About The Funky Bear Tamworth
Quirky yet slick, blending classic with the modern.Bringing Gastro delights made from fresh ingredients.
Table was booked at 7.45pm. Had to ask where our meals were at 9.15!!! They arrived shortly after and were Cold. Complained, twice. Won't be going again. Very dissapointing Christmas meal.
Service was good, food was nice. Weird thing with the chips. They were mostly good but some were hot and some where cold. Waitress looked after us well. It was quiet as it was early lunch so not much atmosphere but we weren’t bothered. I’d go again.
Had great time as normal but one thing I would say is I had the 10oz ribeye with the chips, the steak was fantastic but the chips tasted exactly like ones I’d get from a chip shop and not the crispy triple cooked chips I was expecting. The staff were very attentive and we had an enjoyable time we will book again .... sorry for the constructive criticism
Will defo be back, loved the decore and lovely welcomig felt nice and cosy. Food was nice too look foward to trying new specials
Great food, and a lovely table in a corner to ourselves
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give some constructive feedback. I have always received a great service from this establishment but unfortunately on this particular occasion I was very disappointed. As my husband and I were accompanied by friends we did not want to make a scene so decided to just pay our bill and leave. Our drinks order was lost, informed 20 minutes later. 2nd round of drinks were incorrect. Our waitress was not pleasant and made me feel that she did not want to represent the establishment. Food arrived but some of the order was incorrect so our one guest had to wait whilst we carried on eating. I will say that apologies were issued but as I know others who no longer go to The Funky Bear I thought my feedback may trigger some staff training and review. I have lived in Dosthill for 15 years and seen many companies try to run this venue which have all failed. It would be such a shame if The Funky Bear is added to this list! The venue is fabulous, love the decor and the atmosphere is great. Regards Elizabeth Pendleton
Not impressed...nice decor, shame about the food, so greasy and tasteless. Premium price to pay for below average food, won’t be visiting again.
When we arrived we got shown to our table, after 15 minutes no one had come to get our drinks order so we went to the bar to order them When they bought the drinks over we had to ask for them to take the food order. Food took ages to come out but was delicious when it did come out After we’d eaten our main we waited again and had to find someone to take our orders for deserts and clear the table Although the food was lovely, the service was appalling considering how quiet the pub was
Very disappointed with our meals. The kebabs were served cold and had to be sent back. The burger was so rare it was bleeding and had to be sent back. My sons kebab was sent back 3 times - cold, cold and then burnt. In the end he didn’t have a meal. The service was poor and very slow. Waited an hour for starters! The manager advised the whole meal was complimentary as we had so many issues. The owner disagreed and reduced the bill by 50% even though we hadn’t really eaten anything. He was rude, scruffy and couldn’t understand why we thought the food was cold as he had touched it... yuk! Don’t waste your money, go elsewhere....😡
Main courses took nearly an hour to arrive. We would've appreciated being warned on arrival, so we could order a starter. But you pulled it back by giving us my sons main course and dessert FOC. Will give you another try, based on discount being applied without us having to complain.
Food was good but had to wait two hours for the food
First time visitors & will definitely be returning
Food was very poor was like a dogs dinner over priced loads of it very poor quality very random mix’s aswell waffles peri peri chicken lettuce and maple syrup dose not go the only thing good about this restaurant is music on the promotion Video
Food was Poor quality. I had the roast beef, whole plate was dry and mostly inedible. My wife had the hanging kebab which was dry, tough and cold. My sons pasta was over cooked. We Complained and was offered 10% off the bill (£4.95). £16 for 2 slices of dry beef, frozen roast potatoes, dry hard Yorkshire pudding, 3 parsnips and 4 small carrot batons mixed with leek is an absolute disgrace. I could have had better quality for less money at a backstreet pub... AWFUL
Initially service was brilliant, starter was lovely all went down hill when the mains came out, asked for steak medium both came out rare they were sent back same piece of steak cooked whilst out side went cold. Desserts came out missing half the dish, asked for the bill and waited 15 minutes - eventually went to the bar to pay made our complaints and had an apology but not offer of a discount on our meal which quite frankly was substandard.
Fantastic place:) delicious food :) I recommend:)
Lovely food. Staff was good but the food was so slow to come out. We had to ask where it was having to wait nearly an hour for our main meal!! When it come out all the meal were lovely and great value for money but just need to speed it up. It wasn’t over busy so not too sure why the delay!
This was our 2nd time we have visited the Funky Bear,. We had a most enjoyable evening g with friends. Food was good , service was very good, the choice of beers we felt was poor with the pedigree ale quite warm and tepid, restaurant was very quiet so lacked a bit of atmosphere. Overall quite satisfied with everything from online booking through to enjoying s nice meal.
First of all the service was appalling. The staff were not friendly and looked as if they didn't want to be there. And then the food was extremely over priced as my £18 burger came looking very simple with shop bought coleslaw, pale chips and the Grizzy burger was very over grilled and dry. The service took ages throughout the whole experience and if it wasn't for the fact that we had not eaten in hours, we would have left it, and I didn't want to waste £18. The only positive all night was the deduction off the bill as I gave the staff the feedback. I would rather have a great meal and experience and pay full price. We will 100% never return again as I can't trust it will ever change. So disappointing.
Food took over an hour to arrive and was average at best. Over priced for the quality of food.
Good was lovely but service wasn't great. We were seated behind a pillar and everyone forgot we were there....
Our first time to funky bears, nachos starter wasn't hot enough to fully melt the cheese , but was still edible and tasty , we had the grizzly stacked burger and the funky bear burgers , these were absolutely beautifully cooked and very filling , we followed with chocolate peanut brownie and raspberry cheesecake, again beautifull . We were seated behind a pillar and was out of sight of staff , so left waiting a while between meals . We will return again for a meal .
Food was good, the service however was appalling. I think you forgot you have guests to look after.
Music was too loud we had to ask for it to be turned down during our meal Service was ok but no one checked if we wanted more drinks. We had to call someone over and request more drinks
We came at the end of busy Sunday lunch service. Table was booked for 2.45. We were seated very quickly and order was taken by 3pm. Then nothing happened. We sat there till 3.40 before food appeared. I appreciate it was post Sunday Lunch but there were a lot of staff and out wait was not acknowledged. We were sat at the round table by the front door by the seat and greater. Staff kept congregating and chatting which made our wait worse. If someone had just said "so sorry about your wait. We're playing catch up from a busy lunch". Then it would have been much better. Food was great when it did arrive, just a shame about the service...
