About The Fostons Ash
Foston's Ash is perfectly situated between Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester and Stroud. This is a great venue, in the heart of the Cotswold Hills and Cider With Rosie country, to meet up with loved ones, especially in the summer months when our gorgeous family garden really comes to life.
Disappointed as menu limited and also 3 items not available, need some more lighting in eating area,on a positive staff very helpful and good selection of beer Not as good as under the good food club.
The Sunday roast chicken was a tad dry but more importantly my partner was put off by the bones in the thigh. Whilst bones are anticipated in a thigh we asked the waitress on the off chance the thigh was de-boned, she advised it was all off the bone so my partner ordered it. Unfortunately when it arrived it wasn't as specified and my partner asked me take the thigh from her plate. She then half heartedly started to eat but actually lost interest in her meal and gave it to my son to finish. We realise it is only bones in meat but she particularly does not like bones in meat and so asked with a backup choice in mind just in case. So she was disappointed when it arrived. We did have to ask for the apple sauce with the pork and were not advised till after we asked for it that the redcurrant sauce with the chicken had run out. Bit of a shame given we ordered at about 12.30pm with much of lunch service to still go. The rest of us did enjoy our meal and the pub is very nice with attentive staff and we were grateful to have our table fit 6 instead of 4 at such late notice.
Food was delicious service 5 star would highly recommend
Staff very friendly. Excellent restaurant and bar. Highly recommend. Will definitely visit if in the area. 😀
The waitresses were extremely polite and friendly. The food was very good and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Very friendly staff, beautiful setting and lovely garden. The fire pit was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting by it to enjoy our meal. The steaks were also absolutely wonderful! Will definitely visit again!
We had the most amazing night at The Fostons Ash. Wonderful food, great beer and such a friendly group of locals. We were even offered a lift home at the end of the night!
One of the best roast dinners I have experienced when eating out, really lovely! Great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff! We’ll be back!
Excellent service with very friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere and great food!
We attended late on a quiet Sunday morning for a celebration brunch with a few friends. A charming place, with cyclists, walkers, friends and families alike trickling through in the time we spent there. The food and drinks were good, staff were welcoming and always happy to accommodate our queries. We left around 1pm, the tables full with patrons and the smell of great Sunday dinners. Making a note to come back, and hopefully the weather with hold so can enjoy a drink in the garden area. Thanks to the team!
Love the weird things that chef dreams up 4 the menu!! Really wide ranging menu, welcoming staff, lovely garden area AND dog friendly. What more could u ask for,
Lovely meal, thank you and the service was excellent- as usual.
The table service was attentive and sensitive to what my party needed. The lead server was outstanding. A menu glitch was the only disappointment but we received ample apology and will definitely come again!
Firstly my my name is Gethin Jones. This is the second time I have eaten at F A and the food has risen from good to excellent. I was with a motor club party of over 30 enthusiasts and the food was served quickly and efficiently. the atmosphere was jolly and the staff enthusiastic. I will eat here again..
Lovely service by the two girls;attentive and friendly, just right. Ate outside which was great. The four pub bores (customers) inside were amusing :>) Cut glass accents with broken glass opinions.
Lovely meal and excellent service. Menu is not extensive but both dishes I ordered were delicious.
Myself & my husband enjoyed a meal at the Fostons Ash Thursday 4th April 2019 which happened to be a steak night. I had ribeye which was cooked to perfection, hubby had fillet steak again beautifully cooked. The staff were friendly & efficient, I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for really good home cooked food & value for money.
Lovely mothers day meal. The roast beef in particular was delicious!
Very restricted menu,A long wait to receive food.and the price for roast beef was very expensive.
Great pies on a Monday
Service was a bit slow and ad hoc. Lovely staff but it didn’t seem very organised and it wasn’t as if it was busy. Water glasses on the table were left over from lunch time service and still had water in them. Steaks were delicious but please please please stop serving them on old wooden boards - the steaks were stone cold within 5 minutes.
Fantastic. Thank you. Get there for pie night. Off the charts!
We took a large group there on a Thursday which coincided with their steak night and we were not disappointed. Everything about the meal was great, so we will definitely be returning.
Excellent lunch. Friendly and attentive service.
We caught them on a bad day with one chef off sick so a long wait for food that was bland and undercooked when it arrived, not to mention the tiniest whole plaice ever seen . The waiters were very friendly and apologetic but couldn't really make up for the rest of it.
