often go to. We felt they had changed chefs who had little understanding of a traditional Thanksgiving meal. They kindly changed our dessert to tart Tatin as neither of us like pumpkin pie. It did not resemble any tart tatin I have ever had. We will go back to see if it was an anomalie. So unlike the Stafford. The kind well meaning waitstaff and Maitre need a bit of training.
All staff absolutely delightful. The table for 6 in the alcove was perfect for us. The food was uniformly very good and the wines excellent. All in all a very enjoyable evening.
We had a superb afternoon tea, served by knowledgable friendly staff. Highly recommend
Visited for Sunday lunch. Service was extremely slow. We waited 30 minutes to order drinks and then I had to go find a waiter. Tried to order a glass of wine from the drinks list (not wine list) but was told a sommelier would need to be summoned to take that order, which was ridiculous and added even further waiting time. Things improved once we were at our table though. The Sunday lunch was excellent and the wines, although expensive, were excellent.
Fantastic food. Wonderful staff
Just and Amazing experience
Took 3 mails and 1 call to get the reservation correct even though all information were in my first mail. Ordered for two people, cakes were for 1 and we had to cut all three of them in two pieces ourselves?! The ham is a cheap pressed version, not eatable. Service = one person seated us and asked if we wanted something more/else than tea to drink, we got the tray with everything and when asking what we got, the reply was that all is stated in the menu. 125£ later we left with a sour feeling.
Really relaxed atmosphere.Certainly plenty to eat! My only criticism is that the tea got cold in the pot but that's probably because we stayed so long as it was such a welcoming environment. Would definitely visit again. Thank you for a splendid afternoon.
Excellent, food service very good. One point the ham terrine should have bee allowed to warm up a touch
My mother and I had an incredible experience at The Game Bird! The staff could not have been more kind or accommodating and the atmosphere was just incredible. It was a great evening as a special treat during my mother's and my trip to London.
Fantastic Sunday Roast
A really lovely Sunday lunch on every level. Please do thank Luis who at the news on the way out gave us a warm welcome/ farewell and a very helpful mini tour of the hotel's successes and developments . A nice touch to end a memorable visit . Thank him and you. I ll be back! All the glories of a Grand Hotel Sunday Lunch experience without the pretensions or the inflated prices!
The staff were very attentive and welcoming and the restaurant itself has a fashionable and relaxed atmosphere. The food was beautifully presented and rich in flavours and style. Lots of people were enjoying afternoon tea which looked equally lovely. Great location and very easy to get to. It was a lovely dining experience and look forward to visiting again.
