About The Forge Kitchen
Born from the heat, flames and stripped back elements found in the Blacksmith’s forge, our concept is simple - Food cooked as nature intended, no fuss, over smoke and fire with just a pinch of salt and pepper, or go full Forge with something a whole lot more indulgent...
It’s your choice - Forge it your way.
At the bar, a selection of seasonal and smoked cocktails, craft beers and hand-picked wines.
It's time to re-think the steakhouse.
We had an absolutely amazing night...food is out of this world, staff sooooo approachable & friendly plus great value for money. Of course we'll be back...Emma x
Delightfully delicious food
Lovely Christmas meal waitress was very nice.
The customer service from the events coordinator to the bar team and waiting staff was amazing. Thanks for a great night
Excellent food and service
We arrived at our dinner as planned and was taken to our table. A member of staff approached our table and asked if we would like drinks. As a table of just four we ordered a bottle of wine between us. When they brought over our wine they asked if we wanted water on the table. We said yes as but didn't realise said water was actually chargeable. I found this scandoulous as it was an offer and we never specified we wanted paid water when we had already paid for wine. Other establishments offer a jug of water as standard. Our three meals were lovely albeit not enough vegetables however they were very rushed and as soon as we finished one the next one is out, some may prefer this but for a four course meal, 5 minutes to breathe would be nice per course. After we finished our desserts, we were stared at, almost as if they were waiting for us to leave. I eventually had to approach someone to ask for our mince pies. The lady told me they had forgotten but brought them out. The mince pies were the only downside to the food, they were Mr Kipling mince pies at best. We then knew they were waiting for us to leave and asked for our bill. We were horrified to see that a £15 service charge had been added to our bill. We found this disproportionate for a small table of four. We would of tipped should this not have been forced upon us. I also couldn't see anywhere on the Christmas menu that a service charge would be added. Overall it seemed that the Christmas menu which seems very reasonable in price is actually more expensive than most other places when you include the service charge and the extortionate water. A service charge should be included for good service, rushed courses and waiting for us to leave is not good service.
Well looked after thank you
Fantastic, love this place!
Another fantastic visit to the forge: wonderful food, great service was enjoyed by all. Thank you :)
My friend and I were served by a Spanish (I think?) woman who had just returned from her holiday. She was fab! So friendly and funny too! She put up with the coughing fit I had when she came to take our order and was just an all round charming character. There was also a boy with piercings who was very polite when bringing over our food. They both made our evening superb!
Our waitress was lovely and so was the food!!
The service we received as a large party celebrating a birthday was excellent! Feedback from everyone was that they thought it was an excellent venue and they enjoyed their food. Many thanks.
Everybody was so welcoming and laid back, it was very busy and none of them stopped but they remained upbeat, happy, and had banter. The food was incredible. I genuinely ate so much I struggled getting up the hill on the way home. Haven’t had food with that much flavour ever. For how busy it was we felt like we had a really decent service time for both food, drinks, clearing away and the bill. Amazing value for money too, not expecting to spend under £40 (not including tip) for two adults to have a main and side each and alcoholic drink each. Overall we are over the moon with finding this place just a 10 minute walk from our front door too, and we will definitely be back!
Flavoursome food in the midst of a storybook setting surrounded by colourful company. Highly recommended.
Only downside was the 20% off ‘ blacksmith’ deal wasn’t added to our order which is a substantial amount for the 13 people that attended. The forge were very accommodating however as the table was only booked for 8. Great cocktails and very nice food.
From the moment we came in and were greeted by a barrage of sarcasm and jokes we were cringing. We thought that this would be a nice, quite classy place to have a birthday lunch but it felt like somewhere that was run by students with nobody actually in charge. The food was good (although it seemed a while before we got it) but a number of our requests seemed to be ignored by staff, or just forgotten and we had to ask twice for at least 2 or 3 things. It just didn't feel special. It makes you realise that even if the food is great, there is more to a good restaurant than great food.
I found the staff really knowledgable and friendly, the food was delicious and the staff were happy to help with decisions on how many sides to order etc! Will definitely come back.
Service was exceptional. We had such a lovely waitress. Food was amazing. Perfect place to celebrate my 30th and will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely time.
Fabulous as always
Service was great, food was ok . Also maybe offer for the future children’s portions (half size ooff the main menu)
The staff were very welcoming and made the whole experience lovely. Great food also.
Friendly staff, always ensured that we had a drink whilst eating. Would recommend to others and will be organising meals there again.
Everything excellent, and looking forward to our next time with you very soon
Excellent food - best beef ever had!
