Wasn’t even open
We booked a table and the venue wasn’t even open when we arrived, very disappointing considering we planned the entire night and it wasn’t open, if you haven’t changed your online opening times through COVID it should have been done earlier to reflect your open times.
You accepted my booking and you were closed. You emailed confirmation and a follow up email asking for feedback on the experience.
The venue wasn’t even open. Very disappointed that the bookings haven’t been suspended during this time.
I like this place, good specials every day for a good price. Very good staff and customer service. Convenient location right next to the cultural center station.
Great menu, catered for all our family's food allergies, a number of gluten and dairy free choices - and all very tasty.
Despite booking a table for 10 people, the staff couldn't find our booking (it wasn't busy in the restaurant area). When they put a table together for us it only sat 8 people and we had to drag another table and chairs over to make up the 10 seats. The bar area is nice but noisy (it is a pub so I expect this) but the restaurant area felt like a back room and wasn't a great fit for my event. The food was really good and the staff were lovely. I'd come here for informal drinks with friends as it had a good atmosphere for that, but it was the wrong venue for my networking dinner last night.
As a family with two teenagers we were looking for somewhere we could have lunch before heading to the Museum and Gallery's, the Fox turned out to be the perfect option. The prices are great, it it close to the Cultural precinct and there was something on the menu for everyone.
Can’t comment on food, drink or anything other than purely a review on an advertised event - super bowl - 3pm If you go there for a sporting event you should have screens set up so that you can see it from any reserved table - nope you didn’t do that so the casino we went too. Don’t market your self as a sports event bar when you can’t produce the goods.
I came on a Thursday night.. Maybe it's more interesting other nights.. But i can only present feedback on what i personally experienced and that was.. a)Great value for money b)Top notch service from the staff but also c)A rather bland atmosphere.. And while it was good value.. The food itself felt very much like i walked into my local RSL or one of those $10 all you can eat buffet places where you can eat food you could have probably gone home and cooked in the oven yourself and not been able to tell the difference.. For Example: I had the Flathead and Chips.. Flathead was actually not bad.. The chips were literally just the same thing you buy at the shops and almost always lightly burn. No seasoning or anything special going on there. And unlike home this place had not much happening at all in the main dining area that everyone pretty much just stares at each other as your trying to eat.. No entertainment i could see of (Though i will say i didn't try the rooftop) and no mood lighting whatsoever. This place wasn't a bad experience.. I just thought it could be better.. Or perhaps i just chose the wrong day.. It's just, for a place in such a good spot near South bank..Where just about everywhere else serves such great food and is packed out the door & Has plenty of live entertainment.. This space felt wasted. My opinion. P.S You need a DJ? Call me
Came for trivia night had more arrived then planned moved tables 3 times staff was super chill and happy too accomodate
Great services and food.
Love the fox, I go there 5 days a week! Feels like I bloody live there.
Staff were helpful food was amazing and the live musician was amazing definitely be back again for the cheeseburger
What a great afternoon sitting at The Fox, food - duck pizza and buttermilk chicken burger were so delicious and a good size to fill us both - and the service were both fantastic. An easy location to have a long delicious lunch followed by a few drinks.
Friendly staff, great pub food, and good service!
You shouldn’t say half price pizza all day Sunday on your thing on the table and then say it is only after midday. Someone in our group bought a full price one without realising.
The venue is centrally located, open and airy and has great views of the CBD. Access to te rooftop is via several sets of stairs which could be problematic after a big nite. The pizzas were hot and the beer cold. Highly recommend.
Severely disappointed in my experience of the Fox tonight. I made the booking months ago when I bought tickets for a once-in-a lifetime night out at the ballet with my stepdaughter. I researched restaurants in the area and the rooftop bar was planned to be one of the highlights of the night. Upon arrival I was told that even though I'd booked for the rooftop, it was not even open on Tuesdays. Someone had emailed me several hours earlier to tell me, but I hadn't checked e-mails that day. Instead we sat on street level and ate very average food (my chips were cold when they arrived to the table). The bar was understaffed, so long lines for a drink. I ordered a schooner since I saw on the menu I was within happy hour time, only to be told after it was poured that this particular schooner didn't count for happy hour and I had to pay full price. As I said, severely underwhelmed and will not be coming back. I hope this feedback is useful so others don't experience the same thing. And you might want to change the online booking system so the rooftop can't take bookings on days that it's not open.
It was better when we where moved to bigger tables.
Good food, service and great price !
The atmosphere was good and also the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately we were disappointed to find that we had requested the rooftop as a reserved table but when we got there we found the rooftop was reserved for a party. Would of been nice to of been told this before arriving at venue.
Music was to loud for an afternoon get together (4pm) could not hold a conversation.
Easy to book online. Food and service is always good especially if you only have 1 hour for lunch!
