My friends and I ate here on a weekday evening and it was very quiet. The food and service were both excellent ... we will definitely be returning
Nice setting. Food tasted ok. But 7 out of 8 of us were sick within 6 hours and poorly the following day. 2 separate families. Including young children. Seems a bit of a coincidence? I do wonder if there is some sort of contamination going on in the kitchen.
Had lunch this time but we are regular visitors to the Druid and we always have lovely meals and excellent service. Thank you so much and see you very soon! X
Great service in a nice setting .
Excellent evening, food stunning I would highly recommend and i will be returning in the future
Excellent service we couldnt have asked for better all staff were very pleasant, cheerful and attentive, and the food was excellent too in a lovely atmosphere, we will definitely be going back and would highly reccomend to anyone 😀
A lot of food on the menu was not available There was no heating Bill was incorrect at first but changed very quickly Waiting staff were very good under difficult circumstances
Nice place good food.
Lovely evening out, good food and good customer service thank you 😁
We were VERY disappointed, having booked a table of 4 for 5.30pm giving what we thought was plenty of time to get to Theatre Clwyd for a 7.30pm performance. At no time were we told there was any delay, we ordered olives & bread, garlic bread and pigs in blankets to start. The warm bread was cold and sent back. By 6.55pm the main course had not arrived! As we were running out of time and not wanting indigestion we decided to leave, hungry and disappointed. The staff were apologetic but badly trained and I think thoroughly let down by the management, there did not appear to be anyone in charge. As we settled up for the drinks and food we had, there was no offer of any discount for spoiling our evening, we were given some vouchers which were being given to everyone and which not wishing to risk having another evening spoiled we will never use.
Service was extremely slow - told there was only one chef and two waitresses on despite there obviously being a number of bookings. We booked for 5.30 but arrived early yet did not have time for a dessert or coffee before we had to leave at 7.10 and to cap it all, somehow, the bill for our table and the adjacent table was merged into one and given to us. Then took 10 minutes to sort out manually because the waitress did not know how to do it on the till. Definitely not up to normal standards.
Great service, lovely cosy pub serving excellent food
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal on Sunday. It was our first visit and we were very impressed. The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent although the portions were on the small side Fine for me but may be not for someone with a larger appetite! Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon.
Excellent food and service. Well worth a visit
Lovely place for food
Food was lovely, staff were pleasant and very helpful but sadly it wasn’t very busy for a Saturday night. Only 4/5 parties.
In the past month, we've been to The Druid three times, including once for a family celebration. Had superb dining experiences each time. It's a bit on the pricey side for pub food, but you get what you pay for and we'll be back.
Unfortunately one meal was served 10 mins late due to a problem in the kitchen. I wouldn't let that put me off comming again as the meals were really good but due to the problem i thought we would of been offered a discount or at least a free drink hence only the 3 stars for service as we thought the staff where really attentive.
Extremely disappointed to book a table and then to be told when the menu comes out there are only two items on the whole menu. They have run out of all bread all steaks and burgers. The only food they had were steak and ale pie or a vegetarian curry
My wife and I had our very 1st date at The Druid so it has special meaning for us. We go every year on our anniversary and as my wife's birthday is Christmas Eve, I foolishly decided The Druid would be a special birthday lunch treat. I even put a comment in the online booking box that it was a birthday meal, not a mention of it when we arrived. Just asked why we hadnt pre ordered!! When we arrived we were seated, or crammed into the corner with 5 other dining parties on a very small table. We could hear everyone's conversation, we were that close together. Food was good as always but the service is just not what it used to be, asked repeatedly by different staff if everything was ok. The bit that shocked me and has never, ever happened anywher before was as soon as we said we didn't want desserts we were asked if we were ok to have the bill. The colleague could see I was taken aback and said oh there's no rush but I'll just get your bill. I am a regional manager for one of the world's largest hospitality and catering companies, I would be disgusted if I knew that's how my colleagues behaved. The Druid used to be so lovely and it's a shame they have to have our repeated business as the place means so much to us. Hopefully one day it'll return to the days of great service and customer experience.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Only thing i would say is that service could be coordinated a little bit better as we were repeatedly asked the same thing by different staff. Not a bad thing as they were keen to ensure we had everything we needed but not the most efficient way. Will definitely be going back.
Excellent Christmas Dinner. Food was first class and the service too. Definately return
Great food really enjoyed the evening.
Service good restaurant lacked atmosphere
