Excellent meal in great surroundings with superb service, as always.
As always, excellent! It is becoming a tradition to dine at Queen Street when visiting the capital.
Great food, excellent wine and whisky, incredible service.
Excellent lunch. A very civilised way to spend a winter’s afternoon
Drink naturally was excellent! Food was mixed. My beef was beautifully soft & tender, but my colleague's was really tough, and looked like it has been cooked differently or was a different cut of meat. The service was very good, really helpful and friendly. It was an experience not just a meal.
Our group had a fantastic experience at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society on Saturday. The tasting was exceptional and the drams selected for our group were brilliant (a particular favourite was "Bacon and Porridge" - not a description I ever thought I'd use for a whisky!) The thing that really made the whole experience special was our host, Jeremy. He looked after our group so well, his knowledge incredible, selections brilliant and hospitality second to none. Really couldn't speak highly enough of the whole evening. Thank you for everything. Paul
Absolutely Superb. We were a party of 10 and enjoyed private dining on the top floor with fantastic views over the water to Fife. The ambience was first class as was the food, the service and the drams of course. Our server was both knowledgeable and friendly.Following our meal we were accommodated in the tasting room downstairs to continue our Xmas celebrations and enjoy the friendly atmosphere and fine drams. As a group we would heartily recommend the Dining Room Restaurant and the SMWS Queen Street.
Really enjoyable evening
We had the most amazing experience with superb food and a wonderful dining experience. We celebrated a special occasion and the dinning room made into a truely unique and wonderful celebration, one that we will remember. Thank you so much.
Really lovely environment and somewhere special for a meeting to wow clients.
Overall a very good experience, however one thing I would say was that the portion sizes were small.
Excellent lunch on Saturday. Great food & drinks in a lovely atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff. Thoroughly enjoyable and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thanks
I booked this for a group of friends and have visited in the past yet I do not drink whisky. Still I will return and may even join in the future. A really good place to show people a real 'taste' of Edinburgh
The plates used for serving food are not very practical when used with the cutlery provided.
Great food and wine, super chat with the somelier
Very enjoyable experience
First time diner as a member of the SMWS. My partner and I were made extremely welcome on arrival and the staff could not have more attentive without being overly obtrusive. The meal and wine was first class and any queries were dealt with courteously and professionally by staff. The evening was rounded off with a most enjoyable three hours in the members bar. A great evening in a great venue.
Thanks to the team for a super luncheon
Food portions were small esp. For veg
Firs time back after a year or so, and most disappointing visit ever - what has happened?
Fantastic wee night. Lovely atmosphere. Just fantastic.
Lovely meal in elegant surroundings with excellent service, as always. Great value for money for very inventive & tasty food.
Fantastic evening at Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Lovely building in a great location with well considered interiors. excellent food, wine and service. What not to like?
excellent evening which included a talk on whisky. the food was very good indeed as was the service. the wine was a bit hit or miss but it is a whisky business after all. we had the top floor dining room and despite that the food arrived hot. a few drams in the bar area at ground floor was a delightful way to finish a fine evening.
