About The Estate Grill
Welcome to The Estate Grill, our contemporary restaurant, which is a reflection of our commitment to providing locally sourced, simple dishes whilst surrounded by the best of British art.
The Estate Grill uses outstanding ingredients, many of which are grown on our estate and freshly picked each day. Our extensive kitchen garden and glasshouse, supply us with a variety of seasonal herbs, fruits, salad leaves and vegetables. When ingredients are used that have not been grown or reared on the estate, they are sourced locally where possible. Executive Head Chef, Marc Hardiman, has a straightforward and honest approach to food. He uses only the freshest ingredients, preparing them simply with a splash of culinary flair allowing the flavours to shine through.
Free range Gloucester Old Spot crossed with Middle White pigs for the ‘Butcher’s Block’ are bred and reared at the bottom of our garden and our apiary provides the most delicious honey for use in a number of dishes.
Life-the-Gallery exhibits complementing changing art in The Estate Grill, all of which is available to buy. Our current exhibition is by Tessa Pearson. Please speak with a member of staff or contact Kerry Kelly on 07774 924643 if you require any further information.
The cheeseboard portions could be a little larger, other than that everything was wonderful.
A great afternoon tea for a birthday treat. The Staff were friendly and attentive, the House and Gardens are a wonder to explore. We will return for another visit. Minor gripe, I prefer to leave a tip rather than have a service charge automatically added.
My guests and I were so pleased with the whole experience and the wait staff were all personable and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble
All of the staff at Great Fosters are exceptional. Always polite, respectful and friendly. Food is delicious.
We came for my daughter's birthday and we had a lovely time.
Very pleased with all aspects of our time there, will certainly recommend it to all my friends and family
The food was lovely and the venue was stunning with friendly staff greeting us. We where reminded more than once that the afternoon Tea had a 2 hour window, so I felt pressured to get finished and out at 4.30pm. I had ordered a Gluten free meal prior and the reception was very helpful, however when we asked for a veggie option also I did feel that this wasn't as accommodating on the day, and told we should have reserved, whilst we did end up getting this option in the end. I felt the service could have been better, we didn't get drinks toped up and they went cold, we where never asked for refills like I have had before in other venues. I got charged a service charge £7.95, which I feel should be optional and another charge of £7.95 on top of that, but was not told what this was for - maybe for asking for gluten free, or tap water maybe? so it was very expensive. But overall it was a pleasant experience.
Amazing food, beautiful house, fantastic staff. Thank you.
I booked afternoon tea for my mum's birthday and they brought out a lovely little cake for her without any prompting - it made her feel very special! We always enjoy dining at Great Fosters - the food is wonderful and it's truly magical place!
The Service from staff was superb and friendly and could not fault it. The Menu was somewhat limited and food combinations for me did not work within some dishes. However, the overall experience plus the building was very good.
Excellent service as always. Our favourite place in the world. Thank you again. See you soon.
We were intrigued as to why we were served 2 crumpets between 4 of us. However on checking bill later we saw we were charged these as an extra so realise we probably received someone else's order. This is not meant as a complaint but merely a comment and at least solves the riddle of 2 crumpets between 4 people!!! Otherwise a superb experience. Thank you
A beautiful venue let down by an average meal.
Delicious food & appreciated wine recommendation from the sommelier.
We had a really great experience at Great Fosters celebrating our mother's 70th Birthday. A beautiful location, and stellar service, with both quality and quantity of food and tea at a reasonable price. We were particularly impressed by the professional and attentive staff - particularly our table servers, who really made the experience special. Job well done! :)
Went to celebrate my sisters birthday, had a lovely time. It was a beautiful sunny day so we also enjoyed the walk in the garden.
Very helpful staff, we felt welcomed. It was a real treat, we would highly recommend afternoon tea
Beautiful food and plenty to eat.
We loved coming back to Great Fosters. The afternoon tea was so exquisitely elegant. My American friends just loved the cosy atmosphere after visiting Hampton court palace in the morning. We had a little photo op in the privacy of the gardens and only wished we had booked in for the night. But we moved on to Highclere Castle which was disappointing in so much that the afternoon tea was expensive and very disappointing in comparison to your excellence.
Afternoon tea at the Great Fosters is a great experience - fantastic location and very attentive service
We have taken Afternoon Tea at top London Hotels and tearooms and this was by far the best for ambience, quality of food, especially the fresh, warm scones, and attentive service. Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommended.
Some of the sandwiches were stale which was really disappointing, they were clearly made at the start of the afternoon tea sittings but by 5pm...stale!
It was an absolutely delicious meal. We'll definitely come again, though we were a little surprised that the children's roast is the same price as the adults.
A fantastic experience, the same as we had last time we were there. Very enjoyable, friendly staff, very attentive and delicious food. We will be going back.
We went to the Estate Grill to celebrate my Birthday and had the most lovely evening. The food was delicious - I had the Quail followed by the Pineapple desert. The mint tea was accompanied by a delicious selection of Petit Fours, which I barely had space for! The staff were attentive and the whole service was perfect. I could not recommend it more highly.
