About The Dial House
If our online booking system says we are full please do call or email us in house and we will do our best to find you a table.
The Dial House is a luxury bistro restaurant with rooms. A special place tucked away in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. Perfectly situated 30 minutes away from both the North Norfolk coastline and the Norfolk broads national park. Eight luxury bedrooms, magnificent breakfasts, hand-crafted afternoon teas, spa treatments, grand dinners and an in house retail wing which means ‘everything’s for sale’.
A lovely meal for two; a delightful evening. We went to The Dial House with low expectations, we had read the reviews of the last 12 months and not heard great things however we had been bought a gift card so booked a table. On entry the welcome was warm with the option to sit in the lovely bar area and also choose our table. Service was attentive but unobtrusive all evening. As vegetarians(who eat fish!) there was a good choice on the menu. Great starters, especially the Asparagus Dib-dabs, were followed by super mains of fish pie and BBQ carrot ( with lovely side of purple sprouting broccoli with a mint pesto) and indulgent puds (especially the chocolate fondant). Wonderful food, cooked well and nicely served, with friendly happy staff. A very nice evening, spent as a couple (children left at home!). We will be coming back and telling others to give it another chance.
Bit disappointed at how cold it was whilst we ate, due to front door being opened for a delivery to come in. Aside from that, wonderful food and staff.
This is a lovely place with friendly staff, great service and delicious food. We come here when we have a special occasion, but now they take dogs we will probably be back far more often.
We very much enjoyed the food but the service was somewhat lacking from arrival through to departure. We arrived on time but were asked to take a seat in the bar to help kitchen with service. This was fine but we did not realise we had to obtain our own drink and not be served at a table. It was rather miss communicated as to what we should or should not do.
We dined on a Monday evening and, sadly, it was very quiet with only 2 other couples dining. This didn't really help the atmosphere. Menu was strange in that the choices were not what we were expecting - burger, fish pie, expensive steak were all food choices we could have had at the pub across the market square.
Delicious afternoon tea. This hotel has great personality and warmth in its service
Amazing , wonderful two nights stay.
Wonderful two nights stay , fabulous hotel, the best food we have ever experienced, amazing staff , especially Siobhan... We will be looking forward to returning.. Thankyou..
Very nice building, loved the loos! I thought the lunch time menu was quite limiting, elderly relative found it difficult to choose something. Food was lovely though.
I really wanted to enjoy The Dial House, but it was overall a disappointing experience. The service was terrible - the staff were lovely, but everything was haphazard and slightly manic. When we sat down, we waited for 15 minutes before being offered a drink. There was no cutlery for our mains and we didn't get our wine until after the food arrived. On the food - I had lobster for a main, at £36 was a small specimen and they didn't have a lobster crack and pick for me to get the meat out. When I challenged them about it, I was told they had a few lobsters left over from an event so decided to sell them - so they didn't have the right cutlery. Not very professional. We had some great meals whilst away in Norfolk for the weekend, unfortunately this wasn't one of them.
Our experience at the Dial House up to date has always been excellent and yesterday was no exception. The food is of a particularly high standard.
First time with yourselves and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with you and your staff
Friendly staff, lovely breakfast.
Lovely food which tasted so fresh. Great to see a vegan option. Lovely coffee.
Average food for alot of money. Won't be coming back.
Staff so kind and thoughtful went that extra mile with both courtesy and attention to detail which made a window seat lunch for two memorable.
The pasta dish was a bit disappointing, too much pasta and not enough sauce, the fondant pudding was amazing though
Enjoyable Sunday lunch..food was well cooked and presented...Excellent service and very friendly staff, with great atmosphere and furnishings.
Really enjoyed our Sunday roast! Hope to return soon.
The staff were very friendly helpful and attentive. The food was adequate, but disappointed to find a chicken bone in one of the sandwiches.
Excellent and interesting food, beautifully cooked despite it being a quiet Tuesday evening after a Bank Holiday weekend. Good wine list.
Really lovely food and setting. Service was a bit slow and food came out at different times, but it was quite busy.
Service was quick and staff very friendly. Had plenty of time to enjoy our breakfast, was not rushed.
The wife and I decided to try somewhere new, I can honestly say what an excellent choice. The food and the staff were great and the building is lovely. We will definitely be returning.
Fantastic food and excellent service.
