Spent a lovely afternoon yesterday celebrating my sister's birthday with a champagne afternoon tea. Lovely comfortable lounge, delicious food & drink & excellent friendly service. Very lucky to be able to visit before everything closed. Good luck to all the staff there & hope to return again once we're back to normality.
Excellent food, excellent environment, the service was good, though not outstanding. My glass was empty a little too often!
Fabulous evening in the beautiful Fox Dining rooms. Food, service and the newly renovated were all top marks
Wonderful afternoon tea with impeccable service.
Hi came yesterday for afternoon tea with my daughter! Got seated ! A long wait before the waiter bought us the tea menu! Another long wait till we told them We wanted the champagne tea! The food came before we even got our tea or champagne! A lovely waitress was shocked that we were waiting fir so long and seemed to be forgotten! She returned saying the champagne would not be charged which was very kind of her! There seemed to be a lack of staff ! It was ok ! Lovely setting just spent all Our time waiting! Even when we wanted to pay it was another long wait! Wouldn’t rush back ! But would like to try the Sunday roast lunch to see if that would be the same !
Lovely waiter, food great, portion sizes much more generous since revamp.
We were very disappointed with our afternoon tea recently. We chose Foxhills because of the beautiful hotel and I’d been many times before in the past and had great experiences. On this occasion the waitress was unable to tell us what was on the cake stand. One of the guests with us was vegetarian (which we pre-booked) so we wanted to make sure they had catered for her. When asked, she checked with the chef and still got it wrong. The sandwiches had some very odd fillings including avocado and onion??? and there weren’t the same amount of each sandwich. Once we’d sat down we only had service when we managed to catch the waitresses attention. We were very disappointed when we expected a much better experience.
A beautiful venue for afternoon tea for a friend's special birthday. Food + drink absolutely stunning. We didn't really want to leave. Service was exceptional and all staff very friendly. Can't wait to to back again. In fact we'll be going back soon for an Abba Tribute evening on the 27th March.
Amazing food! Great atmosphere, will be back!
Lovely setting and a good afternoon tea.
Loved the Earl Grey, as well as the scones. There was a loud phone user at the next table going through an impressive set of 4-5 conference calls otherwise, enjoyable.
A very enjoyable stay We found all staff very helpful We will book again Thanks to All
Absolutely excellent. The food was outstanding. I will certainly be recommending it.
A lovely meal in wonderful surroundings. It was a bit too hot sitting next to the radiator but other then that was fab
Dining room could do with some sound deadening. The harsh acoustics make conversations difficult.
The staff was appropriately friendly and food was quite good. No one was disappointed in anything that was served. I thought the prices were appropriate for the venue and quality of the food. We had six people and enjoyed a handful of starters, a main for each person, plus some shared deserts, coffee and a bottle of wine. The total bill, including adding a bit extra on the service line, was under £300. One quibble: the menu was a bit limited. Perhaps a bid more breadth would be welcome. The room is also a touch on the noisy side. We were in the large room with the elephants on the wall and it had a bit of an echo. It wouldn't stop me from going again, but it wasn't the best aspect of our visit. Overall, very satisfied.
Sun blinds are needed
We had a delicious meal but service was slow in parts. The main lights are not bright in the light they emit but are those LED type that when you look at them you keep seeing them every time you blink. Not pleasant and don’t suit the restaurant style. We were also surprised that espressos were served in americano cups. Not a big deal but looks odd. The food was really good though.
The staff were absolutely delightful and tried their very best to make our dining experience enjoyable and were keen to cater for our wishes. Unfortunately, the food wasn't really up to standard for the price: our Pork Belly was very dry and uninspiring (no even a sauce) and the accompanying vegetables, although tasty, were very modest in portion size. As to the décor, the tables were bare and without the linen shown on the website pictures; the room was quite sombre and looking neglected and the overall impression was that the quality and standards do not match the price asked. I would add that I was very shocked by the state of the cloakroom where cracked floor tiles were ingrained with dirt and the smell on opening the door overpowering in a very unpleasant fashion (smell of drains). Generally, speaking, the restaurant deterioration echoes our impression of this run-down hotel where we stayed overnight and reported a very repulsively stained sofa in our room and a general state of wear and tear. Sorry!
The staff serving afternoon tea to my party of 6 were delightful. It was my birthday and a plate with ‘happy birthday’ written in chocolate was presented to me. Our tea was served in a timely manner, tea/coffee was refreshed at regular intervals. The food was plentiful and beautifully arranged. All staff were naturally warm and friendly. A wonderful experience.
Food was amazing!!!
The plain scones are one of the best I’ve tasted. Excellent service and wonderful ambience.
What a shame you have spoilt what used to be the Manor House Restaurant. It has been a special local fine dining restaurant for years. We moved to Chobham in 1986 and have been dining there since. We appreciate it has been made more appealing for guest who would like less formal dining but Foxhills is big enough to offer both. We thought we were going for a special Christmas meal with friends and made an effort to dress up, the men in jackets as used to be required, and frankly we were overdressed. There was no festive feeling at all not even crackers on the table, we could have been in a pub dining room. We weren’t offered drinks when we were taken to our table and the bread, which is an extra, didn’t arrive with our starters. The food was good, no complaints, but spoilt by the lack of attention the staff used to give. In past years you were given mince pies and petite fours with coffee in the lounge but we not given anything. A very disappointing evening for the last Saturday before Christmas
The staff at Foxhills are friendly and helpful. From the restaurant to the Golf shop. Superb service.
