About The Dial House
If our online booking system says we are full please do call or email us in house and we will do our best to find you a table.
The Dial House is a luxury bistro restaurant with rooms. A special place tucked away in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. Perfectly situated 30 minutes away from both the North Norfolk coastline and the Norfolk broads national park. Eight luxury bedrooms, magnificent breakfasts, hand-crafted afternoon teas, spa treatments, grand dinners and an in house retail wing which means ‘everything’s for sale’.
Friendly staff, lovely breakfast.
Lovely food which tasted so fresh. Great to see a vegan option. Lovely coffee.
Average food for alot of money. Won't be coming back.
Staff so kind and thoughtful went that extra mile with both courtesy and attention to detail which made a window seat lunch for two memorable.
The pasta dish was a bit disappointing, too much pasta and not enough sauce, the fondant pudding was amazing though
Enjoyable Sunday lunch..food was well cooked and presented...Excellent service and very friendly staff, with great atmosphere and furnishings.
Really enjoyed our Sunday roast! Hope to return soon.
The staff were very friendly helpful and attentive. The food was adequate, but disappointed to find a chicken bone in one of the sandwiches.
Excellent and interesting food, beautifully cooked despite it being a quiet Tuesday evening after a Bank Holiday weekend. Good wine list.
Really lovely food and setting. Service was a bit slow and food came out at different times, but it was quite busy.
Service was quick and staff very friendly. Had plenty of time to enjoy our breakfast, was not rushed.
The wife and I decided to try somewhere new, I can honestly say what an excellent choice. The food and the staff were great and the building is lovely. We will definitely be returning.
Fantastic food and excellent service.
Lovely building Lovely staff Lovely food & Lovely Location!! Can’t wait to return a fantastic little Norfolk gem 😊
Myself & Family had a superb Sunday roast at The Dial House. Everyone we met was so lovely & the building itself is beautiful. We look forward to returning.
Service was awful and food wasn’t great
Lovely afternoon tea with excellent service and a beautiful setting. Can’t wait to come again!
Lovely place, beautiful food. Thank you
Delicious food in an awesome setting.
I really enjoyed my afternoon tea. The pastry chef went out of her way to make me a vegan tea and it was lovely. The surroundings were lovely and the staff very friendly.
We came here from Wymondham (over 20miles) for my wife's 60th birthday mainly because there are few quality restaurants open on a Monday evening in Norfolk. We were extremly pleased with the high standard of food and service which we experienced and all at a very reasonable cost. We won't be waiting for a special occasion before we visit again.
I, as well as my group of friends, were very disappointed by our meal at The Dial House. We made a reservation for a special event as The Dial House came highly recommended, however we left wishing we had booked elsewhere. The menu on Sundays consists of various roasts, which consisted of hard as rocks roasties, and very over cooked meat and seitan. When we discussed this with our waiter, we were informed the meal was like this "as we were a late booking in the day". We asked to speak to the manager regarding our meal, as well as the response given. The waiter left, and returned informing us he had spoken to the manager, and we were not going to be charged for our mains. The mains were inedible therefore minimally we would not have expected to pay for these. No manager approached us to discuss, nor did the waiter or manager offer any apologies on our experience. Not only will we not return, we will be passing on word of our experience to our friends and family across Norfolk.
Hello there We really enjoyed our afternoon tea however I can’t help but feel that the “mini” scones and cakes were not consistent with The Dial House’s usual standard. I often make a special trip to The Dial House just to have one of the AGA scones or a slice of cake from the cake trolley - but the scones and cakes on the afternoon tea were really disappointing. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have booked afternoon tea and I would have instead suggested to our out of town guests that we opt for the normal cream tea menu instead. I think it’s a real shame that the best of The Dial House isn’t reflected in the afternoon tea. Your cakes are so delicious but the cakes on the top tier were not very enjoyable. I will be back for the AGA scones (the best scones around) but I’ll never book an afternoon tea again or recommend it to friends and family unfortunately. The service however, and the beautiful private bookcase room, was absolutely perfect. The staff went out of their way to make us feel included and we loved the whole atmosphere behind the bookcase.
As always, the visit to the Dial House was a great occasion. Great food, friendly service and a fabulous place to be.
Portion sizes could be slightly bigger for the roast, I love my roasts and only got 2 roast potatoes :( One of our servers was very keen and we felt slightly rushed on Mothers Day to order / clean our plates! Other than that, food was delicious and service was good.
