Went with family on Saturday evening and had a great evening, food was excellent as was the service. Be back soon!
Great food love the place
Very happy with the service, food and atmosphere. Literally can’t wait to come back again xxx
Great time
Enjoyable evening, very nice food.
Only thing we found very disappointing was that being Valetines evening there was no sign of anything to make it feel like a Valentine's evening, just felt like an ordinary night out. No Valetines decor or rose on the table. My son & girlfriend went to The Grumpy Mole & they had hearts decor, rose on the table & heart shape chocolates with their bill. Nice little justure for a Valentine's evening
Very good lunchtime meal, will be back again!
Thank you for a great time yesterday. All was very appreciated.. Thank you for special attention shown to us ❤️
The enlarged car park excellent, also the conservatory. Will certainly call again.
Lovely decor , we sat in the conservatory which was comfortable but the large occupied table in the middle made it a bit loud for one of our party. Good service, one drink was wrong but quickly rectified. Fish mixed platter to start was fantastic, as was the mains of fish & chips and halloumi & chips. We were too full for a pudding.
Have been past this restaurant loads of times and always wondered what it was like. So arranged to go there for my birthday with my sister. We were very pleasantly surprised. It’s lovely in side . Food and drink very nice. Staff very attentive. Going to take my husband there for Valentines Day. Well done .
Perhaps should’ve read menu online. It only appears on a blackboard and not much choice. Couldn’t get sweet trolley to us and waitress accent a bit difficult to understand. A major disappointment for one of our favourite venues. Food was good - we all had roasts - but I wanted the mixed grill! Wouldn’t visit again Sunday lunchtime.
A nice first visit but we would have like dessert but there was no custard on offer. Normally most restaurants would especially with sticky toffee pudding.
Unfortunately, the map link attached to our reservation confirmation took us to a residential cul de sac in Tilgate, which was not the best start! The roast, was tepid and served on completely cold plates. There were no parsnips or peas, as our waitress had told us there would be and the roast potatoes were not crispy at all. Not wanting to create any atmosphere, as we were meeting old friends for lunch, we did not send the meals back. Had we been on our own, we would have done. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll be back.
There were four of us for Saturday lunch to celebrate my special birthday , three of which had travelled around thirty miles each to get there. We were shown to our table in the conservatory which looked lovely but after being there only a few minutes we found it very cold. The waitress was even shivering whilst taking our order. She got the heating turned on for us. One of my friends wanted a latte to warm her up but the only milk they had was full fat cows milk. She asked for soya milk or even skimmed milk but we were told that they didn't use either so she asked to speak to the manager of the day. Whom I must say was not in the slightest interested in customer service. Our second complaint was regarding the mixed fish dish starter. It was a dish predominantly of calamari , one tiny prawn and a couple of pieces of unidentifiable batter fish bits. We eventually got that changed for a prawn cocktail which was fine. The main meals and desserts were fine. But if it had not been for a lovely friendly waitress my birthday meal would have been a complete disappointment . I have eaten several times at the Dragon , most recently last October for Sunday lunch, and have always been happy with the food and service but not this time. The place was not busy when we arrived and didn't get too busy throughout our meal so we couldn't put the bad service down to that. I will think twice before recommending the Dragon in future.
I have been twice in the last week, once with 40 work colleaguses, ad once with my family, I found the internet booking system very easy and informative, food and service excellent. Thank you
Food was beautiful. Couldn’t fault it.
Brought my friend here for her birthday on Saturday and we couldn't rate this pub enough! The service was excellent and the food was out of this world! The minute steak was amazing, melt in the mouth and so big I couldn't finish it let alone the sides! we had a great night and will be back for sure!!
Delicious food and excellent service. We have already recommended the Dragon to several people since our visit.
We have been many a times to the dragon but never for breakfast. We had the pancakes and pancakes which is a take on the American breakfast. Pancakes perfect. Bacon needs work. There was so much which was great but as it was streaky it was mostly fat. They need to either do the American bacon which is very crispy so the fat is crunchy or use less and use English traditional back bacon. I wouldn’t order the bacon again unless this changed.
First visit with friends on recommendation from other friends. Excellent in all areas for our lunch,We agreed it was our new lunchtime meeting venue. We will be back.
Another super visit to the Dragon
I have been to the dragon for lunch & dinner & was very impressed with e erything. This was my first breakfast visit & was equally impressed.
Service and Food amazing
I love the Dragon and Cherry Tree pubs. Any pub Oscar has his hands on I guarantee will be a good one :)
