About The Fox and Coney Inn
The Fox and Coney is a cosy country pub with open fires and dog friendly. Great food and a great selection of ales, wines, gins, and whiskeys.
The food was lovely, however the service for the price you are paying was very poor which resulted in me not paying a tip. Despite there being only one other group of diners service was extremely slow. A request was made for vinegar which arrived so slowly the fish was half eaten. Service was slow for drinks ordered. We ordered a desert and were waiting 20 mins for deserts to be plated up despite I assume them being pre-prepared. When the desert arrived we were given no cutlery, the brownie was missing the ice cream that was supposed to accompany the dish.
Friendly helpful service. Well cooked food.
staff excellent service very good Roast potatoes poor not roasted they tasted like they had been deep fried otherwise s nice meal
We went for lunch and dinner service, excellent on both occasions. Fantastic food and great service.
First visit and we will definitely return . Friendly staff, well presented tasty food. Perfect.
Lovely meal at lunchtime during the week. Staff were lovely and friendly and menu had lots to choose from. We will be returning!
We were really disappointed with our meal. It was expensive and we really expected it to be delicious- this was far from the case. The Beef Wellington was dry and plain and the Seabass made me feel sick due to it being drenched in oil. The serving staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great, just, unfortunately, it was the food that let it down. For a bill of £80+, we were extremely disappointed.
Very friendly staff- thanks
Best steak and ale pie ever
I and my two friends had a lovely evening at the F & C and everyone's food was delicious and of a high standard. Will definitely be back.
Good menu to choose from, really good food and perfect portion size. Definitely be back soon.
My wife and I had a fabulous time dining here for our Wedding anniversary. It was my first meal at The Fox and Coney but it won't be the last. I had a fantastic Swordfish steak. When it arrived I thought that the portion size looked a little small for someone with a big appetite like myself (next time I'll order a side of sweet potato fries), however having eaten this and the Chocolate Brownie for desert I was suitably full. My wife had the vegetarian option which looked filling, and the apple and rhubarb crumble. It was fine to exchange the custard for ice cream, and no request was too much. The price of food was reasonable and we had two courses, and 2 drinks each for £65. Staff looked smart in black trousers and white shirts/blouses and were attentive. Background music was quite enough to allow for a nice conversation, though soothing during quiet times. It was Simon and Garfunkel. The decor and ambiance were great, although my only thought is that it could get quite hot in there on a hot day. Temperatures were steady when we visited, windows were open yet it was still warm. This would not put me off, and I look forward to visiting in the future.
Disappointed that Eton mess wasn’t on the menu as it’s the best one I’ve ever tried!
5 adults, 2 children, Sunday lunch. The food was excellent and the size of the children's dinners were definitely value for money. But the thing which was truly amazing that a 4 year old and a two year old almost finished them. Thank you for an excellent meal and outstanding service
Lovely food and friendly service. Very much enjoyed my visit
Generally good as usual.Sunday lunch portions appear to be less
Great portions, fresh food, maybe more choices on the kids menu?
I visit quite a lot and I am never disappointed
Yet again the food was very good. Was served very quickly, by friendly staff.
Lovely meal, friendly staff. Would definitely go again.
Could do with a person at bar full time during lunch periods. Long wait to be seen, otherwise excellent
Good tasty food - generous portions- in a relaxed atmosphere.
Excellent! Gluten free, special requests for out of town guests for yorkshire foods and absolutely no problem! Thank you!
Service not too great sat at a table with empty glasses and no one asked if we wanted another drink? Quiet night poor service
Spot on food in a relaxed environment
