About The Foresters Arms
A big hello from Greg, Dawn and the team at The Foresters Arms, Lower Cumberworth!
The family, walker & cyclist friendly country gastropub
We are a family run business with over 25 years in the food and hospitality industry. With Greg at the helm, Dawn running the kitchen, a great team of chefs and waiting staff, we strive to make your dining experience not only enjoyable and friendly but somewhere you will feel right at home!
All our food is homemade by our team of trained chefs using the freshest, highest quality ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible.
We like to describe our food as “simply good home cooked food with a hint of Italian and French cuisine with a modern twist.”
The names of our dishes are straight-forward; plain and simple,
as our focus is with the flavours and presentation
of our food!
The taste of perfection! We are dedicated to your taste buds!
“Our successful experience in national restaurant chains combined with sheer hard work will guarantee you’ll get high quality food and excellent service as standard.”
I was told I could sit at our table (I was a bit early) but I wasn't told where it was. At the same time I asked for tap water & glasses which never materialised. We were a group of 10 & we all enjoyed our food very much
Nice country pub and good food
Good food and service! The pricing structure for food was slightly odd compared to what I have seen in other similar places and the fish of the day although being very nice was over priced for what it was and could have done with a side other than new potatoes
Sunday roast chicken was one of the best we’ve had .congrats to all the team
Have been many times, service is always very good, food to die for, beer and wine very good. Value for money.
as usual everything was great, steak perfect wine very good, service very good.
Loved it!! Will be back again!
Food was freshly prepared, service was very good staff very helpful, we were not rushed. Although the GF menu was sperate my sister in law had some good choices from the main menu. We found the whole experience of dining in the Forester was very good.
Very good overall - not my first visit by a long way.
Great Sunday Roast
We booked a special buffet for a private party, and the staff team worked really hard to ensure that all went well for our event.
Just excellent! Food was gorgeous! Staff were Fab! Thank you.
Had a lovely evening celebrating the hubby’s 60th birthday
Very busy Easter bank holiday Saturday, also 60th birthday party. Service started off a bit shaky, improved as we went along. Food excellent as always, nice staff. We will be back next year, as we live in Spain, we always call in when we visit. Gracias
Really lovely meal at the Foresters Arms. We all had selections from the Tapas menu which was fab. The last minute booking a table online, was simple and easy
went on sunday tea time the food was verry good the service was excellent
The Tapas was very good.
It was excellent from start to finish. Service, food and price was amazing!
I have to say, the quality and presentation of the food was amazing. 10/10 to the chefs!
Had a great Mother's Day Meal on Sunday. It was great to see the restaurant so busy with happy diners.
We were a group of 14 and the overall lunch experience was enjoyed by everyone. Lovely atmosphere, value for money menu and friendly, efficient service. Already re-booked for next month!
Came highly recommended. Booked as a party of 6 for a special birthday. Although busy as clashed with Mother’s Day, we waited 75 to get 2 starters - both soups, both only luke warm. Should have complained at time but didn’t want to ruin special occasion. Custard also cold on deserts. We are not in the habit of complaining. Staff apologised just before soup arrived and gave us some bread to keep us going. They apologised again when we settled the bill stating there was a miscommunication with kitchen? Would still return at a quieter time when more extensive menu available to try it again.
Booked a table for four - three meat-eaters and one veggie. Something for everyone on the menu and everyone happy. Food came promptly and the service was courteous. A very pleasant evening was marred only by one of our party finding a fingernail in their drink on the very last sip. Our waiter was called over to the table and though extremely apologetic, didn't really know what to do in the situation. Maybe the waiting staff need a little more information/training from the management team on how to handle a situation like this should something similar arise in the future? Just a suggestion.
