About The Devonshire Arms Brasserie
Our vibrant brasserie & bar has a riot of rich jewel colours and contemporary art, this together with the buzz of guests and locals makes it a really unique little spot.
Evan, Ruth and their friendly team are sure to make your visit memorable with a warm welcome for everyone. The Brasserie is the perfect place to catch up for lunch, or to mingle with friends for dinner and enjoy a much deserved glass of wine after a hectic day. All of the dishes on the menu are served in the Brasserie or – weather-permitting – on the terrace; a real sun-trap for those wishing to enjoy our impressive views over The Dales.
There is an impressive selection of wines, available by the glass or the bottle and designed to accommodate all budgets.
We had a really lovely time. The weather helped, as it was sunny, but the staff were friendly and polite. The food was great also, but felt it wasn't anything special compared to what's available at other surrounding eateries. We have had exceptional meals at the Devonshire Arms previously and just felt that the menu could have been slightly better.
Great day out for my partners 30th birthday. All the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Amazing set up. Kept nice and warm. And very Covid secure.
Couldnt fault. Everything was excellent. The food, service and outdoor seating set up was excellent.
Despite terrible weather, had a lovely evening under cover outside. Delicious food and attentive, friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Lovely meal en plein air, under a brolly with heater. Excellent evening catching up with good friends.
Lovely evening meal out Al Fresco we were even able to bring our baby with us the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was even better.
Lovely restaurant and gorgeous food - simple but good quality ingredients and it showed! Staff all very helpful and attentive! Would definitely go again
We were booked for the brasserie but changed our minds when we arrived and went to the champagne and seafood restaurant instead as it looked a little more plush! It was great. We liked that cosy pink blankets were provided as we were eating outside, but under cover. The food was very good and the service slick and unobtrusive. We would definitely go again and try the brasserie too.
Such a delight to be able to return to the Devonshire - we had four box meals during lockdown but nothing beats being there and being looked after so nicely. It was cold, not the fault of the restaurant in any shape or form, and we look forward to retuning soon.
Wonderful food and service in a lovely place....cant wait to come back when it's warmer!
The whole Team made us feel very welcome (made sure we had lots of blankets available) and looked after us very well in what were not ideal weather conditions. The food was excellent. It was lovely to be out again eating at one of our favourite places
We had a fantastic meal yesterday. Even though it was cold, we sat under umbrellas with heaters and were given a rug for our lap. Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Already booked to return.
Lovely evening great service amazing views
Thank you for a wonderful lunch at the Brasserie. It was our first time eating out in many months and we were impressed with how well organised you were. The food was fabulous and the wine delicious. It was a real treat to have our dogs with us who slept under the table on the terrace during our lovely lunch. We look forward to doing it again!
Awful service . Ordered a second drink which never came . Chips were undercooked. Food was nearly warm.
We visited on Bank Holiday Monday - within COVID restrictions and with the worst bank holiday weather for years.... There was torrential rain, very strong, icy wind and it was generally absolutely horrendous.... HOWEVER.... the staff did absolutely everything they could to make things better, with warm blankets and very cheery dispositions - despite having to run the gauntlet of the weather, at every point. The food was great - we had Cappuccino, Hot Chocolate, Fish & Chips and Sausage & Mash and would have had pudding, if only our hands weren't so numb.If I had any slight negative (and it is very slight) it would be that there could have been more Mash. There also was a definite camaraderie amongst the customers, with obvious comments that "only the Brits would do this" etc - it was great fun. Looking forward to visiting again in warmer weather and/or indoors ....
Amazing food, lovely and helpful staff. The weather was horrible but the staff went above and beyond to make our experience as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Can’t wait to come back as soon as the sun is out again
Food and service was great, despite the rain. We had a very pleasant afternoon. Thank you.
Excellent - our meal was delicious!
Excellent food, service and location.
Fantastic service and good value for money. Pleasant evening
Brilliant, cheerful & efficient staff (despite them being wet through!), & really excellent food. Covered tables, patio heaters, fluffy rugs ... what more could you want? The Brasserie has definitely got outdoor dining down to a tee, way better than other places we've visited.
We have stayed and eaten at the Devonshire Arms many times. However on this occasion we did feel that the service was disjointed and not what we have come to expect. Simple thinks like being asked if we wanted any accompaniments and having nearly finished the meal when the wrong thing finally arrived. Different people serving and then left feeling we’d been forgotten about. As the evening got colder we were kindly asked if we would like blankets, however it became noticeable that the service was disappearing the colder it got. There were some good examples of service, however we had 5 different people serving us over the course of our meal and the feeling of disorganisation and being left for long periods but a dampener on what is normally a fabulous experience.
