Delicious Sunday lunch. Great choice of locka beers
Great food, service and selection of beers (as always!). Staff are friendly and helpful - always a pleasure to visit the Dev Cat!
Our team had an excellent Christmas lunch. The service was great and the space was comfortable for 20 of us.
Went for the Christmas meal. So Christmas music would have improved the atmosphere.
First time I had visited the Devonshire Cat after reading a review stating they did a good Sunday lunch. On arrival it wasnt what I expected as it appeared quite studenty (my friend & myself are late 40s/early 50s) but the food was good & the service spot-on. No complaints at all.
Food was great, service was good although had to ask for condiments. Wish we could been away from the main bar area as it was quite busy & loud.
The table was reserved for us and the staff were really friendly and helpful even when we needed another table as more people were coming than planned. The food was lovely and staff were very attentive and helpful nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be booking to come back here.
Great choice of beers. The Seabass Risotto was very good and the service was first class. It was a very enjoyable meal.
Lovely food, very good prices, my team enjoyed their Christmas meal very much - would definitely come again
Beers are great and lunch menu food was fine. The menu is quite extensive with different soup and pie selections each day as specials. It was queit the lunchtime we went in and so atmosphere was low, but that was fine for us on the day.
Friendly lovely atmosphere
Thanks very much to all at The Devonshire Cat. We had Christmas Drinks for volunteers with you last Thursday evening- you were attentive, gave us a lovely area and our budget went a long way too. Lovely venue, we'll be sure to repeat, thank you!
Great Christmas meal (I ate all my sprouts!) and drinks. Brilliant system for ordering and and service on the day.
Great night out, fabulous choice of ales and a very long gin menu! Extra happy with an excellent range of gluten free beer and lager available.
Excellent, coped with a large table of 14 people very well
Very nice meal and friendly staff
Lovely meal and good atmosphere but a little disappointed when we arrived at the bar, as the two members of staff carried on their own conversation and did not acknowledge us even with a smile or a nod. We were right in front of them but they made us wait until they were ready to conclude their chat. Also, a bit perturbed by dogs running around as we were being served our food as one dog ran towards the poor waitress causing her to side step which resulted in food sliding off one of the plates and ending up on the floor! Could have been a really good experience as the food was great.
Great city centre pub, excellent food, 1st rate service
Another good evening for our walking/drinking group. Made to feel very welcome.
Had this venue for my retirement party what a good choice. I chose the buffet menu. The food was great and plenty of it. The only negative was the chicken on the caesar salad was a bit overcooked. They have a great beer selection. The atmosphere is good without being too loud enabling people to catch up with old friends etc. The staff were great. Im really glad I chose this venue. I would also mention that I came to eat a few weeks previous top marks for the pie and peas.
It was surprisingly quiet for an early evening, and we probably didn’t need to pre-book, however as previous visitors we know it can get really busy. Food and service, as always, fantastic!
A pleasant atmosphere and a nice selection of food and drinks made it a very enjoyable evening for us all. Will be there again!
Food would have been 5 star but you’d run out of streaks before 7pm and the menu is quite small so there isn’t a lot of choice. I always go for the scotch duck egg starter (if it’s available) and my husband always has the pie of the day (which is always steak and ale)
We had a great night with excellent food and drinks. A number of my guests who'd not been to the Dev Cat before commented on how impressed they were.
Excellent food, but why have you stoppe doing the Hendo's Onions? :-(.
