I’m so pleased that I received this survey as I was just about to write a thank you email to you! We had a wonderful day today hosting our Christmas coffee morning for our senior team. This is the third year we have held it here and definitely the best by far. Thank you so much for your kind attention and for making the morning go so smoothly.
Delicious festive meal but portions were too big for us. I know I should have eaten less but it was all so delicious. I came away too full.
Superb start to a two day break. The scallop and sweet corn starter was one of the best I’ve ever had. Well done, great ingredients shone through.
My husband and I had a wonderful afternoon at Chewton Glen, the afternoon tea was lovely along with the atmosphere and service. I would definitely recommend to friends for a special occasion.
We are lucky to have such a lovely Hotel & Restaurant in this area
We visit Chewton Glen often and we are never disappointed! Recently my husband myself and our family celebrated his 70th birthday. We stayed for the weekend and it was a truly wonderful experience ! The staff were so helpful and went the extra mile to make the weekend special for him! On every visit for lunch, afternoon tea or dropping in for coffee in the lounge we are made to feel welcome and very special by all the staff! Thank you Chewton Glen!!
Very nice menu, lovely wine , good service.
Excellent from start to finish.
I was on my on and found everybody very friendly and helpful.. So good that I booked to take my husband next week! See you then! LIZ JONES
Excellent meal but service was not up to the usual standard especially in the bar pre meal.
I have to say on this occasion I was very disappointed with my whole experience. Firstly our table wasn’t ready for the time we had booked. We waited a good 20 minutes past our booked slot. It was very busy and it didn’t feel relaxed or calm as we were having afternoon tea amongst other guests eating their Christmas lunch so it spoiled the atmosphere completely. Our sandwiches were soggy, the little cupcake was very dry. Although your staff are polite they are not very attentive and we had to ask for a box to take our spare cakes home, ask for the bill, then get up and find someone and somewhere to pay. The price of afternoon tea has increased and it most certainly does not reflect in the quality of the food or service. Myself and my friend were extremely disappointed as it’s something we look forward to annually and I am sad to say that was the last time we will come. It was just overpriced and disappointing. You are riding off the back of your reputation as the Chewton glen and it was very apparent as the quality is diminishing. Very sad to write that this was a negative experience and one that has ended my journey with you.
Best afternoon tea we have ever had. Food was fantastic, as was the service, atmosphere and everything about the venue. Will be recommending to friends and family and have already made a reservation to go back for lunch.
The service we received was first class.. A pleasure to see young staff giving such excellent service
Today was as usual at Chewton Glen an excellent experience overall. From the welcome in the bar with champagne and canapés, to the cauliflower risotto and the local game terrine. Then the roast beef, well does it get any better, carved at your table! Then the desserts, only just enough room. Coffe and mince pies in the lounge with the Sunday papers. Great service, great food and wine......GREAT team well done Chewton Glen! Regards, Allan Collier
Rather disappointed with the Festive Afternoon Tea and the confusion over what it included, we were advised that it didn't include the Sipsmiths London Cup although it states it on the website, so we opted for a glass of champagne to upgrade the afternoon tea, the waiter who brought the tea just plonked the teapots on the table and walked off, there was no sugar on the table and when the cubes arrived, no tongs or spoon to take the cubes out with, we were asked if we would like another plate of sandwiches and then waited about 20 minutes for the second plate - we did comment when we received the bill and he did adjust the bill but all in all, a bit of a disappointing festive afternoon tea
We all had a delicious lunch...Excellent portion size and choice of vegetables...Roast Beef was as good as always...
We had such a special time celebrating our engagement with you. Will definitely be back to enjoy your beautiful hotel & spa.
Nice warm relaxed atmosphere. There was something inedible in the terrine and I know the done thing is to serve vegetables with a bit of bit but it was a challenge to get the my fork to penetrate the sprouts.
Fabulous as always
Beautifully decorated as always . However , service unfortunately wasn’t the best . The waiter mixed up our service with no apologies at all ! Champagne should of been served first . Then not the correct amount of tea was not bought out .To ne honest I felt the waiters seemed to be pre occupied and disinterested. Towards the end of our afternoon lots of staff appeared and started moving tables and furniture which made us feel like we needed to leave . At no point were we reassured that we didn’t need to ! A rather disappointing afternoon all in all purely from the service !
We have been coming for 3 decades and The Chewton Glen has its place in our circuit of local restaurants.
Visited to celebrate my boss's 50th with a festive cream tea. This was my first visit to the Chewton Glen and I did have high expectations...these were certainly met! Beautiful atmosphere, extremely professional and courteous employees and all food and drink was to a very high standard. Would highly recommend and I will be returning.
Great surroundings, attentive hosts, wonderful food 😃
My friend I was with couldn’t eat part of her starter (game) as it had grizzly in it and after our lunch we went to sit in the lounge to have a coffee and was told by a gentleman at the entrance to the lounge that it was reserved but was not offered an alternative place to sit so we left
A very nice tea in pleasant surroundings.
