About The Foresters Arms
A big hello from Greg and the team at The Foresters Arms, Lower Cumberworth!
The family, walker & cyclist friendly country gastropub
We are a family run business with over 25 years in the food and hospitality industry. With Greg at the helm and a great team of chefs and waiting staff, we strive to make your dining experience not only enjoyable and friendly but somewhere you will feel right at home!
All our food is homemade by our team of trained chefs using the freshest, highest quality ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible.
We like to describe our food as “simply good home cooked food with a hint of Italian and French cuisine with a modern twist.”
The names of our dishes are straight-forward; plain and simple,
as our focus is with the flavours and presentation
of our food!
The taste of perfection! We are dedicated to your taste buds!
“Our successful experience in national restaurant chains combined with sheer hard work will guarantee you’ll get high quality food and excellent service as standard.”
Lovely staff ,and absolutely beautiful food highly recommend,. Compliments to the chef.

For the the third week running we were the only table filling in track and trace I felt odd one out
Lovely food and good service. Staff are friendly and efficient..

Fantastic service from Emily and Emma very friendly and gave 100% attention and made us feel very welcome. The food was absolutely amazing.I have been telling everyone how lovely it was.We will definitely be booking again very soon.Thank you
Top drawer Greg and staff, keep it up
We are regular visitors. We always enjoy both the food and drinks on offer and the staff are friendly and helpful. During these unusual times we feel that the staff can’t be faulted on organisation and the following of the guidelines.
Extremely small portions. Soup just about covered the bowl which was a shame because it was lovely. Tiny portion of pate. Prices were not cheap for pub grub but would have been more acceptable if the portions were better sized I would not recommend because all family and friends live in Manchester
Great pub, lovely staff. Michael is a credit to your team. We visit regularly and hope to continue to support you through this difficult time. Obviously waiting time to be served has increased but this is to be expected with the new way of working. Thanks, keep up the good work. Jill
Even with Covid 19 restrictions a very good evening was enjoyed by the three of us.
Safe environment, great food and lovely staff
We had a very welcome drink at the Foresters on our 6 mile walk and will certainly call again. We sat at an outside table in the sunshine, the waiter service was attentive and friendly. Just the ticket for reviving us for the walk home!
Very well organised, as expected. Everything felt normal and easy.
We had a really lovely evening! The food was beautiful and the service was fantastic! The staff were attentive and were very friendly! We will definitely be coming back!! Thank you
Great food red hot very tasty, the two young staff that was on just brill ,smiley very helpfull, would definatly recomend to family /couples anyone
First time out since lockdown. Lovely meal, thanks to Alex. Nice speaking to Greg again. Will be back soon
Stake night the food was gorgeous & great value
Really enjoyed our meal, well presented and competitively priced
It was very nice from the food to the service the staff were very professional
Brilliant experience and wonderful staff - would highly recommend to everyone.
Service was slower than usual, but understandable due to the amount of customers/social distancing procedures in place. Great local ales on, but perhaps more variety - local Yorkshire breweries? Will be back in the near future.
