About The Forge Kitchen
Born from the heat, flames and stripped back elements found in the Blacksmith’s forge, our concept is simple - Food cooked as nature intended, no fuss, over smoke and fire with just a pinch of salt and pepper, or go full Forge with something a whole lot more indulgent...
It’s your choice - Forge it your way.
At the bar, a selection of seasonal and smoked cocktails, craft beers and hand-picked wines.
It's time to re-think the steakhouse.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at the Forge having heard many good reviews. We were talked through the menu with great depth and honesty with size portions - especially for the sides. Although it was a busy Saturday night, the food was of a high quality and presented well. The friendly staff had a great sense of humour not only on our table but at others around us too. The only criticism I have is that when we were offered water for the table we were not given tap water as we thought we had asked for so we had an added extra on our bill. We look forward to visiting again and have recommended the restaurant to friends and family.
Great food and service love the fact you can choose what comes with your meal and build your own main
First time in Ipswich and we chose The Forge as has my hubbys favourite pudding ( bread & butter pudding) We had a fab meal, really enjoyed what we ordered. Great food choices. The Forge is lovely and all the staff were very welcoming, explained the menu through. If we are down that way again we will definitely visit. 😊
Service and food was amazing, cannot be faulted. Will definitely be returning!
Me and my boyfriend came here for dinner on Thursday night. Both our starters and mains were delicious. Will defiantly be returning in future.
Great night, all the food was fantastic, great taste and right portion sizes for us, atmosphere really good, and service was first class with really friendly staff.
Food was a bit slow to be brought out . Waitress was lovely!
The service was absolutely excellent! This is our new favourite restaurant in Ipswich.
I went to the Forge when it first opened and I was not impressed so when my colleagues suggested the forge, I wasn’t sure but my mind has been completely changed. The food was delicious, the cocktails were amazing and the service was great. The staff were always available and service was very quick!
The food was great and the two girls who served us were superb. Fabulous mojitos too! Will defibelt be back.
Great looking venue with a vibrant atmosphere. Staff were very accommodating with dietary needs and moving us inside when it began to rain. Definitely worth another visit
Another lovely evening spent at the Forge.
Excellent service, food was perfect. We will definately be back again.
Excellent food.excellent service
Great service and great food.
When we booked the table they said we could only have it for 1hr30mins so thought it would be quite rushed but...we were still eating our starters when they asked to clear them away. They asked because our main was already at the table (we weren't over running... still had over 20mins left of our allotted time before we asked for the bill). Service was really good but would have been nice if there was more time. We would have stayed for dessert and more drinks if we had longer. My fault because I know they say you can only have the table for x amount of time but you can sit and enjoy a meal in other places for similar price (if not cheaper). I would only go again if I wanted a quick bite to eat but I would not chose to have an evening meal there again.
It was lovely food but it would be nice and better value for money if the main dish came with something rather than having to buy all the extras/sides
Very nice evening, accomadated our change of plans with no fuss. Proper waitress understood her role well
Another excellent visit! Love everything about the Forge...drinks, food, atmosphere but most importantly the staff are so lovely and friendly too. I’ll be back on Saturday with my work friends!
Beautiful restaurant and great service from staff, was quite shocked to read on the bill £2.40 for a lime and soda and also my girlfriend ordered a Caeser salad which had fish in it- not a problem, would have just liked some warning, otherwise a good meal and will come again!
Had the Sunday roast, the food was excellent and the service very good. Would eat there again.
This is my first time lunching at The Forge Kitchen but I breakfast there most Saturdays. The staff are always excellent and the ambience is wonderful. The food is very good and I love the flexibility of the menu.
I was delighted with my glass of prosecco on the house for my birthday! My friend had a problem with her meal but it was rectified perfectly. Pleasantly suprised when the bill arrived. Really enjoyed the terrace. Delicious cocktails, I only wish I hadn't had the espresso martini before bed! Thank you
My husband and I really enjoyed our meals. I was very impressed with the vegan burger; it was moist, tasty and well presented with it's brightly coloured bun and beetroot dust. The restaurant is bang on trend with it's food and drinks offering the consumer interesting and exciting ingredients and new ways with food (charcoal and beetroot brioche buns, for instance), but I was a little disappointed in the range of soft drinks. I had a basic tonic water, which was flavoured with Juniper berry and, in my opinion, it spoiled the taste. I got the impression that the restaurant does not encourage family dining. I'd like to bring my children (aged 12 and 11) along, but they probably wouldn't find a drink they liked. I'm not suggesting that you add Fruit Shoot to the drinks menu, but is there no place for simple drinks like Coke, lemonade or Appletiser anymore? We sat upstairs on a bench seat overlooking the ground floor, which gave us a great, and somewhat fascinating view of the kitchen. We enjoyed watching the meals being plated up, which prompted me to ask a staff member what those black buns were.
