About The Dragon
Set in the heart of Colgate we serve stunning steaks cooked on the robata, seasonal dishes in a relaxed and welcoming setting
Really tasty breakfast and personal service. We went when it was empty so can't comment on the atmosphere but it's always nice to eat in the surroundings of the Dragon.
Very enjoyable meal in very pleasant surroundings .. Thankyou
Poor service expensive run of the mill food will not recommend or visiting again
Very disappointed, this was a special lunch for my sons 18th birthday yet there was no acknowledgement of this despite putting it in the booking. I ordered a second drink for me and had to ask twice for it and never actually got it then we ordered dessert with the female waitress to never get it as we asked for the dessert trolley then a male waiter asked if we wanted dessert so told him we had ordered it previously but he took our order again, 25 mins later still no dessert so asked again for it, the female waitress brought it over, chucked it on our table and walked away, no apology, no happy birthday on the dessert plate, just awful service and this really upset me as it was meant to be a nice afternoon for my son. Unfortunately this has put me off going back now, and not even worth the £68 bill. Not once was we asked if everything was ok with our meal yet all the other tables were being asked.
I have been to the restaurant a dozen times and have had very good food. However, last visit recently I opted for the Dover sole in caper butter sauce which was a big disappointment. The fish was presented with the head on and was very watery and so soft it was hard to keep it on the fork and was covered like a blanket by dozens of capers . Completely amateurish. Don't know what happened there. N Reindl
Service was great. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Only one complaint which was the chicken in the burger seemed to be fried too long and was a bit tough around edges. However we ate it and never commented on it. Which is our own problem. Will be back again to try your roasts !!
great food & fantastic service 👍
Excellent food as always
Excellent food, setting and service,,,,,we had the seafood platter and the Sunday Lunches...all executed perfectly!...we were bowled over by the value for money and quality In a zone of fairly mediocre food for high prices I was really pleasantly surprised by this Gem....
Our table wasn’t ready for us even though we’d booked. There was nowhere to sit while we waited but we were updated a couple of times on how long we’d have to wait. We weren’t handed menus. We just had to look at the black board but while we looked at that we were in the way of the waiting staff which was awkward. Our food was fast tracked as we sat down but that left us with the impression that we needed to eat quickly. There was a lot of noise from waiters setting up a large table and a few smashed glasses. It was hard to talk to our guests. We weren’t offered a wine menu and had to ask for water. Overall a very average experience for what should have been a special birthday meal with friends. I was given a soup spoon to eat my dessert with and an Irish coffee came in a whisky glass with no handle. Glasses were cleared at the end of the meal without asking if we were finished or required more drinks. Roast meals were delicious however. I’d pop in again for a meal but not on a special occasion.
All very good.
Service could have been more attentive but was not awful. The food was lovely and came out hot which is good but rare these days.
Excellent meal in a really lovely setting. Thank you Oscar for giving us such a memorable experience and for being really helpful by filleting a fish for my 92 year old Mum. Great service, great food, great place.
Booked for lunch for 4. Food was ok service was terrible. I have neer been served an Irish Coffee in a water tumbler!! or a Courvoisier in a water tumbler. My Baileys coffee was a shot of Baileys in a latte! When we asked to speak to the manager he was rude and unprofessional. Emailed a complaint and finally got a call from the owner who was more rude and more unprofessional. Will never go back or reccomend this POOR EXCUSE for an eatery.
Always a lovely meal here and Sunday was no different.
Lovely atmosphere and great food!
A wonderful evening. Many thanks to all.
Usual excellent food and brilliant staff
We all enjoyed our Christmas Eve lunch. Great food, great service and a welcoming friendly team. Thank you!
Enjoyable evening with great food. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would recommend a visit.
Have been here several times now and Will definitely be going back again.
The food was lovely and the fish and chips was a huge portion. However, prices did seem a little large too for some plainer dishes such as sausage and mash etc but an excellent meal.
Really good food and service. Will be back again soon.
Always very enjoyable.
Superb meal - thanks.
