Afternoon Tea is served daily 12.00 - 17.00
We attended an evening event so outside of the normal service. The staff were very friendly and accommodated every request. Great view - I would go again just for the view! Perfect venue for parties and events too with the cocktail bar.
When we got there it was noticeable that you were short staffed. It took us nearly ten minutes to get seen and sat down. I ordered a bottle of prosecco for arrival for the table because it was my friend's 21st and it wasn't there. The ladies who served us were friendly but gave us menus for lunch even though I booked afternoon tea?! One also told us she was covering for someone that day. The scones and cakes were lovely but not enough sandwiches. I hate to say it but the service was a bit embarrassing (we came on weds the 8th of August at 4.30). As someone who is a duty manager of a hotel I understand that places do become short staffed and are stretched and I felt sorry for the poor girls who were trying to provide a service. I've heard good things about the Dome so this was a little bit disappointing unfortunately :(
There was only 1 person serving so it was difficult to get her attention or find her when we needed her. Other than that it was perfect, we had a lovely afternoon. The luxury afternoon tea was amazing and fantastic value for money. Thank you for letting me bring what I couldn't eat home aswell. We will be visiting again.
On arrival for the afternoon tea I had booked it a left a note on the booking that we wanted the savoury scones. When we arrived they were not available. The blonde girl who served us was lovely she apologised and tried to offer many alternatives as the savoury one were being made. We decided to wait as we were just going to be chatting anyway. It took a very long time for our first drinks order to arrive but all was fine. The afternoon tea arrived and it looked fine. I think however they have started preparing it before the scones were ready as the sandwiches and carrot cake all had a slight sharpness to the outside like it had been sat out. Tasted ok though. I was disappointed by the scones tbh they lacked in flavour and what ever butter thing it was served with didn't have much taste either. They were ok but for hand made items not great. The other desserts I think were maybe cash and carry desserts as were fine but didn't taste handmade to me.when we ordered our second round of drinks instead of clearing any cups etc first the dark haired girl just rammed our old stuff out of the way. I moved it onto an empty table to create some space. The food was fine but I think it needs refining its a perfect location for something superb so it's a shame I wouldn't want to go back at this time.
Table booked 2 weeks in advance for 3.30 table finally ready 4.10 so that left 16 impatient people cream tea finally arrived at 4.35 not impressed at all.
Fabulous view and lovely setting - how therefore is this place so miserable? The decor is tired, it just feels unloved. Apart from the young lady who was trying her best the rest of the staff are disinterested and give the impression they would prefer to be somewhere else.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and timely served and the unexpected Happy Birthday desert for my Mother-in-law was very thoughtful and very much appreciated. The table views looking out over the Hoe was stunning. Looking forward to our next visit.
Very enjoyable visit Food good Service good A pleasurable experience in a top setting fir best view in Plymouth
I booked this for my mother's birthday back in February this year. Due to circumstances the Dome had to change our booking from the original date as they had a block booking. Amy was very apologetic having to change us over but went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed the day and had a lovely experience. We would definitely go back. The views across Plymouth Sound were great and the cream tea was lovely. Thank you.
We enjoyed our afternoon tea very much, both the food and the view. The only downside was that that it was very warm in there, so much so that we couldn't wait to get out. However, it would not stop us returning as couldn't fault it otherwise, thank you.
Was disappointed to be eating out lunch and the waiting staff were crashing cutlery around and just stood around talking together. Was also nearly over charged having the dome continually deny taking a deposit from me.
Really enjoy your time here, great service and took notice to our requests. Their afternoon tea was lovely and filling. Definitely come again.
Absolutely awful. Staff were friendly but not enough staff members serving. Waiting times (even just to place our order) were ridiculously long. Extremely poor quality of food; tasteless sauces served with pasta dish and mussels. Fries were stodgy. The worst prosecco I've tasted. Memorable for all the wrong reasons.
It was great to see that The Plymouth Herald was lying to us. The venue was fantastic for the event of 100 people and everyone enjoyed it. The view while having dinner was spectacular and the food was really nice to. Staff and chefs were great. Thank you to everyone at the Dome we will be back.
really enjoyed the afternoon tea for 2 it was lovely and the veiw was amazing thank you :)
Afternoon tea was ok but staff were not very welcoming.
After reading reviews I wasn't sure what to expect however was impressed with the friendly staff who were attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and service was prompt. We enjoyed our visit and are already planning the next.
Poor quality food, accompaniments were cheap and tastless. requested wine was incorrect
A lovely tea . Good choice of food . Excellent service
Friendly staff great location and lovely food
More sandwiches and 2 less scones but lovely
Very enjoyable great food and great view we will visit again
Greeted by welcoming and polite female member of staff ,window seat as requested ,very attentive and quick service ,excellent food and drink, have visited numerous times and will continue to do so as ideal location and great service
We love the Dome and it feels really special every time we go, also love the decor, however the lack of air con would make us think twice about returning in the summer months. Everyone in the restaurant was fanning themselves with menus, even the staff were hot. It made us all quite uncomfortable, shame for such a stunning place.
We visited on Saturday for a Full Cream Tea. The venue was clean and tidy, and we were greeted on arrival by the bar attendant. Within a few minutes our server, Erica, came and showed us to our table. She was efficient and very friendly. It was nice to be greeted in that way. Within a few minutes our teas/coffee arrived followed with in a few minutes was our Cream Tea. It was served on a 3 tier tea carrier. There was plenty of food, and everything was perfect. Erica, kept popping back to us to check that we were happy. When we ran low on jam and cream, it was replenished with a smile. We were sat in the window and we had a really nice couple of hours, looking out to sea, and eating a lovely tea. I must admit, I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but I can honestly say that everything was really good, and the service we received was excellent. Well done to all the staff. Very happy customers . Thank you
