About The Fostons Ash
Foston's Ash is perfectly situated between Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester and Stroud. This is a great venue, in the heart of the Cotswold Hills and Cider With Rosie country, to meet up with loved ones, especially in the summer months when our gorgeous family garden really comes to life.
9.99 out of 10... Well nothings absolutely perfect. !
First time we have been here and we enjoyed it very much. The food and service were great. It gets busy (not very large inside) and so you need to book. We will go again.
The restaurant was very short-staffed and quite busy. The menu was fairly limited and you got exactly what it said on there, nothing more, nothing less. So my Cajun Chicken Burger with lettuce and tomato accompanied with Sweet Potato Chips was exactly that, a small piece of not very spicy chicken with a little bit of lettuce and a slice of tomato, not even a salad garnish to go with it, in fairness the sweet potato chips were lovely. My husband's steak was very tasty and it came with a few onion rings, one small portobello mushroom and some chips, he hadn't realised that to get veg he had to have a side order. We didn't order dessert as by the time our plates were collected we had been waiting about half-an-hour so we gave it a miss. Part way through the meal my husband ordered another pint, we reminded the waitress of this when she collected the plates. The pint was brought to us and was foc as we had had to wait for so long for it. This meal was a birthday treat for husband's birthday, maybe not such a treat after all.
5 star rating thoroughly deserved. Staff were attentive and accommodating and food was delicious. Everyone went out of their way to help us celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday. Could not recommend more highly.. well done.
I had a nice time although I think we caught you guys in some sort of staff meeting/dinner as there were only 2 guys working on pretty busy evening
Nice location but in the restaurant there were loads of flies surrounding our plates. Sadly this spoilt the evening for us.
I had the lamb, and it was beautifully cooked - some of the best I've ever tasted!
Having eaten at the Fostons ash a number of times and enjoyed the food yesterday’s was very disappointing, roast potatoes over cooked green beans under cooked, and quite a small portion for the money.
Food was excellent and Tobias who was manning the Bar and serving everyone with their food at the same time was very friendly and helpful - a real asset to the Pub ! Would be happy to return. Amanda
Loved the food and the service and the atmosphere.
Friendly staff, really helpful. Lovely pub and great food
Very surprised at how delicious the beef was, perfectly cooked!
We stumbled across this little gem after a recommendation from a friend. We’ve lived in the area for over 10 years now and can’t believe we’ve missed out for so long. Excellent food, fantastic service, and really great value for money. Need I say anymore!
Fantastic food and great staff!
Courteous team, amazing food and a homely ambience. Very peaceful countryside location yet still close enough, and central, to the main surrounding towns. Thank you for looking after our family so well on Saturday 28th April; we can’t wait to come back for another awesome dining experience at The Foston’s Ash! Suman :) x
This is our local restaurant and bumped into our neighbor. Well looked after and food and wine was excellent and look forward to going again.
We enjoyed our meals and service was friendly and good. Nice pub with good ale. However generally some food portions were a little small - the sea bass in particular. The lamb was slightly tough.
Fabulous food always. Lovely atmosphere and professional staff. Would highly recommend.
Excellent! We've just returned from a two-night stay at the Bowden Hall Hotel and can honestly say that our evening at your pub was the highlight of our visit. I'm usually quite critical but from the service to the quality of the food and beer there was absolutely nothing I could possibly pick holes in! Please see my Box 5 review shortly to be submitted to Tripadvisor.
Upon checking our bill after paying (left the men to pay) I did think it was odd that we’d been charged two different prices for kids drinks. We had four children who all had a glass of black currant squash, on the bill was separated as 2xhalf cordials at £2 each and 2xglass cordial at £1 each. Not a massive deal, but strange to be charged two different prices, and I hope you wouldn’t charge £2 a glass for a weak squash for a 4 year old...just a bit of feedback
Hugely enjoyable and looking forward to coming back. Food was delicious and presented beautifully.
One of my favourite resturants! The food is incredible, the staff are amazing and there is just nothing i can fault! The waitress gave my dad a £10 voucher to return for his Birthday which just made the night even more special. Thank you
