About The Duke
Prior to being The Duke the pub was The Racing Page, a sports pub & we believe, before this, The Cobwebs. Food & Fuel bought next door which use to trade as a cafe, knocked through to create a dining room & have never looked back. The Duke is yards away from Richmond Green, perfect for a leg stretch after lunch & just around the corner is the beautiful Richmond Theatre.
Bar area too noisy but restaurant area was ok and food and service excellent for a pre theatre dinner with friends. We will definitely eat here again. Staff were friendly and speedy and attentive. Loved the mini pudding too. Thank you
The food is tasty, fresh, well presented although one of our dishes had a piece of metal scourer in it!!! The dish was changed quickly. Service slow and had to be promoted to bring glasses, take away plates etc. The dining room smells strongly of damp.
Our waitress (and all the staff we dealt with) was great. Very enjoyable meal pre-theatre.
I had fish it was like a half portion 2 of my party had steak i was not very good at £21.50 is was bad value
Food was mainly good. A bit too much batter on the fish, which was quite small. Quite noisy on the night we were there. Difficult to talk.
A really great experience, the staff are amazing, they helped to make it a great night, lovely Manager, waiter and bar staff, we were a table of 11 and everyone had a brilliant timed thanks for looking after us
We had a large group of friends and family gather for the evening before our wedding in the Duke and I would highly recommend the venue for any similar function. The staff were amazing with the planning - made it very easy, and on the night everyone was so friendly and helpful which made the whole evening wonderful. Food was also fantastic and they were able to easily accommodate our requests for food to be brought out at different times, set bar tab limit etc. Thank you to all the staff for making it a super evening X
I ordered seabass the portion was very small hardly any potatoes and I felt quite hungry afterwards. I felt for £16 I didn't get value for money.
We always enjoy a Sunday roast at The Duke. As per usual, the food/service was brilliant.
Food was really nice and staff were very friendly.
An excellent place to celebrate with friends or simply having dinner out. Good atmosphere, attractive surroundings, delicious food. Highly recommended!
Excellent venue for entertaining overseas clients, proper British menu well presented. Good range of beer too.
Up to The Duke's usual high standard of food and service.
I have scored 3 for atmosphere only because mid week at 6pm was very quiet so can't honestly say any form of atmosphere good or not so good. All else, including staff very good.
We had a lovely meal on a Saturday night. The battered fish and liver parfait were particularly delicious. A great place!
The food was a real disappointment. The roast Chicken was dry. The veg were hardly cooked - and no they weren't just al dente. One of the roast beef dinners was a considerably smaller portion size than the other that was ordered. All in all not great. The service itself was nice though. Attentive and friendly
David was an attentive, funny and welcoming member of staff, he made our experience at the Duke all the more enjoyable. The food was delicious and we will be back again soon to try something else from the menu!
Our visit to The Duke was on the afternoon of Saturday 24th June, for my Dad's birthday. I have to say the service was exceptional, even with the waitress, whose name I unfortunately didn't get, managing the floor completely on her own. Really great experience, the whole family appreciated the great service. We'll be back, very soon. Thanks Peter S
A lovely treat, from start to finish. The pre-theatre menu was just right in terms of selection and the quality of the food. Wonderful service from all the staff.
Great service, fab food thanks!
Just the best place in Richmond for a relaxed, informal get together - great beer, good range of wines and excellent food (the crispy poached egg is a masterpiece).
First visit and was very impressed. The food was excellent, really delicious. I was particularly impressed with the staff, the were extremely professional whilst at the same time very friendly and full of good humour. They are to be applauded.
Very noisy as a pre-rugby crowd was in but I had reserved a table and we were in a somewhat quieter corner. Food, good for a snack before the threaten: I had the Crisp Hen Egg with Aspargus and Parmesan.
excellent lunch, the lamb was perfect. Disapointed that Pinotage has ben removed from the wine list.
Lovely atmosphere, particularly in summer with the open front.
