Afternoon tea was ok but staff were not very welcoming.
After reading reviews I wasn't sure what to expect however was impressed with the friendly staff who were attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and service was prompt. We enjoyed our visit and are already planning the next.
Poor quality food, accompaniments were cheap and tastless. requested wine was incorrect
A lovely tea . Good choice of food . Excellent service
Friendly staff great location and lovely food
More sandwiches and 2 less scones but lovely
Very enjoyable great food and great view we will visit again
Greeted by welcoming and polite female member of staff ,window seat as requested ,very attentive and quick service ,excellent food and drink, have visited numerous times and will continue to do so as ideal location and great service
We love the Dome and it feels really special every time we go, also love the decor, however the lack of air con would make us think twice about returning in the summer months. Everyone in the restaurant was fanning themselves with menus, even the staff were hot. It made us all quite uncomfortable, shame for such a stunning place.
We visited on Saturday for a Full Cream Tea. The venue was clean and tidy, and we were greeted on arrival by the bar attendant. Within a few minutes our server, Erica, came and showed us to our table. She was efficient and very friendly. It was nice to be greeted in that way. Within a few minutes our teas/coffee arrived followed with in a few minutes was our Cream Tea. It was served on a 3 tier tea carrier. There was plenty of food, and everything was perfect. Erica, kept popping back to us to check that we were happy. When we ran low on jam and cream, it was replenished with a smile. We were sat in the window and we had a really nice couple of hours, looking out to sea, and eating a lovely tea. I must admit, I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but I can honestly say that everything was really good, and the service we received was excellent. Well done to all the staff. Very happy customers . Thank you
A lovely afternoon tea for my daughters baby shower. Staff were attentive and accommodating !! Thank you
Had a lovely evening, excellent food, reasonably priced drinks and fantastic service
Slow service Had to ask for the tea to come out with the afternoon tea Scones not cooked properly Would not come back or recommend to anyone
Excellent afternoon tea. My only gripe would be that I and my wife would have preferred more savoury rather than the cakes, but great anyway.
Extremely disappointed with my visit. Took my mother for a mother’s day treat and booked a table in advance. Waited 30 minutes to be seated than another hour before we were served. Presseco was warm and the food was not as substantial as on a previous visit. I am extremely unlikely to visit you again or recommend you to anyone.
Booked a table a week in advance for Mother’s Day for afternoon tea however still waited over 45 minutes for our food. 5 minutes before it was served, they decided to tell us there had been an issue in the kitchen and we’ll get our food soon. They served us burnt solid scones with jam and whipped cream!! When we complained it was whipped they then told us they had ran out of clotted cream. Manager reduced our bill over 50% which was nice and the staff were really nice. Won’t be coming back.
Fantastic location very grey and wet day but staff and food excellent my mum loved it .Thankyou
Worst experience absolutely shoddy service booked weeks in advance to have afternoon tea a surprise for a friends special birthday which was totally ruined. Waited 20 mins for a tea pot as they had no spare tea pots although the restaurant wasn’t full, had to ask the waitress if there were any teapots after waiting for so long! Then continued to wait an hour for our food to be served so in the end we got up and cancelled our order as we were sick of waiting! Tables around us were all complaining, just not a very professional establishment at all. If you don’t have the resources to cater for the reservations you take then you need to stop taking bookings. I live away and travelled down especially to see a friend I don’t see often and had that embarrassment, I certainly will not be returning nor will I be recommending this place to any of my friends or family.
We had a very upsetting and negative experience unfortunately. I have already emailed you direct and I hope you respond accordingly. What should have been a magical day out was memorable for all the wrong reasons. I shall not be recommending your establishment and I will not be re-visiting. I left in tears. I'm sure that is not the dining experience you would want for your guests
I took my mum for afternoon tea yesterday as an early mother’s day treat. On the whole we enjoyed ourselves and would recommend as the venue was lovely and the food was really nice. However was slightly let down by a few points. 1, When we were served our hot drinks we weren’t given any sugar. By the time the waitress had come back to our table for us to ask our drinks had gone cold. 2, One of our deserts were served in a shot glass, however the spoons given for us to eat them were only able to fit half way into the glasses as were too big so could not eat the bottom half! 3, One of the reasons we went to The Dome was because of the view, however the glass was steamed up so could not see outside!
Staff very welcoming and service excellent.
I had a lovely time very good food
Sorry for low feedback, I have used the dome on many occasions normally afternoon tea and lunches. I'm not to sure what's happening to the dome food wasn't fresh it was well below standard no cheese scones fruit scones as I have always been offered substandard shop bought in cake no options on anything one looked like lower later of Carrott cake tastedo awful. Sandwiches dry and crusty Staff stressed and dropping plates full afternoon tea for another table and ubpresentable. Sad thing was I recommended to friends visiting me. I wondered why the dome was appearing on Groupon and now I can see why as it has gone down hill rapidly. What a shame
Three of us had afternoon tea... only one carrot cake had cream topping another had a bit but covered over in crumbs and the final one had nothing. Lemon tarts soggy but fruit scones were really tasty. Sandwiches nothing special at all. Shame as it was a mother’s day treat, won’t return unfortunately, atmosphere wasn’t great and it was cold inside although every effort was made with the heaters. Brunette girl was friendly
The food was better this time then it was i when I came for a baby shower late last year 😊 those scones was amazing they melted in your mouth 😛 will be coming back
