Afternoon Tea is served daily 15.00 - 17.00
We visited Whatley Spa for afternoon tea so this is no reflection on Niall. The food was nice but nothing really stood out. We booked afternoon tea as it was a Mitchelin restaurant and thought something would wow us but nothing did. There was no atmosphere in the dining room and would have been better served in the lounge, bar or outside on the patio.
Delightful setting and delicious afternoon tea. A real treat.
Lovely time celebrating a friends 40th. Although I asked for candles in her cakes and that didn’t happen which was a shame as we’d planned to play happy birthday. I thought the bottle of prosecco was very over priced as I didn’t think £40 for a bottle is reasonable. I’ve been to other spas where they ask £30 a bottle which is more reasonable at roughly £7.50 per glass. It wasn’t very easy to find the right entrance though so signage could be better. Other than that we had a nice time.
Setting idyllic Rooms; comfort, style, clean with gorgeous views What makes Whatley special & standout from top Hotel/Spas? Staff Everyone from managers to cleaners are friendly, happy, relaxed, willing to go the extra mile to ensure one has everything to make your stay perfect in every way My dream place for the gardens & staff But don't all rush there I want to return soon & need a room!
The service for food was slow, in fact the people on the table next to us walked out as they had been waiting over an hour for food- the staff were lovely however they weren’t enough of them . Food was delicious
A must, amazing and imaginative food, welcoming, professional and friendly staff and a relaxing and beautiful traditional country atmosphere- all that is wonderful about Wiltshire and England!
MARK EDWARDS An anniversary experience for my wife and I. I have travelled all over the world eating in some amazing places, but few match the experience of eating at Whatley Manor. Form start to finish the experience was totally amazing, the staff were incredible and the food was the most exquisite I have eaten anywhere. The best dining experience ever - thank you!
Overall a very disappointing experience. The food was ok but nothing was truly outstanding, serving a course of bread is a bit of a joke given the price of the tasting menu and I've never, ever had a tasting menu that some courses were basically poor e.g. The lamb was not good, poorly seasoned with dull accompaniments, and the baba was inedible - sickly sweet with gravel! The staff tried hard but were clearly lacking in knowledge and handled both the dissatisfied American customers and the lady with an allergic reaction to garlic very poorly. Why when the Americans asked for a wine recommendation was the sommelier not called for instead of an East European waitress offering her, v unconvincing, personal preference? The ambience of such an austere room is also very disappointing - overall not worth the cost, not a patch on Hospital Road, The Ledbury or La Trompette.
My daughter and I has afternoon tea, what can I say, it was superb. The whole experience could not be faulted and the food was excellent. We shall be back.
Beautiful hotel. Afternoon tea did not match expectations. Sandwiches were unimaginative. Tea arrived a good 20minutes before food therefore was cold when food arrived. Did not feel value for money.
Always a very relaxing experience, the staff are excellent.
Afternoon tea lovely and setting amazing. Staff helpful. I asked for jam without seeds in due to a health condition but both jams had seeds in despite being told they didn’t which was a little frustrating. Other than that it was delightful
Very attentive service and beautiful gardens!
Afternoon high tea was absolutely delicious especially the sweets which my wife and daughter thoroughly enjoyed. The only minor issue, which was soon rectified, was that the cappuccino was served just warm, on asking the waiting staff this was replaced immediately.
This was our third visit to Whatley Manor for afternoon tea and as before was a most enjoyable experience. Beautiful surroundings, lovely food and attentive staff. Highly recommended and will definitely return.
So very fortunate for us we had been given the afternoon tea as a gift and what a gift. We met a member of staff on our way in to reception who took us in and from then onwards the afternoon was a delight. All dining room staff were so polite and helpful, the main event being the tea was delicious and within such ambient surroundings. We were keen to see other areas of the hotel and took ourselves off to have a look whereby we met the waiter who looked after us and he gave us a mini tour and informed us of events that take place at the hotel. Greeted by another polite member of staff in the spa. We then went into the garden and wow! Just beautiful, well laid out, lovely views of the countryside, just perfect. A totally wonderful experience.
Wonderful experience - 4th time we have indulged and as always all was perfection - from the staff and the discreet but perfect service to the afternoon tea delights always delicious and very much enjoyed. The standard is always high and the ambiance never fails to make any occasion special - in our case our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. Thank you
Afternoon tea for two was a great experience and we are looking forward to a return visit.
The afternoon was enjoyable with fantastic food, sevice and surroundings. I was recommended Whatley Manor from a friend who thoroughly enjoyed her afternoon tea and said it was an afternoon experience I wouldn't forget. She was right.
Whatley Manor has stepped up to become one of the most exciting dining experiences around. The tasting menu will explore new food combinations and will both amaze and tantalise your palate, Niall is truly up there as a grastromic leader. The food is complemented by excellent service, friendly and knowledgeable staff in a wonderful English manor setting. I can not recommend this enough.
Lovely tea, lovely setting, service excellent.
A very enjoyable stay. Beautiful spa and very relaxing treatments. Food on the tasting menu was excellent as was the service and atmosphere. Our Superior room was large tastefully decorated and very comfortable as was the on suite bathroom. Sue and Neil
We had a fabulous time on a Saturday afternoon for my friends 40th birthday. The only reason for not giving the full marks was that we each had a sandwich where the bread was crusty and aired and Hannah asked for Assam tea but got a shared pot of mine. It was quickly rectified. The servers were attentive and jolly. The fires were warming whilst it started snowing outside. We have been before and visited other similar hotels, spas and afternoon tea establishments. We decided this is our favourite by far. We will be back. Thank you for keeping up your high standards. X
The beef was served rare even though I requested well done I was asked if I required mustard /horseradish sauce 3 times and it eventually arrived just before I finished my meal when I arrived home I noticed on my bill we were charged for coffee as an extra even though it was included on the menu I telephoned your reception to query this and was politely informed it was not included even though your menu stated it was Never the less I have been refunded for this error I have visited Whatley Manor on many occasions and will continue to do so however on this occasion it was not up to the standard I expected On a positive note your staff were very polite and courteous
Thank you for a lovely, most enjoyable afternoon. Perfect for the occasion.
