About The Emperor
A beautiful rural pub set on the edge of the Burnham Beeches.
The pub itself dates back to the late 1700's and has been a part of the local community ever since.
Warm and welcoming with freshly prepared meals and local ales.
Lovely evening def come back
Good pub grub
Very friendly helpful staff
Great food and a lovely place to relax. Thanks!
Lovely pub, great food and friendly service. You should leave advertising flyers at some of the companies on the industrial estate to let people know you are there as there are so few nice places to eat out at lunchtime or for business lunches.
Excellent food and drink.
Service was shambolic. We were overcharged (items on bill not ordered). Staff had no product knowledge either. No steak knife offered. Food took a long time to arrive. Aaron seemed to be the only staff member with experience and was extremely overworked. Doubt if I will return.
Very pleasant. A bit of a delay at the end but minor. Generous helpings, especially starters.
Lovely friendly and welcoming staff. Busy atmosphere lovely food Will definitely visit again !
Unfortunately the service was very slow - it took over an hour for meals to arrive and even the drinks seemed to take ages. With 2 hungry children getting fed up waiting, this made the whole experience less than relaxing. Overall the food was good when it did come, with the exception of the pasta from the kids menu. It was meant to be linguine with roasted peppers and mushrooms, but there was not a pepper in sight! Having already waited so long for food, we were not inclined to send it back as who knows how long a replacement would have taken to arrive!
Excellent Sunday roast in the newly refurbished barn area. Warm and friendly.
Very pleasant with excellent food. How about no music? The eating area which goes off the bar has very strong small spotlights - a bit over bright but relatively small point.
First time back at the Emperor since it has been taken over, had a lovely meal. Would definitely recommend
Liked the decor. Service and staff great. Thought food was very average. Smoked hake overpowered by the tomato base. Fish and chips not as good as from local chippy. Haloumi starter excellent - and the Sauvignon!!
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Would book again
The roast dinner didn’t taste fresh. It tasted as it was originally from frozen, which is a shame. Within our party we have the chicken, lamb and pork roast dinner. The chicken was dry, and the lamb was way over cooked and very well done- although we ate it, we wouldn’t come back to have roast dinner here again. There are a lot more nicer pub restaurants to eat dinner where the food tastes fresh.
We have been many times before and have always enjoyed the food, ambiance & friendly service. Yesterday’s experience wasn’t so good. It took 20 minutes from when we arrived to get our drinks & 50 minutes for our starters. My husband had to find a waitress to chase our food which is not acceptable. If you are fully booked, you organise for extra staff & if you have large tables to serve, any anticipated delay to smaller tables needs to be explained to the diners. The roast beef was okay but nothing special & the portion size was definitely smaller than before. It would be a real shame if The Emporer became a victim of its own success.
A lovely Sunday roast.
service was slow and poor.
