This was our first visit and we were impressed by the courteous way in which the staff looked after us. We would recommend the hotel to our friends and will certainly visit again.
After a couple of disappointing previous visits, CG seems to have got back most of its standards with particular regard to the service aspect of the experience
Thank you for a very special evening!
I was disappointed with the fixed menu which consisted of 6 small dishes of mainly fish and pate both of which my wife does not eat.It would have been better if the menu was e-mailed to us before arrival for us to comment on.
We had a wonderful afternoon tea. The service and food were excellent. Our only comment was we got rather chilly. We were not in the main lounge but in a lounge just off it. By the end of the afternoon as we walked back into the main lounge we all commented on how much warmer it was in there. But we still had a wonderful time.
The food on the taster menu was lovely but it clearly stated coffee and chocolates without supplement and our table was told no. Its rather miss leading.
A most enjoyable afternoon tea in very pleasant surroundings.
Absolutely lovely. Staff were very good, and I was glad to see the dishes could be adapted for Coeliacs. We will definitely be back soon!
It was a really lovely treat for Mother's Day , I would definately recommend to friends.
We had a fabulous lunch, everything was perfect.
It was my friends birthday and she loved the afternoon as did I. Thank you very much.
Had a throughly pleasant afternoon
Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with lunch at the Chewton Glen and loved every minute. My thanks to Beverley for making the arrangements and the rest of the team for making our visit so special. The food and service were fabulous and the attention to detail superb. Thank you.
A perfect treet on my birthday. I hope I will enjoy many more with you.
incredible food and service. I hope the gentleman that served us (not much hair) is our waiter for our wedding in July! He was impeccable!
There were a couple of large and rather load parties going on at the same time as our meal.
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch, the food was very good, thought the drinks were over priced especially the dry martini's at £18.50 each!!!
I loved being served the loose leaf tea, something not often served in hotels. The decor and food was wonderful. The cakes were wonderfully arranged and we had a good mix of flavours. Service a little slow but it was busy and staff were attentive. I would add that parking for first time visitors is a little confusing.
The set lunch is exceptionally good value.
Having been asked on phone whether or not it was a special occasion, I am wondering about the purpose of this question? Also had to remind waitress that we had ordered another beer twenty minutes ago. On a positive note, the cheese souffle especially, was excellent.
would have preferred less cakes and more finger sandwiches
we really enjoyed the light, airy atmosphere in the restaurant. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable and the food was exquisite.
New billing system just introduced was not understood by the person presenting our bill, as she had been absent during training. The manager called to explain was unnecessarily brusque with both ourselves and the original presenter of the bill. More generally the staff were excellent and added to our enjoyment of the experience
Our afternoon tea was such a lovely experience. The sandwiches were fresh and bursting with good quality filling - the roast beef was devine! The scones were superb. However the cakes were a bit on the fussy side. Our waitress ( from Cognac) was very attentive and attended to all our needs including extra sandwiches! Thank you.
Thank you to the whole team (without exception) for the excellent service and their very cheerful manner, which added an extra special touch. A special thank you goes to Frankie for such an excellent selection of wines to accompany our meal and his ability to make you feel very special.
