About The Five Bells Inn Brabourne
The Five Bells is a stunning 16th century inn overlooking the rolling hills of the North Downs in East Brabourne. A quintessential English country pub with four gorgeous guest suites. Proud to have been twice voted Kent Life Pub of the Year and winner of Kent Pub of the Year at the 2019 National Pub Awards.
Our menus are based around the best local and seasonal produce the South Coast of Kent has to offer, showcasing the finest ingredients from land and sea. We are equally passionate about our drinks offering as we are our food with a fabulous range of beers, wines and ciders, sourced from the producers on our doorstep and further afield on the continent.
The Five Bells sits within The Pickled Egg Pub Company, a unique group of 4 beautiful Kentish Pubs around the South of Kent, all owned and operated by chef Mark Sargeant and restauranteur Josh De Haan.
Service was great. Food well cooked and well presented
4 of us went on a Friday night. Service was good and the food was ok. Chicken parfait was nice but the presentation was appalling, steak was a very good piece of meat well cooked but placing it on top of the chips was ridiculous. Just steamed the potatoes into mush. When you are paying around £50 a head with drinks you do not expect these basic mistakes. We have been regulars here for 8 years and the new owners have an awful lot of catching up to do.
Absolutely lovely lunch here with a friend using the 30% off deal so great value. Excellent service and very clean and friendly in these Covid times. Thank you so much we will be back.
Very nice pub. Felt safe re Covid. Wasn’t impressed with my starter, whitebait over cooked and fish cream watery in the main dish. The 30% discount was not taken off the he bill and we had to hustle to take it off. Service and food not a patch on The Duke William in Ickham.
Excellent venue . Food and service first class. Highly recommended.
Love our stay at the Five bells. Staff very friendly and helpful.
As always great food and wine 👌 We always have a lovely time at the Five Bells ! My son says , they cook the best burger in Kent !!! He knows his Burgers 🍔😂
I love this place! Even though I live 7 miles away I consider this to be my local pub and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone. The food choice now is fantastic, although being a veggie I would love to see more main course diversity; steering away from curry spices and maybe adding pasta choice would be spot on for me (I miss the Mac cheese that used to be on the menu). Snacks and Starter choices are plentiful and for meat/fish eaters there is something for everyone. Sunday lunches are a must and the ambience of the place beats everywhere else hands down. Dine here in the summer and you can enjoy artisan outside seating and wonderful undulating scenery. I can't wait to come back.
It’s becoming our “place to go”. Nice ambience, nice staff and great location.
We were celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday. We had a lovely meal. We were happily surprised with the glasses of bubbly when we sat down at our table. Thank you very much. The bubbly was especially tasty. . The servers were very good. The only let downs were: the roast beef wasn’t hot and it was very tough and chewy, very hard to cut I gave up in the end and left 2 slices out of the 3 behind. The veg was tasty and the Yorkshire puddings. The rosemary and garlic roasties were yummy but didn’t taste of rosemary and garlic? My husband’s steak was very nice and tender but the peppercorn sauce was very thin and not enough pepper to call it a peppercorn sauce. He questioned why he only had a tomato and one mushroom as well? The chips were excellent but the portion was slight for cost of meal. Puddings were delicious!!
Such a lovely pub with amazing, delicious food!! The service was great. They brought out the wrong order for one of our table by mistake but immediately went to rectify and gave them a complimentary drink. The only slight downside was that a two of the staff seemed to have a dispute which was a bit awkward but the manager dealt that straight away. We were really impressed by delicious food and atmosphere.
Best meal out we've had in a long time! Hats off to the chef- delicious cauliflower cheese and brownie in particular.
Hi, Food was fantastic and atmosphere was friendly and all you'd expect from a country pub. However after ordering our drinks it did take 16mins for them to arrive.
The pub is gorgeous; the service is great, with friendly staff; it would be nice to have a bit more variety for deserts like there used to be; but overall a fabulous night !
Food was outstanding, service was friendly and quick, and the overall experience was very Covid secure.
Had expectations and they were met. Happy customer, happy stay.
Lovely food amazing staff
Felt very safe with the new Covid measures! Very accommodating and service was perfect. Food and drink was fantastic.
As usual, the Five Bells never disappoints. Warm atmosphere, amazing food and drink, and first class service. The staff are extremely polite and look after you. Thank you.
Service was very good, it would have been 5star had the bill been presented with the 30% food discount correctly when it was requested. Just a little disappointed but it won’t put us off returning to an excellent pub with great food.
The five bells delivered on all levels for me. I love the informal atmosphere, but also enjoy the great food. I will return..
nothing to say really but all ok to me, thumbs up
The girl that served us was awesome and I hope she receive every penny of the tip we left
We had a lovely Sunday lunch experience. Thank you to the team for their wonderful service and delicious food.
