About The Fostons Ash
Foston's Ash is perfectly situated between Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester and Stroud. This is a great venue, in the heart of the Cotswold Hills and Cider With Rosie country, to meet up with loved ones, especially in the summer months when our gorgeous family garden really comes to life.
Very disappointed. Had to wait an hour for food to come, then when it did finally arrive they forgot to bring our the tartare sauce with our fish and chips which we had to wait another 10 minutes for. By the time the sauces came out food was cold. The fish and chips were awful, straight out of frozen bag quality instead of freshly prepared. The only good part of the meal was the drinks.
Loved our visit to the pub. Loved the marquee and great service. Drinks a bit slow initially but fine after. Fish of day lovely but just not enough, luckily we had a starter 🤔
Whole team did a superb job in the most challenging of circumstances (Covid + Bank Hol gales and rain)! Food and service superb and despite a sell out crowd the landlord somehow made time to chat to us - very impressive and would recommend - will certainly be back.
they have all worked extremely hard to make the current covid situation work, yes it was a cold evening and your food gets cold very quickly but that is no fault of the staff or establishment. Take a blanket, wrap up and enjoy being able to get out of your own kitchen and have a lovely meal cooked for you.
My husband and I had a delicious lunch yesterday. The waitrons were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The seating in the marquee tent was comfortable and felt cosy even though it was thoroughly ventilated.
We had a lovely meal in a setting that was warm and dry on a cold rainy day. Service was excellent and the COVID protocol was good without being overly intrusive. I would recommend and will revisit as soon as possible.
We had the most wonderful evening and felt so welcomed. We are coming back in a few weeks!
Outstanding service, food was delicious and a fair price for the quality. Amazing veggie/vegan choices on such a small menu, puts the big chains to shame. Will be returning. Few more cider options on tap wouldn't go a miss, but great to see a pub that doesn't offer thatchers or strongbow so no real complaints!
Shame it was so cold!! but a great improvement on my last visit, felt there could have been a bit more choice on the menu though
Such a lovely evening. We felt very welcome & were well looked after. Thank you!
Atmosphere fine, considering the hailstorm on the marquee....... Food and drink excellent. Service just about adequate... Professor Peter Jacob
Service was extremely slow and not particular good. Had to keep asking for someone to take our drinks order, and then food order as no one would come to our table. Food brought out (after an extremely long wait) without cutlery and drinks we ordered never made it to the table. Had to keep getting up to find a waiter to help us at every stage. Terrible experience for a 30th birthday celebration.
Great customer service and very friendly staff
Lovely meal. Really good service despite blowing a Gale outside. Lovely outside dining area. Jay
Impressive set up given the restrictions, probably the best use of outdoor space I have seen so far. Very pleasant welcome and friendly service throughout. The food was excellent and the drinks selection was also excellent. Only small gripe was that I did put on my booking request that we would need a highchair and preferably a warmer section of the room - we were told on arrival that neither would be possible. However the staff did what they could to ensure our table was out of the cold - the wait for initial drinks and main course was also longer than hoped for but again the updates from the staff were provided with a certain amount of charm. Overall a pleasant "Covid" dining experience!
We had a great time catching up with friends not seen in a long time. This was the perfect venue, especially the marquee given we had awful weather. The staff worked very hard to make it work with the requirements to eat/drink outside. They were very friendly and we felt very welcomed. Thank you for a lovely time.
Great find, I was visiting mum and dad in Malmesbury with my brother the pub has got a great marquee for COVID outside rules. I understand the tent is staying so bring on a wet British summer. Will definitely return.
Trying circumstances- not least because of the weather - but we had a great time with fantastic service and wonderful food. First time eating out since things re-opened and we really enjoyed It, so thank you to all the hard working staff and management.
Excellent food and atmosphere, staff very helpful and polite. However it took over an hour for our food to arrive after ordering. We had a table booked well in advance and were one of the first customers at our table. Obviously with such beautiful countryside around we had been for a long walk beforehand and were very hungry so the delay did disappoint us a little.
100% Lovely staff, very efficient. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our visit here! Beautiful surroundings , highly recommended
A fantastic lunch. A pub going the extra mile to make everything extra special in these extraordinary times.
Inventive, tasty and well priced. They have managed to create a lovely atmosphere which, in a Covid environment, most pubs struggle with.
Service was faultless greeting was warm and welcoming looking forward to going back to Fostons Ash Inn again
Well organised, busy and lively atmosphere Food was good but wouldn’t say great. Service was very good.
