About The Evenlode
The Evenlode has been refurbished and remodelled to the highest standards and offer great, freshly-cooked food every day with an option to take-away. A good selection of real ales and fine wines will be available, together with a wide range of other bar products.
If you enjoy outdoor dining, we have two extensive terraces: a very sunny one that hugs the side of the building to beat all the elements, and one with cool shady areas — both seating up to 80 people. We also have a private dining room that seats up to 10 very comfortably, as well as a meeting room for business.
With easy access off the main A40 road and ample parking, The Evenlode makes a perfect destination or stop-off venue. This is a wonderful pub for local village residents and a firm favourite for the nearby populations of Oxford, Witney and surrounding villages.
We very much look forward to welcoming customers, both old and new, to the Evenlode. Please check this website or our Facebook page for further news and offers.
Great staff and great food- thank you so much for a great afternoon! The Christmas menu was good value and delicious, the server was very friendly and helpful and the barman was really nice and welcoming! Well done- this was our second visit which was equally as nice-we will definitely be back - thank you so much
We enjoyed our meal. However the website doesn’t correspond with the reality of the restaurant. For example, our table was booked for 12, so naturally we arrive 10 to 15 minutes early, to be made to wait outside in the cold because they don’t open till 12? It clearly states on the website they open at 11. Also, and this is personal choice, but I don’t like to see a service charge on the receipt. It’s quite presumptuous and I think that the customer should determine the tip they wish to leave based on the service received. Other than that, was lovely
Lovely food, friendly staff, for a large restaurant area it has a cosy country atmosphere. Would recommend
As usual the food and service were excellent, rhe welcome was warm and friendly and the atmosphere was wonderful. I have no reservations whatsoever about recommending the Evenlode to anyone.
Refreshingly helpful and friendly. We will use again for business lunches.
We had a really lovely meal, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great.
Fantastic meal as always from Dave, Sam and the team, best steak I’ve had in ages! My partner loved her butternut squash risotto too. Thank you for the great service
Lovely food, great service
We had a lovely lunch. The food was really good. Service amazing. Only one thing was the wine was quite expensive.
It was a very nice experience, excellent food and drink, friendly and it felt very safe. A nice place to visit after a long break.
Nice meal and the service was very good.
Pleasant staff good food
I felt I wasn’t taken seriously enough when I had to ask for my chicken to be taken back due to being undercooked and the bread was soggy and stuck to the plate
Excellent and professional staff. The food was really good and value for money.
Lovely staff very friendly
I was completely surprised to be asked to provide my information again despite having filled it in during my onliine booking and registration. I clearly stated this fact when I arrived. Fortunately the person did not push the issue and accepted this. If they had not I would have walked out. Sounds petty, but I hate filling in forms more than once. The waitress was very good. Some mistakes in the food!! i.e. no salted caramel ice cream, vanilla supplied, chiabata not baguette with main meal but no explanation as to the substitutions. We were not the only people to pick up on this. The cost was very expensive compared to the local competition.
Staff were really lovely - we had two young babies and they were very helpful with this.
Enjoyed a very good meal, the service was very good with friendly staff. Looking forward to going again soon.
Really good food and lovely staff !
Great food and service.
A good venue for a business lunch. Tables well spaced and not too noisy so easy to talk. Food is consistently good and service always super professional and never intrusive. One colleague is coliac and dairy intolerant and it was still possible for her to have a good choice of meals, including gluten-free fish and chips. Well done The Evenlode!
Lovely waitress good service. Food very average but nice.
Visited for lunch with colleagues. Food was fantastic, excellent value, waitress was brilliant. My only small complaint would be the time it took. From ordering to receiving our food was around 30mins. It was busy but this wait time makes popping in on lunch break difficult.
Excellent food and really good value in a friendly atmosphere
The food wasn't great on our visit my friend had the pasta and it was burnt and really expensive as well. I had sticky toffee pudding and it was burnt and extremely dry. My friend also found a hair in her pudding but no one came and asked if everything was OK. Disappointed.
