Booked a table for 9 people’s for my wife’s birthday on 18-01-20 @ 19.00,great table location for us, a long booth with 4 chairs, nothing was too much bother as I was back and fore to Barbara getting the set menu the way I wanted, plus we were allowed to decorate the table,(done by them),food was great, especially the steak, big portions, service was great, very attentive to our needs, the restaurant is a lovely place, well worth a visit,1st time there and we will definitely be back,10 out of 10 all round.
Lovely food in lovely surroundings
This was our first visit and we had a lovely night with friends and will return.
The waitress at our table was excellent. Our food was delayed and she was very apologetic. We would return for the service alone! Hard to find good service in Aberdeen. Food really good too. Overall a good visit. Thanks for making my daughter's 21st special.
Very nice lady who served us - did not feel rushed
First visit - won’t be our last. One slight downside is the background noise level. The minimalist decor means there’s nothing to absorb sound, making all but the closest conversation a bit of a challenge!
Service was perfect....
Great evening. Lovely food and spot-on service.
Friendly staff, great service, food delicious & great value - my husbands birthday meal was made extra special too! Highly recommend.
Great food and a great atmosphere with super friendly staff. A very enjoyable experience.
Nice relaxed atmosphere
We were waiting too long for our food, was very slow service in half empty restaurant.
Delicious food, great service, good atmosphere and decent prices. What else could you ask for. Will definitely be back.
This was our first visit to the Esslemont . The food was nice, however nothing stood out particularly . Service was polite, courteous and efficient . Ambience. Felt was lacking. Conversation with my husband was very difficult as noise levels in restaurant very loud. We will at some point be back, but can’t see this as a regular haunt for us
First time here and we will 100% be back. Everything was brilliant.
9 of us enjoyed a lovely lunch in a private room. Food was very good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely rebook.
Service was terrible from entering to leaving. The waitress was lovely. It wasn’t her fault, they were definitely very short staffed and it was busy. We waited for several minutes at the door before anyone appeared. The barman finally shouted that someone would with with us in two minutes. Food was very good.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, food was great
We had a lovely family meal, one guy in particular so helpful and really made our visit a good one. We’ll be back for sure
great for a team night out, couldn't fault it.
From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. Service was good and not rushed. Staff continually asked is we required anything more but weren’t pushy. We were allowed to sit and enjoy our coffee and didn’t feel pressured to leave. Will be back
Excellent service. Great children’s menu.
Excellent food, marvellous service though we were early in the night. Even seating us early than our reservation due to taxi being one of the quickest in Aberdeen! Many thanks for a great meal!
I had been really looking forward to coming after hearing many good things about the place. I opted for the roasted aubergine main and my boyfriend the shin of beef. Where he couldn't fault his at all, my aubergine came and was undercooked. I understand aubergine can be a tricky one to get right (after several failed cooking attempts on my end!) But a poke with a wee skewer in the kitchen would have soon shown the chef that that aubergine was still crunchy, not a desirable texture for aubergine. However, everything else on the plate was delicious and I ate it all. I did complain at the restaurant and it was deducted from my bill, but as we only went for one course and wine, it literally left a bitter taste in my mouth. The staff were friendly when they were there, but considering the restaurant wasn't very busy, I can't say they were very attentive, and we didn't have one consistent server during our visit. Considering there isn't a huge selection of vegetarian main courses, I'm not sure if I'm in a hurry to return, which is a shame.
Great food and service!
