About The Duke's Head
It goes without saying that our food is as local as possible - from the back door out. We provide our diners with food prepared by chefs who really care, who really know what they're doing.
Creating traditional British food with a contemporary edge is what it's all about; but you'll get nothing bland and teeny portions here. It's filling wholesome food cooked by proper chefs.
A daily changing specials board compliments the seasons, shows off the team's skills and yet is full of recognisable classics.
Great food very family friendly dogs , kids the lot
Lovely meal, great atmosphere and extremely helpful and pleasant staff
We all enjoyed Sunday lunch this week. Friends said it was the nicest Sunday lunch they had had for along time. We will come again. Thank you
Service was attentive and efficient and food was very good. Meal was good value.
Visited here on a Sunday and was tempted by one of the roasts on offer. Was not disappointed, one of the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to return.
Best roast beef I have had in a long time
Very good as usual
Great place to have lunch with family/friends or a date! Always have the best experience.
Lovely food, really cosy pub, staff were absolutely excellent. Will be back and will recommend.
Lovely, bright, family pub restaurant. Allows well behaved dogs and these largely go unnoticed. Went for Sunday lunch, arrived 15minutes late but the table was kept for us without any problems. There were many young children so it was a little noisy for us, we were a small group of friends catch up from various places in Europe. This, of course, was beyond the control of the Dukes Head and more a question of choice for us. Would definitely return
Fantastic meal on Sunday- the new goats cheese starter was particularly delicious!!! Thanks, we will be back soon.
Very good food, but waited more than 1h for it to arrive
A birthday surprise treat for my husband and 14 of our closest friends. Everything was perfect, but a little slow on offering us drinks. I had to go to the bar to ask for the wine list and some of our friends went to get their own drinks, which was a shame. We all had a lovely time though and the food was great. Thank you for all you did to make us feel so welcome.
I come here quite a bit. Always faultless.
Lovely food. Great service. And even more important to us very very dog friendly.
asked for a bottle of prosseco on arrival can you believe it was £32.00 not offered any options , our fault for not looking at the wine list before hand you can buy this for under a tenner and most pubs for less than £20 ,even charged 80 pence for half a glass of soda water , food was ok but you could not cut the beef ( we had sunday roasts ) with the knifes had to pull it apart before you could eat it , get sharp ones ,service was ok apart from waiting 30 minutes for the deserts , some of the staff could do with a little customer care training , doubt we will return especially on a busy sunday not worth £140.00 for 4 for sunday lunches
Excellent atmosphere and good food. Would recommend booking early for Sunday lunch
A nice place with good food and great beer.
A great meal. Highly recommended.
Always good and dog friendly
Great dog friendly pub with great food and great service. I was late for my reservation but they kindly kept my table anyway. Good vegetarian options on the menu. Will definitely come back.
Really nice Sunday lunch. Food was lovely but portions were actually too big...
Really enjoyed our lunch, made very welcome and great service for a larger group.
