The new menu is well worth the wait. The food is exceptional and the description does not do it justice - the undercover parfait was to die for! the rabbit was devine also ham hock presse delicious. The main course of Aberdeen angus short ribs was sticky juicy and very moreish - the presentation was beautiful! The venison was a triumph wanted to eat more but just couldn't. Can't wait to visit again next month to try more of this great menu. As usual the staff are a credit to the hotel. Keep up the good work of improving month on month.
It was really good, and staff were very nice
Great food and service
Had a great day on Sunday afternoon, day after Wedding, some food and drink for a fairly large crowd, staff very accommodating (re arranging furniture outside to suit etc).
Well organised for our party. Food arrived quickly and delicious, the bruschetta was a bit soggy but still enjoyable, Bar staff , waiting staff , management all very nice made sure we where looked after. Fantastic drinks menu.. great choice Overall you made my 5oth celebration very enjoyable
We had a lovely afternoon in the outside seating area. After an initial confusion about whether we were having lunch or afternoon tea, which was resolved straight away, we enjoyed excellent service from our waiter Paul and even better food. No complaints: we couldn’t have had a nicer lunch.
Main Course Land and Sea was excellent unfortunately starter and desert did not live up to the same, bread came to the table after the main the setting is their it requires a lot of fine tuning in Bridge of Allan you should have people queuing up at the door
Very nice food and staff service was excellent
Lovely place with a nice relaxed atmosphere. We did find the service was quite slow in both the restaurant and the bar. Possibly more attention to detail, the Prosecco glasses didnt look patricularly clean, the bill was wrong as we had been charged for 2 bottles of Prosecco at 2 different prices. We also had lunch added to our bill which was already paid for by voucher prior to our drinks bill.
8 as usual the food and drink were good and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed. The staff as usual go the extra mile. The restaurant supervisor Leanne was helpful, attentive but not intrusive and made a birthday meal so much better by arranging with the chef for me to have food to suit me by combining and adapting two mains from the menu as one main course. Well done to all concerned for a lovely birthday meal.
Despite being quiet the service wasn’t anywhere as professional as I would have expected from your group of hotels. As for the food our starter (mezzo veg platter) appeared to come from a jar and the bread was cold and dry. The Niçoise salad didn’t justify being called Niçoise and I have had bigger side salads. At £12 we were disappointed. Sorry but you need to up your game or you will close.
We attended Fifty Five for my daughter's Graduation meal. Service was excellent and friendly waiting staff. Food was excellent and very tasty. Would definitely visit again and would recommend this in future.
Graduation Menu was delicious and great value. Staff were excellent in particular Murray behind the bar and Grant who’s service was 1st class. Small suggestion please rethink your bread board as was poor and rolls were too hard.
My family and I recently ate here as part of my graduation celebration! We were given the graduation menu which was a great deal!! The food was excellent, delicious! The service was great - the manager (didn't catch name) and our server, Princess, couldn't do enough for us. After dinner, we sat out on the new terrace which was just lovely. Overall an excellent evening!
Lovely setting. Meal was tasty and surroundings relaxed.
Service at afternoon tea was fine but we decided to go out on the terrace for drinks and the service was poor.
This was a return visit for a comlimentary Afternoon tea which was in response to a complaint from our first visit. I am pleased to feedback that the selection of cakes and service was very much improved on this occasion. Thanks go to Andrew for his professional approach in handling our complaint.
1. Scottish waiter extremely broad accent and spoke quickly so had to ask repeat 4 times. 2. 3 of us had steak delivered on paper on board sp once sauce poured paper turned into mache and got bits of paper in with steak when eating. 4th person ordered Thai fish curry with nannies bread. No Nan but cold tortilla wraps so sent back and asked for fish and chips, told no haddock but only battered salmon. Sid would have that. Served smoked haddock & chips. Starter portion, obviously chef made do and not what was ordered but by this time other 3 persons had eaten so just ate it but not happy. Ordered drinks and had to ask twice for one beer order. After 30 minutes served 2. Took one away. Expensive dining for very poor food and service. Was there to treat friends on their 40th wedding anniversery And felt severely let down and embarrassed as had been before and was great. Won’t be returning or recommending it to any of our friends. Informed waiting staff of our concerns on night but still charged full price and nothing done to try to fix. Never again..... fix the problem as could be lovely but awful embarrassing experience for us.
Initially when we sat at the table we were attended to to get drinks and food order. My husband asked for his burger to come without a certain thing on it and it came with it on. When the food was sent back it felt like it was inconvient to the staff to take it back. The food was good however. The plates were cleared and we had desserts. After finishing these we sat for at least 45 when no body came near us to clear the table, ask if we wanted anymore drinks/coffee. I could understand this if the restaurant had been busy but it was ourselves and one other table in. When my father in law went to pay the bill he brought it up in conversation with the staff member who was far from sorry for our experience. She did eventually say sorry but you could tell it was because she felt she had to say it rather than meaning it. Based on this service I’m not sure we will be back in the future.
Had a lovely lunch with drinks on the terrace in the sun. The food was delicious, the surroundings lovely and the service was outstanding. The staff ciuldn’t have been any more helpful and nothing was a problem. I would definitely recommend a visit to this lovely place.
I felt there could have been more courteousy checks at regular intervals rather than asking how did you enjoy that when clearing away.Courteous checks are a chance to upsale.Other than that it was a good experience and what we would expect from a Stephan McLeod establishment.
Afternoon tea was rather disappointing - wouldn't have it again, but the food on the main menu is great. What you are really failing at is good customer service - very young staff, some of whom tend to wander around totally oblivious to customers and their needs. On one of my visits I waited 30 minutes for a glass of wine. I reminded several members of staff that I was still waiting. My wine took so long to arrive, I asumed someone was away to crush the grapes. Still a great place though, been there a few times and will be back.
A great big thank you to Andrew and his team for an outstanding, professional customer service! I had taken my daughter for lunch, her first time, she loved it especially how we were taken care of and the delicious food ofcourrse. She messaged me later and said we should meet there for lunch/dinner more often which in itself is a massive compliment and one of which I totally agree on. Thank you again Andrew & co for making our lunch a special one. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this restaurant to anyone !! Good Job!!
Service a bit slow. Waited ages to receive our bottle of wine that was ordered and when it arrived it was different to what was on the menu. Food over priced for portion size. Staff also struggled to make a proper liquer coffee. Much prefer the Jam Jar for quality and service. Wont rush back
Fantastic service, staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
