Very enjoyable experience, waiting staff attentive, nice range of menu options, Dodd very tasty and above ‘pub grub’, premises tidy and very clean, excellent attention to social distancing (felt very at ease)

Food was ok, steak a little overcooked and not many healthy options to choose from. We arrived at 7pm, but by the time we enquired about dessert we were told that the kitchen closed at 8pm! It would be helpful to notify guests about this when they arrive. Very glad it wasn’t raining as the sail wouldn’t have kept us dry outside!

I thought the food was very average and very expensive for what we received. We visited last summer in between lockdowns and the food was better and better value. We where very disappointed. I actually felt ripped off . The burger was dry and to receive no side salad with other than a small pot of coleslaw I thought was not good enough. 7 of us dined and none of us were impressed. My other family members where visiting and by sheer coincidence ate at the pub on Monday too snd were not impressed either . Very expensive very ordinary and no flair . Blacksmiths arms or the reef are our normal choices

Being a visitor isle of wight it took a lot of reseach to find a reputable place to dine.This was a HUGE dissapointment.First impression of customer service was appauling. I ring the bell for servie, 20 minutes later still waiting,press again,service arrives with a rude remark "It is annoying when you keep pressing the service button" if I knew where else to go I would have left immediatly. Patio heating, what a joke, it covers the few middle tables only, we froze. The food was dry and cold, not to mention the sediment in the wine. Last but not least, at the end of the evening I am told that the waiter told another customer if we dont stop ringing the service bell we will be thrown out. How rude. So no we will never be going back

Would welcome more vegetarian options on the menu (only two on there). We were surprised to see staff hold glasses, as opposed to carry them on a tray due to covid risks. Also disappointed to see the waitress carry our ice cream bowls with her thumbs inside the bowl, again due to covid risks.

Cannot daily our visit to the Fishbourne. Great friendly service and safe covid protocols from start to finish. Full menu choice plus the blackboard -the mini-portions ofmain dishes are a great idea if you fancy something smaller. Well presented food, good portions and really tasty. Lovely gardens and view of the sea a bonus. Will definitely return when I next visit the IOW.

Walked to the Fishbourne from Ryde - a lovely walk - and we were greeted and shown to our table by a friendly waitress who brought us menus and explained the 'button system' for calling someone. A beautiful spot for an evening drink and meal, if only the weather would warm up a bit! Enjoyed our evening - thank you :-)

Sadly, it was a very disappointing visit. 15 minute wait to be seated and an hour just to get drinks. Then long wait for food and the bill. The meals were small portions for the price with items missing although it was tasty. There’s something very array with the button system. The service was not good and we felt ignored most of the time, not the best birthday lunch! A real shame!

The staff were amazing and it’s no fault to them but the overall experience was shocking! We have been to the fishbourne on several occasions and have always been happy. I know that it’s challenging times but there were so many flaws which could have been easily rectified to make us satisfied. Firstly we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated for a booked table and no one knew where to queue! Having them fit a table we pressed the buzzer to be served. After about 10 minutes a waitress handed us the menus and left. We then pressed the buzzer to order. Orders placed and out food order came out before our drinks at this time we had waited almost an hour! Other tables were waiting longer for drinks. Over the course of the time we were sat there several tables waited an hour for drinks and some left! We over ordered our drinks to ensure we did not have to wait. I would have thought that getting drinks out for customers would have been a priority. But the lack of coordination was unbelievable! Our food well the chips were stone cold yes they were replaced but the ham baguette which sounded amazing was awful. One slice of thin ham with no other fillings in well I wouldn’t even describe it as a baguette! And you were charging £8! We asked it to be removed from our bill. Overall I’m very disappointed and won’t be coming back in a hurry. Such a pity as you could have been so much better. Please note the staff deserve a pay rise they were simply not enough to cope and they were very helpful.

Thank you for a lovely meal! The outdoor area looks great and the sails are a good addition. I don’t know if you have patio heaters or fire pits but they would be good. The food was lovely and there was a lot of choice on the menu.

We appreciate covid has hit everyone, we thought we would try local to help out... sadly long waiting times to be seated, slow service, no kids menu, or kids drinks except warm cordial, dirty pint glass and overpriced. Sadly won’t be returning.
