About The Doyen
Morso offers groups of friends & family and couples alike, an authentic style Italian lunch and dinner menu in a vibrant atmosphere.
The Doyen café bar specialises in crafted coffee and brunch by morning, and in the evening, Prosecco, gin and cocktail serves.
The main bar will have live entertainment from Wednesday to Saturday evenings including local talent such as El Dude Brothers, and will be well equipped with indoor, outdoor and drop-down screens to cater for sports fans.
A secret snug bar called Telephone is also to be found, catering for up to 30 people with specialised cocktails championed by the venue’s own mixologist.
Excellent variety on the menu and a good wine list. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The attractive environment would be greatly improved by a better choice of soundtrack. When the lights are low you want a bit of laid back blues, or piano jazz, or moody sax not greatest hits from 2001. Music creates a mood and I’m inclined to linger, have a cocktail or two if the music is right.
Food was good and the wine too, but it was very cold in the restaurant, had to keep my coat on. Just wanted to get home for some heat after the meal, so didn’t stay on for some drinks as planned. So was disappointed (as we had a sitter for the kids).
Great entertainment for kids!!! Would definitely recommend for a family get together!
Waitress was exceptional and was very good with two lively kids.
Had dinner in Morso food was outstanding. Chose to eat from the 2 courses for £15,brilliant value though could have been a better choice. Excellent service will definitely be back
Had a great evening in The Doyen.... Food was Great, Cocktails Super and Staff FAB !! Thank you
Friendly and efficient staff who were attentive when needed. The food was delicious, everyone in our group enjoyed the meal. Altogether a very pleasant experience, I would definitely return.
Food is amazing, have been a few times for lunch and dinner and will definitely be back again,
Staff were excellent. Service prompt, warm and friendly. Food served quickly and we all enjoyed our meal.
Service was very slow. We were joined by friends and ended up as a table of 9 but the service could have been much better. Our main courses took about 35 minutes and we had to go looking for a member of staff each time we wanted to order more drinks. The food was excellent and good value for money but the service would put me off visiting again.
Had a wonderful party at The Doyen. The food upstairs in Morso was fantastic! So tasty, everyone loved the menu and each and every course was delicious. Ashing our waitress was very helpful and did a great job looking after us. The Telephone bar was a big hit with all the guests and our barman was so helpful and attentive and made us numerous delicious cocktails!! All in all we had a wonderful night to remember! Thank you so much!
We booked the Doyen for Sunday lunch. It transpired that there was a typo on the menu and we did not receive what we ordered. We were expecting a Sunday roast with red wine sauce but the food arrived with mushroom sauce! Neither of us like mushrooms and we would not have ordered the option if we had known. The quality of the meal we received was also very poor. The mash potato was cold and the roast potatoes were not cooked through. The server was very apologetic and offered not to charge for dessert but when the bill arrived they charged us for the dessert and offered a small discount which was less than the cost of the desserts! It was all a little chaotic and expensive for a poorly cooked meal that we did not order.
Fantastic service from Barry. He was really attentive and couldn't have been more helpful. Venue was just perfect and kids play area was an excellent way to keep the kids entertained! Definitely recommend the Doyen for private parties
Very disappointed in the service in Morso. Table wasn’t ready when we arrived, once we were sat down we had to wait 25minutes for the menus, once we got the menu’s a member of our party had to ask for someone to take the food and drink order. No one came near our table to ask how everything was all night, no server came back to get a further drinks orders from our table either. Food was lovely however getting to that point was difficult.
Had a really good time. Great stuff for the kids. The guys doing the kites were ace. (much better entertainment that anywhere else we've been to). Only thing that stops everything being 5Star is that i think some of the meals were too salty. So, less salt next time and it 100%.
We were very impressed with the atmosphere, decor the service and the lovely food. I would go again .
Doyen Friday drink offers not available in morso, ridiculous.. No wonder restaurant wasn't busy..
Good food, well priced, excellent service. Decor etc very nice too. Enjoyable mid week night out.
Great meal and Service. Pre booked meal for party of 20+. Everything well taken care off. Will definitely go there again!
Staff couldn’t have been nicer, service was super and party of 22 people were happy with their food & drinks. Thank you
