About The Dining Rooms
The Dining Rooms’ menu offers British and European classics using only the best local produce. Ignite your appetite with starters such as Potted Norfolk Brown Shrimps with Nutmeg, Lemon & Parsley or Chickpea Scotch Quail Egg with Roasted Pepper Hummus. Follow with mains such as Sticky BBQ Attleborough Pork with Coriander Lentils and Sesame Greens or Spelt & Smoked Norfolk Cheese Pork(less) Pie. The puddings are devilishly tempting creations such as White Wine-Poached Pear with Chocolate Ice Cream and Warm Frangipane with Crème Anglais.
For less formal dining, the airy and relaxed bar area serves food and drink all day to cinema-goers and visitors alike. Bar meals, cakes, coffee and soft drinks are available alongside carefully selected bottled and tap beers, great wines and cocktails. A covered interior terrace and a landscaped outside area to the front of the building are ideal for warmer weather.
With the impressive ambience of Suckling House as a backdrop and the fresh, high-quality fare on offer, The Dining Rooms is a high quality part of the Norwich restaurant scene that you should not miss.
service friendly and helpful, if a little slow, food more fancy than fantastic. my burger was cold.
Really lovely food thanks
An excellent place to eat with a very good menu. The staff are always friendly and we always enjoy our visits.
My friend and I had a lovely pre cinema lunch which was delicious! Portions just the right size and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. Will come again.
Scrumptous scallops, great pork, amazing venison...all absolutely delicious!
Unfortunately the red mullet was not available but we really enjoyed our meal. The ambience was lovely. We will be back!
This was not our best evening due to the use of the additional room which had no atmosphere. It would have been good to know in advance and to have been offered the choice. We had booked on line and this was not clear. The site also didn’t advertise the fact that the menu was a Valentines variation (unless we missed this) which was more limited. Nevertheless, food was v good as usual and service excellent.
Waited half an hour for first course, but english sparkling was so good we were ok enjoying that. Valentines set menu was not up to the same standard as the normal menu and a little confusing - a contemporary pork belly and mashed potato mixed with asian kimchi and peanut salad? Dessert was lovely but a small portion. May drop in again but in hindsight would have booked somewhere else for a romantic meal.
A great meal - will come again. Thank you.
Lovely food for the valentine's menu.
The starter was acceptable, however the main course had far too much Kimchi causing it to totally takeover the flavor of everything on the plate I found this course most disappointing and pointed it out to our servers , however no one came to discuss this with us . Dessert was just ok this was probably the worse meal I’ve eaten at the dining rooms , made worse by the fact that there wasn’t any interest in our comments . No where is perfect however when things do go wrong sometimes if the establishment shows an interest future sales can be saved . Because of this we’ll probably eat elsewhere in future and just attend cinema city for the presentations
£5 for a bottle of beer does seem a bit pricey. The price of the food was reasonable. The scallops were outstanding
It was very quiet when we went there. Horrid weather etc! (thus 4stars as we felt a bit lonely and it was only 6pm) As always very nice and helpful staff great food and a good choice of dishes.
Great location and atmosphere. Interesting and varied menu comes with attentive service. Food was delicious and I’d eat there every day if I could.
Fantastic food and atmosphere!! Lovely birthday treat
Another lovely evening, food perfect
I'd like to see more vegetarian options on the menu.
Great find...perfect for a pre cinema meal
An outstanding experience from start to finish, great service and super food.
Perfect late lunch before gong to see film. Lovely quiet restaurant, good choice vegetarian dishes on menu and really tasty, enjoyable food. Friendly service too.
A great place to eat before or after the cinema, with good service and a small but varied and interesting menu.
Very friendly and our 12th year for a Christmas celebratory meal.
Fabulous meal again, guinea fowl so lovely again, thank you
So good to be in a restaurant on Fri night without loud music with good service & excellent food!! Was really cold the last time we ate there but this has been been sorted now. Thanks!
The team at The Dining Rooms are second to none, the service, atmosphere and food was excellent! We had a brilliant time xx
