Sadly we could not stay over due to Covid restrictions. However the dinner that we had was superb . The Fox was a lovely place to celebrate our wedding anniversary . Delicious food and attentive staff .
A very lovely setting. I would like to return for afternoon tea once Christmas is over to try an afternoon tea menu that’s not Christmassy. The sandwiches were delicious however I would have preferred not all of the cakes to be Christmas themed. The sandwiches were delicious. The service was good. But had to get the attention of the waiter when wanted more tea and drinks. However what a lovely treat during these unusual times and during a pandemic. I would love to return
Thoroughly enjoyable but dining area was a little cold
Sadly few niggles about our afternoon as I had to ask for the sizeable of crumbs under my chair to be swept away. No complimentary replenishment on the sandwiches which is common place else where. Had to ask for refresh of tea too. All that aside, the food was delicious, the tea we picked was devine and the staff from my initial email contact to those who greeted and served us on the day were incredibly accommodating and friendly and professional.
Amazing atmosphere and great service. We are definitely going back
Restaurant staff were excellent, very pleasant, attentive and helpful. Menu was extremely limited Regardless of Covid effects, in particular the dessert choices.
The food was incredible. Some music may make the room a little less echoey. We would love to have eaten at the restaurant for the second night but it was closed.
We celebrated a friends 60th birthday and the afternoon tea was perfect. So much food even an extra helping of scones ! And the service was 100% attentive and our celiac friend had an amazing selection of foods as well
We were greeted very well but after our food was served we were left on our own, we were not offered any more drinks. The sandwiches seemed stale as if they had been sitting a long time. I have been here a few times for afternoon tea some years ago but it has gone downhill since. There were dead spiders on the window sill next to us! very poor service.
lovely place but short staffed and the team stressed because of it
Lovely afternoon tea
Admittedly I booked kinda late but here's the story: Online booking confirmed as the golf course restaurant so I called reception because there was no reply on the 704480 number. Imogen confirmed, over the phone, that my booking was changed to Foxhills Manor Dining Rooms. On Tuesday 1st I get an email confirming my booking for 2 people (my booking should be for 6 adults and two children). I called again and again there is no reply on the 704480 number so I call reception and am assured that my booking is correct. On Sat. 5th, the day before, I get two emails confirming my booking. On Sun.6th, the actual day, shortly after 8am someone sends an email to confirm my CANCELLATION OF BOOKING. This being my wife's actual birthday I do not check my emails until we are about to set off, I was checking for the booking ref. no. Naturally, I then try your 704480 number and still there is no reply (if you advertise this number why does nobdy ever answer it?). Adamant that you will honour my booking we set off to drive to you and my daughter, who is in on the surprise and who is to arrive before us, manages to sort out the confusion with your staff. We did have a lovely afternoon tea in the Study and the gentleman who attended our party was terrific. I tipped accordingly. Please: Attend to the unanswered phone problem. Attend to the fiasco of the emails problem.
Would have liked to see more options on the menu to choose from.
Lovely afternoon tea service good, lounge clean and comfortable. Staff welcoming and pleasant attentive without being over bearing
We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating my parent's golden wedding anniversary at Foxhills with afternoon tea. Very picturesque, the food was good quality, you he selection of teas impressive and the service good. I believe we had good value for money.
Lovely evening meal when we dined in the Fox. Great service, lovely place to eat for any occasion
We very much enjoyed our evening
Decent food - very attentive service - table layout could be improved as we were strong at a wall.
Might have been nice to have a little background music playing just to give the room a bit more atmosphere. But on the whole it was a pleasant experience. Fair play to the single waiter that was serving quite a few tables on his own.
We were beautifully looked after which made a very special occasion extra special
The room was quite hot, it would have been nice to have been able to eat outside.
We really enjoyed our afternoon tea as well as a walk round the grounds afterwards. Thank you.
Spent a lovely afternoon yesterday celebrating my sister's birthday with a champagne afternoon tea. Lovely comfortable lounge, delicious food & drink & excellent friendly service. Very lucky to be able to visit before everything closed. Good luck to all the staff there & hope to return again once we're back to normality.
Excellent food, excellent environment, the service was good, though not outstanding. My glass was empty a little too often!
Fabulous evening in the beautiful Fox Dining rooms. Food, service and the newly renovated were all top marks
