About The Fishbourne
The Fishbourne is located in a picturesque and wooded enclave between the main towns of Ryde and Newport on the Isle of Wight. Situated close to the Wightlink Fishbourne to Portsmouth ferry terminal this makes us the ideal entry point to the Island to experience our quality dining and five beautifully appointed en-suite rooms.
Special steak night deal was excellent with a really good bottle of wine.
Good covid safety procedures. Very nice place to have an eve meal at this strange and challenging time. Thanks very much to all staff there.
Main course could have been a bit hotter.
the staff were very attentive and helpful. And I was impressed with the precautions they took for the Covid. We all ordered pheasant and asked if it had been hung to which they replied it had been elsewhere. Sadly, they were all very tough and dry and we had to ask for a steak knife to cut into it. The potatoes around it were very tasty.
The evening we spent at The Fishbourne was perfect, the food and service was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Friendly and efficient. As good as it could be considering the restrictions.
Lovely place, shame about the covid stuff but what can you do? Enjoyed our lunch, reasonable price.
We dine here fairly regularly. The ambience is of a traditional Isle Wight pub, with a pleasant dining area. The service is responsive, courteous, and timely. The food is always well prepared and tasty, and there is good choice of ale, wines, and other drinks. All that we want is here !
I got a very generous piece of ale battered cod!
Lovely staff, excellent Vegan breakfast
The Fishbourne is our local pub and we are never disappointed. Fabulous food, friendly staff with great service.
Excellent safety measures in place. Great friendly service. Fish and chips delicious. Huge portion. Relaxed atmosphere , not hurried at all.
We must continue to eat out to ensure employment in the hospitality sector. Difficult times need solutions and courage 🙏🏻
The food was delicious. The pub is beautiful. The service was a little slow but as holiday makers we just soaked up the peaceful atmosphere and enjoyed the total relaxation of it all. If you're in a hurry prob best to check how long things will be, if you're not, then sit back and chill out. I highly recommend this lovely Inn...
Service was excellent. Friendly pub that cooked a delicious breakfast.
Lovely lovely food when waiting for the ferry to board.
What a lovely pub and the food was excellent! We had Sunday lunch, all cooked beautifully. Very friendly staff who were very helpful. Would highly recommend and we will go back *****
The staff were very helpful and the whole experience of the meal was good
Great Sunday lunch with friends in lovely surroundings. Great service too
We love the Fishbourne Inn as it is local to us but often leaves us disappointed which is a real shame. On this occasion the chef forgot to include bacon and cheese in the burger meal and the chicken in the special meal was very over cooked and tough. The waitress apologised but that was it. We were the only other table in the restaurant and whilst the Fishbourne do have very good adherence to COVID rules, they sat us right next to the other group, with the rest of the restaurant empty?
Came here for Sunday roast and all sold out by 5:30, ordered small ham and egg, egg was over cooked and ham looked like it was fresh out of a bag, could not fault the staff were friendly and welcoming. Would not recommend the food once we arrived table in the restaurant were a mess from previous customers all whist being the only ones in that area.
Have dined at fishbourne many times over the years. However last night everything was ok apart from the pub being really cold
The food was nice enough, typical pub grub, but the service was shockingly appalling - we went for a quick drink in the afternoon and for dinner a couple of days later and both times it was painfully slow, such that we had to go up to the bar multiple times to get service, even though there was table service. Would not recommend.
