About The Fishbourne
The Fishbourne is located in a picturesque and wooded enclave between the main towns of Ryde and Newport on the Isle of Wight. Situated close to the Wightlink Fishbourne to Portsmouth ferry terminal this makes us the ideal entry point to the Island to experience our quality dining and five beautifully appointed en-suite rooms.
Lamb overdone, portions small, smallest ice cream scoops I've ever seen, overpriced, inattentive service. For the price, I think you're living on your reputation, not living up to it.
Despite being not obviously busy, the service was very slow. It took an hour to bring us one course and the orders were incomplete. The chips were cold and the fish was served without its promised butter. A family nearby had to leave their meals unfinished as they had a ferry to catch and their meals were very slow in arriving.
Warm welcome. Friendly staff. Good food.
It's a beautiful place. Unfortunately, the food took an insane amount of time to arrive (sat down at 7, order taken 7.20, first course arrived 8.15), and my cod was cooked to death, and so dried out. The 'Crab Risotto' which accompanied it was overcooked and gloopy and was tasteless. The weather was good though.
Not impressed. When asked to swap parmentier potatoes for new potatoes my husband was told only 1 new potato would be served instead! So we had to pay for a side serving of new potatoes (£3.50) even though no parmentier potatoes were on the plate. Also, on requesting pouring cream with the cheesecake an extra 50p was on the bill for this!!
A lovely meal with friends who we had not seen for some time. Staff were very understanding and didn't rush us.
Very good food .
Great night. Sorry about the noise we made.😊
Very good experience. Food was great and the recommended wine was very good. Very pleasant owner and staff. Would definately return.
Unfortunately the day we visited - the staff were having severe problems with - Dishwasher had broken - the till was not working - and sadly the fryer was not working. The only food that we could order was sandwiches .
Wonderful fish and chips. Handy for the ferry. Was busy at lunchtime but a bit quiet!
Lovely pub! Great staff and great food x
Brought mum and dad over from the mainland to celebrate their retirement. Superb location for al fresco dining with a view in the sunshine! The only disappointment was lack of Aperol for the obligatory summer spritz but fantastic Pimms with all the trimmings was rustled up instead. Lobster and crab salad special was a triumph.
This was a lunch gathering of old work colleagues. The whole event was well enjoyed and the food, service and venue were excellent.
Lovely old Pub with a nice selection of Food and Drink available. I normally stop here to have a dinner before boarding the nearby Ferry service. Food is very nice and the staff are friendly!
Had a fabulous meal, lovely staff, great atmosphere. Definitely will go back
Lovely family lunch time celebration here with good food and excellent, friendly service.

Booked on line, table was ready and waiting for us. Staff very efficient and helpful. Enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast.
The 2 for 1 deal at £20 is excellent
