About The Fostons Ash
Foston's Ash is perfectly situated between Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester and Stroud. This is a great venue, in the heart of the Cotswold Hills and Cider With Rosie country, to meet up with loved ones, especially in the summer months when our gorgeous family garden really comes to life.
Visited during Covid - everything had been done to make things as safe as possible. The staff were all great and food fresh and varied choice.
Amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute!
The most delicious Sunday roast in a lovely countryside atmosphere.
Good vibe and lovely staff. Will be back
Really enjoyable lunch, we will be returning
Excellent food, drink and service. The team have obviously worked hard to allow social distancing without imparting on the wonderful atmosphere. We'll done!
We live locally to the Fostons Ash and dined there for the first time since lockdown on Wednesday 5th August. When we arrived we were very surprised to see how busy the bar/restaurant and outdoor garden were! So much so we struggled to find a parking space!! We did not expect this on a Wednesday evening, but guessed it could be something to do with the new ‘eat out to help out’ 50% off the government had introduced?! Needless to say it was apparent the kitchen and waiting staff were struggling to keep up with demand, with reduced staffing levels. Totally understandable in the circumstances! The waiting staff were apologetic and attentive and the food and drink was amazing once it arrived! We enjoyed the busy atmosphere and were happy not to be rushed through our meal so we could enjoy the evening there! We noticed the place had been redecorated during lockdown and now had a modern country pub vibe, which we love! The outdoor gin bar is a must and the house Polo Gin is sublime!! We will definitely be back!
It was great to see your place busy again, we will be back.
Food was delicious and well presented. Steak a little small for the price (no weight shown on menu) but was lovely and beautifully cooked. Service slow but probably due to more diners than expected
Covid restrictions were well adhered to and we felt very comfortable.
Loved sitting outside, nice atmosphere. Really good service. However the quality of the food was really poor. The Gnocchi was just not nice. Tastless with over cooked vegetables, not refinded at all. The burger wasn't very tasty and had some strange cheese paste. Chips were nice though. Also there was a sewage smell from the drains. Not one to complain but just feeding back as we love the place but just think food is letting you guys down.
Fantastic evening - amazing steak. We will be back!
Unfortunately we won’t be returning. The steak at £23 was disappointing and the 1/4 of a rasher if bacon served with the burgers laughable. The starters were good as was the lemon sole. We had to go inside on a number of occasions to request service even though the COVID restrictions had asked us to wait outside. Wet logs put on the fire meant we were smoked out. The hefty price tag didn’t match the food/service or atmosphere unfortunately. We had been really looking forward to it as us visited last summer however we sadly won’t be returning.
Party of 6 drinks only but great welcome & tables moved around accommodate us so nearer to fire pit 😊. V attentive service, highly recommend will be back v soon.
We had a lovely evening with great food and service
1st class , fab fresh food , well cooked and nicely presented - friendly attentive young staff and a lovely atmosphere fir dining out.
The food wasn’t amazing. Which was a shame as I had high hopes as Steak is called out as a special dish on the menu. The steak was thin and over cooked. I wasn’t given a steak knife so it was quite difficult to cut through as it was chewy. We also had to wait 50 mins from the grazing snacks to the main... which was hard as we had a hungry grouchy toddler. A shame because the pub is beautiful
This was my family's first time out since lockdown and The Fostons Ash was the perfect place to come. There was a rather large party near to us, who were not too spatially aware, but not the fault of the hosts and generally everyone kept distanced. I was impressed by the staff's handling of the whole 'new' dining experience.
Was a lovely Sunday roast bit trumpy But nice 😀
We had a great time. Atmosphere was great and felt very safe during current times
Our server was absolutely fantastic, couldn’t fault her one bit. Food and wine was beautiful too. This is our second visit to your establishment and we will definitely return again. Thank you!
Lovely pub , with great beer garden. Food was excellent , will definitely be back!
Great to see Fostons back open, great food and service as always.
Lovely food and great service.
