Lovely place for food
Food was lovely, staff were pleasant and very helpful but sadly it wasn’t very busy for a Saturday night. Only 4/5 parties.
In the past month, we've been to The Druid three times, including once for a family celebration. Had superb dining experiences each time. It's a bit on the pricey side for pub food, but you get what you pay for and we'll be back.
Unfortunately one meal was served 10 mins late due to a problem in the kitchen. I wouldn't let that put me off comming again as the meals were really good but due to the problem i thought we would of been offered a discount or at least a free drink hence only the 3 stars for service as we thought the staff where really attentive.
Extremely disappointed to book a table and then to be told when the menu comes out there are only two items on the whole menu. They have run out of all bread all steaks and burgers. The only food they had were steak and ale pie or a vegetarian curry
My wife and I had our very 1st date at The Druid so it has special meaning for us. We go every year on our anniversary and as my wife's birthday is Christmas Eve, I foolishly decided The Druid would be a special birthday lunch treat. I even put a comment in the online booking box that it was a birthday meal, not a mention of it when we arrived. Just asked why we hadnt pre ordered!! When we arrived we were seated, or crammed into the corner with 5 other dining parties on a very small table. We could hear everyone's conversation, we were that close together. Food was good as always but the service is just not what it used to be, asked repeatedly by different staff if everything was ok. The bit that shocked me and has never, ever happened anywher before was as soon as we said we didn't want desserts we were asked if we were ok to have the bill. The colleague could see I was taken aback and said oh there's no rush but I'll just get your bill. I am a regional manager for one of the world's largest hospitality and catering companies, I would be disgusted if I knew that's how my colleagues behaved. The Druid used to be so lovely and it's a shame they have to have our repeated business as the place means so much to us. Hopefully one day it'll return to the days of great service and customer experience.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Only thing i would say is that service could be coordinated a little bit better as we were repeatedly asked the same thing by different staff. Not a bad thing as they were keen to ensure we had everything we needed but not the most efficient way. Will definitely be going back.
Excellent Christmas Dinner. Food was first class and the service too. Definately return
Great food really enjoyed the evening.
Service good restaurant lacked atmosphere
We had a lovely Christmas meal. Good service and the food was beautiful. Thank you!
Appalling - see my review on facebood
Never had to pay in full up front & will not again. Very disappointed with the sea bass- 1 small thin fillet on crushed new pots, thick cream sauce & a few sugar snaps peas surrounding the dish Lemon cheesecake sent back as not edible - 3 of us did !! Despite agreeing to the xmas menu, we were expected to pay a la carte price albeit only £1.50 more as we were not pre ordering?? I don't think so. Shame that it was overall very disappointing.
Food lovely , although amended order sent out incorrectly (as per the menu) Service could have been better - table was being cleared when not all desserts finished, waited approx 20 minutes for the bill and had to ask for it again!
Absolutely delicious meal and friendly, excellent service. We were going to the theatre and so only had a main course because of time constraints, and I found my main (chicken) rather small, but in the context of a two or three course meal it would have been perfect. We last visited The Druid a year or so ago and it was pretty awful, I'm so glad we gave you a second chance, What a difference. We'll recommend you - and be back!
Amazing rib eye steak! Lovely cosy country pub atmosphere
Went out for a family meal on 23rd November and we all had a great time. The food was excellent - the pate for starters is lovely and the steak main courses we had were excellent too. Staff were very helpful and all 5 of us left in good heart having enjoyed a great meal and some very attentive and thorough staff. Would recommend a meal here to anyone.
Would be very happy to eat here again 👍🏽
Generally ok but we were a bit disappointed with a couple of the meals we had. Also the menu was a bit limited on a Sunday. Overall adequate.
I dined at the druids with a party of 10. One starter arrived after everybody else had finished theirs. One main course arrived after everybody else had finished. On both occasions we had to ask for the missing started and main. The food it's self was very disappointing. I would not be recommending the druids to any one and certainly not returning myself.
A nice evening ,food was good, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Although the beer was good maybe just a tad overpriced....
