About The Five Arrows
The Five Arrows prides itself on simple, seasonal and British food. Our warm and welcoming restaurant is the perfect backdrop to enjoy freshly prepared food utilising produce from artisans and vegetables grown on the wider Waddesdon estate.
delightful afternoon tea, the food was gorgeous and the rooms were decorated beautifully. Joyful experience
Very good venue.
Very poor service. I waited 1 hour from time we booked to even order our food. The bar person got our drinks order incorrect. Waitress was rude when I was ordering and told me I had already ordered when I hadn’t. Overall very poor customer service and I refused to pay the service charge as it was so poor. On a good note the food was very nice but disappointing experience from a Rothschild restaurant.
This was the first time we have dined at the Five Arrows. The food was excellent. The staff were superb; nothing was too much trouble for them. We will be coming back soon and look forward to introducing our friends to the delights of dining there.
Perfect in every way. a couple of points: entrance ramp rather narrow for one person to assist a 2nd person (as in our case.). also a disabled toilet downstairs would be appreciated for those with limited mobility - or a lift?
A great meal to celebrate our birthdays. The whole experience was faultless from beginning to end.
Although I had booked and asked to be placed in main restaurant we were put in a corner behind a central fireplace consequently we were left for quite long periods without being able to attract the attention of a waitress/waiter. My steak was cremated to the point of being crisp on top even though I asked for medium to well done. My friends then finished their food and I had still not been served a replacement steak. When we finally were served our dessert s the Xmas pudding was cold. So unfortunately was not the best first impression of your restaurant. However the staff were very polite and tried their best under the circumstances.
Well done to all at this busy time . For the chef thank you for a perfectly cooked turkey so juicy .. Our guests from Sweden enjoyed a British Christmas luncheon and remarked how different it was from a Swedish Christmas meal. They loved the “pigs in blankets” the term seemed to fascinate them. The house champagne was exceptional as was the Peyr labade
Staff very friendly and happy making a very good atmosphere
Very friendly, welcoming and efficient staff. Room was very nice. Food not so great, but the staff resolved the issue quickly.
Reception was disorganised and were not aware we had arrived. Table was only laid for 4 and not the booked 5 persons. Waiting staff not proactive in offering sufficient milk or more tea. Nice table area.
Great evening with lovely food. We will be back.
Really enjoyed our afternoon tea, such a treat. Beautifully presented & the pastries & cakes were divine.
Great service from wait staff, albeit a little slow. Main course wasn’t great, undercooked etc. But was offered a replacement meal/additional veg at my request. Pudding was yum. I won’t be rushing to return but would give it another go and put it down to a bad night in the kitchen.
We came for my Mum's birthday which I had documented on the booking and confirmed on the phone when I was told you would arrange a birthday plate, that never materialised. We were slightly late for our booking due to traffic but when I called the lady was really helpful and accommodating. We arrived about 2pm and had ordered our meals and finished our starters by half 2, the mains then didn't arrive until after 3pm. The service was so friendly and accommodating but everything was quite slow. The area we were seated was lovely and private but I'm not sure if that contributed to the slow service as we were out of the way. The food was excellent.
Terrific festive afternoon tea. Looking forward to a return visit
A reliable restaurant for lovely food with professional staff.
The food was absoloutely delicious but the service was VERY slow, taking our order, serving first course, clearing away and taking over 20 minutes after we’d ordered coffee to tell us that the cappuccino machine wasn’t working! We arrived ten minutes early in any case and had a time slot at Waddesdon booked but we still had to forgo coffee no rush off, it really spoilt was was otherwise a lovely lunch. It wasn’t overly busy either. As I’d recommended the Five Arrows to my friends after a wonderful 70th birthday family meal in October I was very embarassed!!
We had the Christmas menu. Delicious throughout.
Food and presentation was excellent. Lovely staff. Will certainly come again.
Everything about this reservation was excellent. Thank you.
Bit much to ask for £5 per person for an extra sandwich! service charge should be discrinary
It was a lovely meal
I would like to thank you for the service we experienced in your restaurant, particularly the attention given to my granddaughter who has allergies to a number of additives in food. We intend staying at The Five Arrows in the future and recommending the hotel to friends and relatives.
Really enjoyed our lunch. Although we only wanted a light lunch & ordered only starters & sides, we were made very welcome. The staff were all lovely & Adam was very professional & looked after us extremely well. We will return.
