About The Distillery
Good food. Good drinks. Good times.
Food was lovely, cocktails were good. Service was awful. Also didn’t feel particularly ‘COVID-secure’
We booked a table as friends came to visit from Devon, I made this clear on reservation many times. When we got there we were not offered a menu, I had to ask after the waitress wanted money fir the first drinks, when we did get to order we found the menu not appropriate for evening dining (sandwiches) then we had to ask for the music to be lowered as it got louder and louder, it was like being in a nightclub but at 6.45pm! We couldn’t converse with each other and even the waitress couldn’t hear us when we asked for menus to eat. When we we did order the waitress got it wrong so we all ate at separate times. Very disappointing indeed. Also on the reservation I had to confirm via email and agree to your Ts & Cs which said you will take money from my card for a no show etc which I totally agree with but we were a table of 4 but your Ts & Cs we’re for tables of 6 and over. Why should that apply to us? Either change it to all tables booked or not apply to tables under 6
Really lovely service during these strange times !
Perfect setting for our baby shower
We didnt eat but I assumed with there being 7 of us we had to reserve a table. I apologised for the confusion, and we ordered our drinks. After 15mins the drinks came to the table, which were great, cocktails which the ladies enjoyed, beer and cider. Our next drinks order was taken at approx 2.05,it took nearly 30mins for the order to come to the table. The bar wasn't overly busy, and maybe at least 1 more staff member was needed if service is going to be so slow
Staff were friendly and attentive throughout including security. Social distancing adhered to. Both food and cocktails were delicious...will return and recommend!
Made the whole experience enjoyable
This was our first meal out following lock down. I was nervous. I felt very safe with the measures you have in place. The food was fabulous. We enjoyed our evening very much! Thank you
The service was great, staff were lovely and friendly. The cocktails were nice, the outside garden area was very pretty and inside was also a nice atmosphere. We had starters and mains - calamari was over cooked so tasted rubbery. Halloumi sticks tasted amazing! Both of the burgers were nice but nothing special. If I was to go back I would probably just go for drinks.
I had a terrible experience on Wednesday and will not be eating here again. I have an allergy to egg and was given food with egg even after I'd specified ( I could've died If I didn't quickly double-check), we'd been given a dirty glass with a lipstick stain (you'd think with Covid they'd have been more careful) and if that wasn't enough they tried to overcharge us 3 times!! We had to work out our own bill in the end out of distrust and fear we'd be charged more. I'm so disappointed after this visit. I won't be returning ever again.
Service was very lacking. Staff stood around chatting and we waited a good while after being seated before even being asked for drinks. Food was subpar, I have been before it it was better last time. Server didn't even ask how we wanted our steaks cooked or which sauce we wanted. The steaks themselves were nice. But £13 for a small steak and a small bowl of chips is hardly worth it. Nothing else comes with it. Friend had the mixed grill and no one told him they were out of sausage when he ordered. He found out when it arrived without sausage and he had to ask. Only good thing about the eve was the cocktails were very nice and all properly garnished.
Staff were very rude
Wonderful food and drink
My friend never got their food and they charged us the wrong bill, twice.
Food was excellent, good service
Had an amazing night, waitress was lovely and couldn’t do enough, service was excellent and the chef came out with the dessert board and spoke with us. I will 100% to visiting again. Thanks for a brilliant night
Drinks a little on the pricey side but the service was amazing and attentive
Staff were great food was great, a really enjoyable experience. Will definitely come again.
Cocktails are amazing and food was just as good
Our waiter was amazing, he was so lovely i cant remember his name but he was polish. He was so enthusiastic and made the experience so good. I was just disappointed with the burger as i didnt feel it was very meaty, it tasted more of a hamburger than a beef burger. Generous portions
Waited 50 minutes for starters, and then a further 45 for our main course (we only had burgers). We then asked for the bill which took a further 20 minutes to arrive. All of this happened with no explanation from the staff as to why we were having to wait so long, despite there only being one other table of 4 in the restaurant.
We came on Saturday for a bottomless brunch. Waiters and waitresses were really friendly but the service was slow. It was busy however there should have been enough staff serving to cope with the bookings as this will put people off. Waiting ages between rounds was really frustrating. We had no drinks when our food came out and then waited 25 minutes for the sauces we asked for. Staffing levels weren’t relative to the demand. I think the drink choice for the bottomless brunch could be tweaked too. I know a few groups who have been in recently who felt the cocktails offered at Revolucion De Cuba were better. I don’t know anyone under 60 who drinks a Bloody Mary! Perhaps swapping with a daiquiri would be more popular.
Really lovely visit for a bottomless brunch. Staff we really really lovely, food was good and cocktails kept in coming. Great value for money and lovely surroundings and decor. Will definitely revisit and highly recommend!
Great service, food and relaxed environment.
The food was amazing! Had the special and drinks took quite a while, took a while to be served too - but it was definitely worth it. Would come back for food again (always drink here anyway)
