About The Dining Rooms
The Dining Rooms’ menu offers British and European classics using only the best local produce. Ignite your appetite with starters such as Potted Norfolk Brown Shrimps with Nutmeg, Lemon & Parsley or Chickpea Scotch Quail Egg with Roasted Pepper Hummus. Follow with mains such as Sticky BBQ Attleborough Pork with Coriander Lentils and Sesame Greens or Spelt & Smoked Norfolk Cheese Pork(less) Pie. The puddings are devilishly tempting creations such as White Wine-Poached Pear with Chocolate Ice Cream and Warm Frangipane with Crème Anglais.
For less formal dining, the airy and relaxed bar area serves food and drink all day to cinema-goers and visitors alike. Bar meals, cakes, coffee and soft drinks are available alongside carefully selected bottled and tap beers, great wines and cocktails. A covered interior terrace and a landscaped outside area to the front of the building are ideal for warmer weather.
With the impressive ambience of Suckling House as a backdrop and the fresh, high-quality fare on offer, The Dining Rooms is a high quality part of the Norwich restaurant scene that you should not miss.
All over a fantastic dining experience. Food was superb, really great to have interesting & creative vegitarian dishes to choose from, excellent wine, service was attentive but still discrete. I’ll definitely be back again soon and would definitely recommend to others too.
The room was extremely cold and to our surprise we discovered the heater closest to our table wasn’t even switched on. The food wood be described as below average. The baked fish one of our party ordered was borderline tasteless and a measly portion, another of our party ordered the steak which was an extremely poor cut of meat. We have eaten in the restaurant before but this may have to be the last time. On a positive note the bar has a fine selection of wines which we find most enjoyable.
I loved the food, service, atmosphere, everything! My first time eating there and it was for the Valentines Set Day menu which is gorgeous food and stunningly presented. The staff made a real effort to make it a special evening and the decorations were beautiful. One of my favourite places in Norwich, I recommend it to everyone.
Always have an excellent evening here. Food is very good value for money. Wine is constantly good and the staff and service is first class!
Lovely meal, interesting ice-cream!
The staff were charming, the food very good, and the atmosphere was good the only negative I think was that it was a bit draughty, but then it is a very old building and I feel the cold!
As a gluten free diner there was no replacement for the flat bread that shoud accompany the beetroot falafels, and 5 of those was really too much! Not enough humous to moisten them..I don't think the 'salad' was enough, just composed of rocket leaves.
Lovely meal, service and place!
This is an excellent venue for lunch which works particularly well if attending the cinema either before of after. As Members it offers excellent value for money. The food provided is well prepared and tasty and the service is excellent
Such an amazing place. We popped in for dinner before a movie, the service, food and atmosphere was great! It must be the world's finest restaurant in a cinema.
A fantastic meal wonderfully presented on the plate by friendly and attentive staff. An intimate venue that was cosy without feeling like you are crammed into a corner. Will definitely visit again soon.
Very friendly staff and a nice lunch after the Laurel & Hardy film. Would high recommend this lovely quaint restaurant
Great time in a private dining room for our wedding anniversary lunch with our parents- thank you
Fabulous food, lovely flavours.
Simple fantastic... Every thing was brilliant!!!
Freezing cold. Had to keep coat on.
Lovely fish and chips ! Top service by the waitress and compliments to the chef. I will be back in the Spring. 10/10. Best wishes Adam
An unusual menu, good in parts.
We had a lovely meal and were very well.looked after. We'll definitely come back.
Lovely food; prompt service and great value
We have been occasional visitors to the restaurant for a number of years and this was the best meal ever! The interesting, so tasty and well cooked vegetables for our first course as well as the succulent turkey made for a really good meal. The crème brulee was delicious.
A real gem of a little restaurant. Went for a team lunch. Food was spot on - we all had either Moroccan Lamb or Beetroot Falafels in flatbreads with salad and fries. All delicious (I was expecting the lamb to be warm but no complaints, it was all good). Unusual and tasty puds of Ruby Chocolate cheesecake and Coffee cardamom brulee. Jaa was a fabulous hostess, nothing was too much trouble. With the Picture House card we got a good discount. Honestly, cannot fault it. A really lovely lunch.
Our first visit we will definitely return our visitors were very impressed.
Went for a lunch with friends and sat in the main restaurant. Service was good, waiting staff very friendly. Chose the pulled Moroccan lamb which came in a wrap with fries and rocket - extremely tasty but too much for me to eat. Suggest a much smaller wrap/flat bread. Lovely lunch, really enjoyed it.
