About The Fostons Ash
Foston's Ash is perfectly situated between Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester and Stroud. This is a great venue, in the heart of the Cotswold Hills and Cider With Rosie country, to meet up with loved ones, especially in the summer months when our gorgeous family garden really comes to life.
A very good steak, perfectly cooked seabass and a nice venison pie. A good pint. A very nice pre-Xmas lunch.
We’ve been half a dozen times to this warm, welcoming pub - and we will continue to bring friends here. The food is a cut above pub fare, the service is very friendly and obliging, happily bring any extras you ask for. Foston’s Ash is a truly great British pub.
Very very tasty, will definitely be returning. It was an oversight on our part but didn’t notice the £22 service charge on our bill and left a tip as well. I would prefer the service charge to be our choice not automatically added on.
A very good meal on Sunday, with excellent beef and pork. An inventive starter too. Great to have such a nice place close to home
Friendly staff and very good with dogs
A wonderfully cosy pub with a great atmosphere. Lots a charm and character. The food was superb and exceptionally good value.... very friendly staff with attentive service. I would highly recommend the place to family and friends.....
Great food. Lovely atmosphere.
Great food, friendly staff, lovely experience. Slow on clearing the table between courses and missing drinks were highlighted several times but all in all a lovely time was had.
We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch to celebrate my Dad's 80th Birthday. This pub always has a great atmosphere and the food is local, seasonal and delicious and the service is friendly and professional. We love coming here and are always warmly welcomed. Thank you Fostons Ash for putting a birthday banner over our table, card and birthday shot of British Polo Sloe gin - my Dad absolutely loved it!! Highly recommended!
One of the most friendly and atmospheric pubs my wife and I have been in for some time. A delightful, beautifully cooked, meal, accompanied by quality regional drinks. Highly recommended!
Service vastly improved, would be nice for the 'specials' board to be reintroduced for people who visit regularly.
Very enjoyable experience
Delicious lunch, nice atmosphere and totally charming staff
Lovely food, friendly staff, very comfortable relaxed atmosphere.
Service a vast improvement since the last few visits when it was very slow and lackadaisical.
Great little pub, lovely food, atmosphere and the staff friendly,we didn’t want for anything. The chef doing the outside bbq friendly, chatty and we had a great lunch
Excellent, tasty, good quality food. Made to feel very welcome. Appreciated being able to bring my dog!
Disappointed as menu limited and also 3 items not available, need some more lighting in eating area,on a positive staff very helpful and good selection of beer Not as good as under the good food club.
The Sunday roast chicken was a tad dry but more importantly my partner was put off by the bones in the thigh. Whilst bones are anticipated in a thigh we asked the waitress on the off chance the thigh was de-boned, she advised it was all off the bone so my partner ordered it. Unfortunately when it arrived it wasn't as specified and my partner asked me take the thigh from her plate. She then half heartedly started to eat but actually lost interest in her meal and gave it to my son to finish. We realise it is only bones in meat but she particularly does not like bones in meat and so asked with a backup choice in mind just in case. So she was disappointed when it arrived. We did have to ask for the apple sauce with the pork and were not advised till after we asked for it that the redcurrant sauce with the chicken had run out. Bit of a shame given we ordered at about 12.30pm with much of lunch service to still go. The rest of us did enjoy our meal and the pub is very nice with attentive staff and we were grateful to have our table fit 6 instead of 4 at such late notice.
Food was delicious service 5 star would highly recommend
Staff very friendly. Excellent restaurant and bar. Highly recommend. Will definitely visit if in the area. 😀
The waitresses were extremely polite and friendly. The food was very good and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Very friendly staff, beautiful setting and lovely garden. The fire pit was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting by it to enjoy our meal. The steaks were also absolutely wonderful! Will definitely visit again!
We had the most amazing night at The Fostons Ash. Wonderful food, great beer and such a friendly group of locals. We were even offered a lift home at the end of the night!
One of the best roast dinners I have experienced when eating out, really lovely! Great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff! We’ll be back!
