About The Fritton Arms
The Fritton Arms is the resort hub serving a wholesome seasonal estate menu masterminded by our talented chefs. Boasting eight charming, individually decorated rooms, restaurant and a well stocked bar with pool table and other diversions, the pub also has a fine terrace to the south and roaring fires through the winter making it a friendly and relaxed place to stay.
The atmosphere is relaxed but the kitchen is serious - with operations run by our highly acclaimed team of chefs. The bar keeps a fine and changing collection of local ales, so there’ll always be something new to try.
A wonderful, comfortable break spent at the Fritton Arms. From sampling the wide choice of gins in front of the fire, to a delicious seasonal dinner, followed by a quiet and most comfortable night, a huge breakfast followed by a long walk we had an excellent stay. Thank you
Great meal and great service throughout. Thanks
An excellent venue with superb service and great food !
Finally somewhere lovely to visit near Gorleston!
Meal & Evening was wonderful.we will definitely be coming back. Just a couple of minor things you may wish to consider. My partner had the Chowder for her main &very nice too,but would of been nice to have an option of some fresh bread on the table with this course. The other small digression - no biscuit with the coffee's after the meal. I know these are very small observations but as they say,it's the small things that can make or break.
Lovely weekend away here. Service, accomodation and atmosphere is excellent!
Myself and my daughter had a truly lovely meal, food was delicious and the service was excellent, we are both vegetarian and it is nice to eat such a lovely veggie meal. We will be back!
Had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch with friends, food was excellent.
A live Jazz trio were playing on Sunday afternoon and the atmosphere and music were great as was the food. We have dined here before and were married here too (2012) and will be back again soon.
A true dining experience :-)
Visited on Saturday afternoon for lunch all seemed a bit haphazard service wise. The staff seemed all over the place and overwhelmed as it was busy. Food ok nothing special.
Since our last visit the restaurant has changed. The food & service is good but the area now resembles a clubhouse with a pool table in one corner & one family playing cards at their table.
We were lucky enough to win a raffle prize of a 3 course meal for two and this was our first visit to you. The service was relaxed and lovely and the food was delicious and beautifully served. A little out of our price range for normal days but we will certainly be back for special celebrations. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Please make the front door clearer
There’s no doubt that the food served is of a very high standard, however, given the casual vibe, we thought there could be one or two slightly less expensive or simpler menu choices. On arrival, although we had booked,we were left waiting without any acknowledgement at all whilst a staff member rushed about, appearing to sort out a problem. An ‘I will be with you in a moment’ would have sufficed! In general, there seemed to be staffing issues, with the hotel receptionist serving our desserts, commenting that she didn’t know what the desserts were; had never waited on but had had them thrust in her hands and asked to get them to us! The constant through flow of people from outside coming in and the positiion of our table in a rather dark area, seemed at odds with the price diners pay. To sum up, although food is of a high quality and enjoyable, there is a mismatch between price, ‘target consumer’ and ambience, with diners perhaps expecting better value for money.
Sitting by the window we were constantly disturbed by wasps.
Sunday lunch is my favourite, but the food is good every day of the week
In summary, very poor. We booked half board for one night. Dinner....lobster risotto made with normal rice instead of Arborio.... fish & chips, fish overcooked and tasteless. Attic family room is fine if you're a pygmy, but if you're over 5' I would give it a miss - but worst of all the room temperature was STIFLING (either fit proper Velux windows to ventilate the space or use an air-conditioner - issuing us with a couple of fans is hopelessly inadequate!) Breakfast (the 'Lord Somerleyton') included half a piece of stale toast and a congealed fried egg and no beans (you'd run out apparently..) The fruit juice decanters were down to the dregs and the bread was stale also. About the worse stay we've ever had in a hotel and all for the bargain price of £170! We raised all these issues with the asst manager at checkout, who was very understanding and assured us the duty manager would be in touch straight away - which they haven't....we won't be coming back!
Brilliant food, service, surroundings, ambience, Fritton Arms has it all. We could not fault anything at all. The staff are all so friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning
Meal was delicious. Service great. Will definitely come back before the end of our holiday!
Haven't been for a while - just returned for Sunday lunch. Nothing but fantastic. Great pool as a £5 extra - the combination is the only way to beat the weather this summer.
We really enjoyed our time at the Fritton Arms and the staff were all amazing, can’t wait to come back and will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Wonderful food and service. Will definitely be back
The food was excellent and the service was welcoming from start to finish. Your team handled 2 very difficult guests whilst we were there and did so professionally and with a smile. Cannot fault it one bit, will certainly be back
