About The Evenlode
The Evenlode at Eynsham is an iconic landmark pub dating from the 1930s and is located on the A40 between the city of Oxford and the market town of Witney close to the Cotwolds.
The Evenlode has been refurbished and remodelled to the highest standards and will be offering great, freshly-cooked food all-day everyday from 7.30am each morning, serving breakfast and coffee with an option to take-away. A good selection of real ales and fine wines will be available, together with a wide range of other bar products.
If you enjoy outdoor dining, we have two extensive terraces: a very sunny one that hugs the side of the building to beat all the elements, and one with cool shady areas — both seating up to 80 people. We also have a private dining room that seats up to 15 very comfortably, as well as a meeting room for business.
With easy access off the main A40 road and ample parking, The Evenlode makes a perfect destination or stop-off venue. This is a wonderful pub for local village residents and a firm favourite for the nearby populations of Oxford, Witney and surrounding villages.
We very much look forward to welcoming customers, both old and new, to the Evenlode. Please check this website or our Facebook page for further news and offers.
Great gluten free choice. Friendly service. A little quiet but it was Easter Saturday!
Going from an amazing meal on mother’s day to a mediocre at best, meal on Sunday, service very slow, food was cold and beef barely cooked and tough, it was very disappointing. Because of such a fantastic meal previously we tried it again but will have to say we probably won’t be back.
Excellent food, lovely setting, clean and tidy.
The beef roast was highly overpriced for what was offered, the 'veg' being just steamed cabbage and cucumber and a small amount of mash? No carrots or parsnips to be seen. Fatty beef. Slow service.
Lovely place great staff
Pie from the specials board was yummy. We had a lovely meal.
Lovely venue, lacking on the food side apart from the fish and chips!!
A lovely family mother’s day 😃
We did have to get our own drinks from our table. Service a bit slow but it was Mother’s Day so very busy. It wasn’t a problem for us
Very nice meal. Could have slightly more variety on menu but it was lovely. Really like pub and staff.
Very welcoming and helpful staff. There for Sunday lunch which offered a good choice.
Service could have been better however food was lovely.
Great service, nice food, easy to book online
First time I’ve been and would definitely go again
Can't believe it wasn't busier!?
Lovely pub, generous portions but not inexpensive so glad they were well sized! Only slight disappointment was I thought there was a children’s play park in the photos but it’s gone now.
Too brightly lit in the dining area. The artisan bread had the appearance of a part baked roll. Service was superb. Value for money. So so.
Helpful smiling staff, we had four lovely roast dinners: roast potatoes were disappointing as they were very hard (either been heated twice or borrowed from Aunt Bessie or both?) the side of cauliflower cheese was really delicious, our request for a doggy bag was happily obliged. Would recommend, will return: even hard spuds couldn't keep us away!!
i attended for the 3rd time on 3rd February. Food standard has dropped. i had 3 meat roast. Chicken was small, beef was tough, Roast Potatoes were not crunchy they were chewy as you could tell they had been pre-cooked or out on the pass for too long. Dinner was also warm but not hot. Prawn Cocktail starter was tasteless in a little bowl with a bit of lettuce, no effort put into this. Standards have dropped. i am now unlikely to visit again. Service was also slow 30 mins before courses probably due to being busy.
Good food, I would have preferred larger portions though. Lovely place and all on one level which was good for my wife who is in a wheelchair
Delicious, well-cooked food, great value for money too!
Lovely food, good service, the restaurant was quite quiet hence the lower rating on atmosphere.
My sister in law had to send steak back as it was well done not medium rare. No problems and returned quickly. My lamb was nice but small for the money. However 2for one made it good value !
My wife and I had a lovely meal. The decor was really smart, uncluttered and very relaxing. The food was excellent both taste and presentation. It was very quiet, especially for a Saturday night. Sadly when we left there was no staff about, nor behind the bar for us to say thank you. Will return.
Brilliant service and food. 5th time I’ve been in in about 18months and can not fault the value for money or the quality of service or food.
