About The Five Alls
To The Five Alls at Filkins Cotswold Inn, a country pub, restaurant with rooms set in the picturesque Cotswold village of Filkins located between the historic towns of Burford and Lechlade on Thames.
With two restaurant areas, a large garden, a cosy alpine style snug with fireplace, a thriving village bar and four pretty double rooms designed by Sebastian’s sister, not to mention a large car park the pub has something to cater to all needs.
Portion sizes too small
Rather quiet today...
-The only issues were a broken table in the bar area being a health & safety issue that was not taken out of use inediately -the heating not working at breakfast so the area was cold despite a member of staff bringing out an old heater with broken wheels - no breakfast menus available and had to be told what was available - we were advised at lunch that we could order some hot food in the bar later I.e. dessert however all they had was crisps, nuts and olives. Having had a few drinks by then we were stuck for the evening with no food and unable to drive anywhere. A cheese board or similar would have been sufficient. - we stayed in room 8 and the lights were flickering in the bathroom Aside from the above lunch was excellent and the accommodation was lovely and the area with the fire was very nice.
Very tasty lamb. Fish was not cooked to our liking but kitchen happily remade the dish -- excellent the second time around. Servers were friendly.
Never been disappointed
Lacking in atmosphere, no heating on (it was a cool day) And why on earth with only 3 tables occupied were we all sat on top of each other, both the two other tables were far from happy with at least one table of four complaining to the waitress. With few customers and lack of background noise could not avoid other people’s issues but conservations, not good.
Enjoyed a fantastic three course dinner with friends the other night. The quality of the dishes was excellent and the service was friendly and very efficient. We will definitely return.
Just love the beautiful 5 All’s. I’ve been many times and food is always stunning.
Fantastic pub restaurant. Service and food top in Cotswolds.
We have been to the Five Alls many times before but today 5/11 very disappointing and had to complain as my roast beef meal was served warm at best which is disappointing as on all our previous visits the food had been amazing there was a discount on the bill but still disappointing as do enjoy a visit to the Five Alls
1st time dining here and everything was spot on - great family loving atmosphere enhanced by the adorable Molly (fluffy one) who greeted us at the fireplace. We tucked into Vacherin 'a deux' with delicious sourdough then Wild Duck 2 ways with Rosti (a little too oily) and the most tasty Game Cobbler with celeriac mash. The whole menu was a triumph - can't wait to return
Poor gluten free options. The menu had over half of the main courses crossed out leaving only 4 to choose from. Note - couscous is not gluten free yet this was offered! Disappointing choice.
Food a little disappointing today but service great as usual. Food has been much better on previous visits so probably just a blip.
Service was a little inattentive and there was very little vegetarian choice in the menu. I had the salmon teriyaki and it was good but very oily. Service was slow. Was not offered bread for the table, drinks had to be asked for. Just a little disappointed, especially as my guest was from the USA and I had deliberately brought him to this location for the experience and ambiance.
Really enjoy the atmosphere here and the food is gorgeous. Drinks a little too pricey... £8 for a G&T
Very relaxed and accommodating. Everyone was very kind to the children.
Our 4th visit to the Five Alls great service and excellent food as always
Fantastic place, the staff are all very polite and helpful, the food was second to none. I Would highly recommend to anyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My daughter recommended us and it was the best Sunday roast I have ever had out I would certainly like to come back when we are next in the area...
Never fails to please, gets better & better each time we visit. Seriously good, consistent food offer with attentive service. Well done Five Alls!!
I discovered The Five Alls just 2 weeks ago. I've now been twice in that period despite living nowhere near. Totally worth it; just a great place. Last night I took 2 friends I wanted to wholeheartedly thank for being so kind during a difficult time. And this was the place I wanted to take them to.
Interesting and slightly different menu with quite delicious food. Can highly recommend the duck and the steak and kidney pie. Attentive service. Good value mid week meal deal offer available . It was a shame that on a Monday night there was no draught beer after the weekend.
Great food and really friendly staff, 100% recommend.
first class as usual, superb food, good beer and wine. excellent young staff, great place. regards Jim&Fi
Disappointing after we'd heard rave reviews. Cheese souffle was the best my wife had ever had. The cheese and toast were the worst I'd had. The toast was like concrete. Remainder of the meal was no more than average. The young staff were OK but a little nervous and not very engaging. Loved the decor although a sofa in the bar was more shabby than shabby chic. The front of house lady also looked untidy and not what you'd expect in an upmarket eatery. We also overheard two other couples complain about their meal. Overall I believe they think they're better than they actually are. Sorry but please take this criticism in the constructive way it is intended.
