A big hello from Greg, Dawn and the team at The Foresters Arms, Lower Cumberworth!
The family, walker & cyclist friendly country gastropub
We are a family run business with over 25 years in the food and hospitality industry. With Greg at the helm, Dawn running the kitchen, a great team of chefs and waiting staff, we strive to make your dining experience not only enjoyable and friendly but somewhere you will feel right at home!

We like to describe our food as “simply good home cooked food with a hint of Italian and French cuisine with a modern twist.”
The names of our dishes are straight-forward; plain and simple,
as our focus is with the flavours and presentation
of our food!
The taste of perfection! We are dedicated to your taste buds!
“Our successful experience in national restaurant chains combined with sheer hard work will guarantee you’ll get high quality food and excellent service as standard.”
Amazing food, would 100% come back. Evie was our waitress for the night, amazing service! Thanks :)
class as always
Food as good as ever.
Excellent throughout. Greg and Dawn have done a wonderful job bringing this lovely place back to life.
Absolute class as always
The meal was enjoyed by the two of us, all staff were pleasant and helpful, another enjoyable meal experience.
Been quite a few times before this time was a larger party 18, all the food was hot served with a smileand everyone enjoyed their lunch, the only disappointment was GF , no bread available to go with the GF soup.
Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Lovely pub, hope to visit again soon.
Lovely atmosphere, very tasteful surroundings, great staff, very attentive will definitely be back, lovely evening.
Always excellent food with a wide range of choices along with good wine and gin and beer selection. The welcome is warm and staff attentive. Long may it continue! Well done Greg , Dawn & team for all your efforts and hard work.
Really good food and service, good value. It was a shame it was quiet as the restaurant didn’t have much atmosphere- maybe some background music? Could have done with the heating on too, my elderly parents were a tad chilly but I’m being picky really as the food was fantastic and the pub clean and well decorated
Took my parents and had a great evening. No complaints at all.
We have had a few meals over recent months and have not been disappointed once. Keep up the good work.
Be we been here but we will certainly be coming again it was very nice
10/ 10 on every visit!
all the food was well cooked and presented by friendly staff
Food is excellent. Would like some more local draught beers though say Small World or Mallinsons.
Loved the whole event. Booking, confirmation and subsequent amendment to timing all well handled.Food, service, accessabliity, parking all excellent. Looking forward to the next time.
Food was good. My wife and myself shared a Camembert we were asked if we would like extra bread which we we said yes. Not expecting to pay £2:50 for! Bit excessive don’t you think! Then when ordering pudding I wanted the sticky toffee pudding but didn’t want custard asked if I could have ice cream instead. Yes but there will be a surcharge of £1:50. Are you having a laugh! I had chocolate brownie with a scoop of pretty poor ice cream I was told it was an Italian speciality! I suggest you buy locally cause it weren’t great.
We had the Early Bird menu which was excellent value. Two people had the Southern fried chicken and felt a few more fries would have improved the meal. We all enjoyed it !
Had a lovely meal with family, the food was great and the atmosphere nice and relaxing.
Excellent food & atmosphere
Food was excellent as usual, service great, I must recommend the calves livers absolutely to die for.
Very disappointed! the service was slow, unattentive and uncorporative. We were a large party ranging from 2 years old to a lady in a wheelchair who had dementia, who was told she had to order from the adults menu and couldn't order a childs meal, bearing in mind she wouldn't really know what she was eating, a lack of understanding, a young staff without life experience, we spent over £300 but the experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons !!
Very nice meal and lovely evening
