About The Fishery Restaurant
A little restaurant in Port St Mary, serving a delicious twist on a classic fish & chips experience.
We have already recommended to a few of our friends. And we will definitely be back.
I've been waiting for you to open and was excited to see your launch. Visiting for the first time on a Thursday evening I wasn't disappointed! Very reasonably priced, and great menu choice. We couldn't eat everything as the portions were very generous. We'll be going back to try out the weekend brunch next.
Really please loved the place. Please do decide to go there. The restaurant deserves your patronage.
Had 2 excellent meals here. The food is top quality and the service is well above other Isle of Man eating places. Lovely atmosphere so will definitely be going back.
Had lovely meal on Sat night but would have like more normal side order choices
Would be nicer when the restaurant gets their music licence as there was no atmosphere. Service was fine. Fish was bland, bit pricey for what the food is, may try again in future once it’s more established.
Staff, service, and food fantastic. Second visit and will not be the last.
the popcorn Queens were amazing!!
Superb first visit! Loved it!
We enjoyed our 1st visit. The fish and chips were good but the mascarpone peas disappointing. The starters which sounded ok were not so impressive. Some further thought needs to be given around the wine list and £7 for a glass of prosecco is eye wateringly expensive and will put people off returning. It would be good to see more crab and lobster on the menu and some more frilled fish
Main course brilliant. Starter over priced. Table seat way to hot we had to move which really spoilt first half of meal. Staff were lovely 😊
A great addition to the Isle of Man food scene!!
An amazing meal, truely loved the decor and food, great service an exceptional evening thank you
Party of four all had a starter and then found we could not finish the delicious main course. I know everyone has different size appetites but found portions too big. Maybe we will try a small plate next time. The food and service was amazing. We will be back.
Fantastic meal, everyone in our group couldn’t fault the food or the service. We will definitely be going again and highly recommended it. We need good restaurants on the island and I’d consider this amongst the best on the island.
Wonderful restaurant, beautiful bespoke decor, friendly and efficient service, and our starters, main course and dessert were all exceptional, with fresh ingredients and some really cleverly created dishes. We can’t wait to return, and are looking forward to The Fishery acquiring their license to play music, as that was the only minor issue.
No stars for any of the above but not able to submit with none. Really, really terrible-will never be revisiting. Waited over an hour for our meal (1 course and 4 were the same) blackened cajun fish but the fish was neither Cajun nor black but was overdone with mixed herbs on it. My husband's meal was forgotten entirely and arrived with different faijitas to the rest of us when we'd nearly finished ours - must have been a dash to the coop. Our sides were all forgotten except for one and had to be chased but even then arrived very spaced out throughout the meal. No alcohol price list was displayed by the bar and we were expected to order wine by describing what we would like without knowing the price!! So we drank water. It was the worst dining experience we've had here for years and so we didn't even attempt desert. Never again-although it gave us something to laugh about in the pub - over wine - afterwards. Will be posting to that effect on trip adviser. The decor is good though.
Menu pricing misleading as sides appear separately to main course but 2 sides were included. Starters limited and very expensive. £9.50 for 3 tiny fish cakes (balls). Sat 15 mins with menu before we had to ask for drinks list. No drinks menu available so no idea of pricing or what was available. Wait between starters and main course was an unacceptable hour. My side of vegetables was missed off and when I asked for them I was told they had run out of broccoli. Then had to wait for 2 bowls of microwaved veg while my dinner went cold. I then discovered the salmon was raw and had to send it back. By this point the meal was ruined for us. We were aware of three other tables around us with similar complaints. The bill was reduced by the cost of my meal plus a further small discount as was another party. I have been ill today so can only assume it was the raw fish.
The food was probably the worst I have ever had in a restaurant! And it was very slow to arrive. The waiting staff were very friendly. I loved the décor.
Service much improved on second visit. Food good. Poor wine selection.
Lovely food and sevice
Service was a bit slow on this occasion but not a problem AND you gave us free 'sides' as compensation. Well done! The food was well worth waiting for.
Lovely setting and the food was top restaurant quality. My husband and I will definitely be going again.
