About The Dunvegan
Deli, Cafe, Restaurant & Rooms located on the shore of Loch Dunvegan. Family-inspired, family friendly.
The food was great but the service was a let down. The staff seemed unnecessarily stressed out (there weren’t that many other diners), one staff member questioned us when there was a mistake when they took our order. We went there for my birthday and the request for a cake with a candle (asked for a few days prior) was completely forgotten about until the last minute.
Lovely meal and very good covid awareness..friendly staff Recommend pistacchio cheesecake👍🏻
Had a terrific lunch here during our break to Skye. Food excellent as were the friendly and efficient staff. Easy advance booking ensured a table. Everything super-clean and constantly sanitized.
I felt ignored for much of my stay , and had to shout out to the girl cleaning glasses at the bar that I’d like a drink . It was apparently someone else’s job so she wasn’t keen to help . The starter of black pudding was uninspired but the lamb kebab tried to be different at least . Overpriced for what was served . Also you had run out of Tallisker - please !!!
Excellent food - we ate here two nights in a row on our holiday. Good choice of drinks. Lovely, friendly staff. We are vegetarians, so it can be harder to find decent food in this part of the country, but we highly recommend The Dunvegan.
Had a wonderful meal, the food was first class and the staff were exceptional .
Very organised for Covid purposes. Friendly staff, good service and lovely food 👍
Friendly helpful staff coping well in difficult times, menu possibly more limited than before but still lots to choose from and everything we had was very nice.
Absolutely lovely restaurant, gorgeous food, super friendly service and beautiful location.
not the easiest online booking system
Very enjoyable night
Our overwhelming impression of the Dunvegan is the hardworking and dedicated owner who leads from the front. Nothing is too much trouble. We have enjoyed our stay here enormously.
The Dunvegan is a lovely family friendly restaurant and is fast becoming my favourite place to eat. The staff are always friendly and put you at ease during your visit. The levels they have gone to with the current situation far exceeded my expectations. We had a delicious meal tonight to celebrate my birthday we had mackerel and crowdie pate with homemade bread and oat biscuits, I had cod for my main and my husband had rump streak, both cooked to perfection and extremely tasty.
It was a very last minute booking by myself and the woman I spoke with on the phone was very nice and managed to get me a table. Once I was at my table she even came and said hello and asked about my stay on Skye which was a nice touch. (Sorry I didn't get her name, dark hair , glasses and a grey face mask) food was lovely the other servers that I met were very professional, ill definitely be back when I return to the Isle!
Had a great stay, in a perfect location.
Great food and atmosphere
Top notch place, well worth a visit.
Absolutely brilliant wee hotel . I have stay d I many cool hotel all over the world and this is right up there , staff where amazing and the hotel was cool without even trying to be , will definitely be back
Great food and service was up to scratch and definitely helping with Covid guidelines
Dog and vegan friendly - delicious food as well!
The food was absolutely delicious. We had the chickpea + chilli burger and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. It was the best veggie burger I've ever ate. Would highly recommend!
Tomato and basil soup Seemed to be no more than a tin of chopped tomatoes which had insufficient basil in.
The restaurant was closed, but I only found that out on Facebook. There was nothing outside to say they were closed and they didn’t contact me in advance to say they would be closed or to cancel my reservation. They posted it on Facebook a couple of days in advance so it wasn’t a last minute closure. I won’t be back.
