About The Devonshire Arms Brasserie
Our vibrant brasserie & bar has a riot of rich jewel colours and contemporary art, this together with the buzz of guests and locals makes it a really unique little spot.
Evan, Ruth and their friendly team are sure to make your visit memorable with a warm welcome for everyone. The Brasserie is the perfect place to catch up for lunch, or to mingle with friends for dinner and enjoy a much deserved glass of wine after a hectic day. All of the dishes on the menu are served in the Brasserie or – weather-permitting – on the terrace; a real sun-trap for those wishing to enjoy our impressive views over The Dales.
There is an impressive selection of wines, available by the glass or the bottle and designed to accommodate all budgets.
Delightful brasseries style atmosphere. Interesting well presented food Suggest a 6oz steak available
Very warm welcome and excellent, friendly service throughout the evening. Delicious and well-presented food. Fish batter wasn't crisp so we were offered complimentary dessert in compensation. Atmosphere was relaxed but it's never going to be perfect under current circumstances. Will go again.
FANTASTIC FOOD,BEEF CHEEK AMAZING. WILL BE BACK AS SOON AS WE CAN. STAFF VERY HELPFUL. JULIE AND BRENDAN
Fab Meal and great service. Will definitely be returning.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Lovely meal, outstanding service - a place to which we return time after time! Thank you.
Excellent Sunday lunch as always
A fantastic, relaxing evening made all the better by fantastic food and service that was second to none. All the team made us feel incredibly welcome and it was incredibly safe and secure through effective social distancing.
Enjoyed our stay very much.
Porterhouse steak was delicious! Lovely, relaxing atmosphere!
The Brasserie is looking a little tired around the bar area and we noted another couple mentioning this also. Food good and excellent service
Fabulous once again!!
The social distancing and mask wearing requirements are destroying ambience and atmosphere
Delicious food and a very relaxed atmosphere. We shall certainly be back!
Fantastic location and great service. Thank you for a delicious meal.
First visit which did not meet expectations for the money
not bad in the circumstances but room for improvement
I was expecting a first class experience and unfortunately it ultimately it wasn't up to my expectations. The main issue was down to a miscommunication on pricing. Online, (at the time of booking and on the day) on the Devonshire Arms website it stated that Sunday lunch was £24.50 for 3 courses with a £5 supplement for beef. The menu we were given stated it was £30. When I raised this with the waitress I was told this was for week days only. The manager then stated he would honour the advertised price on the bill. When the bill was delivered it hadn't been honoured so I sent it back, but when returned I was informed that there was also a supplement for pork at £5, I questioned this but was re-assured that it was the case. When I checked the website later, it was only the beef that had a £5 supplement. I didn't return to get my £5 back as by that time I'd given up. The website still states the £24.50 deal as of today. I was only charged £5 over ultimately but the way the issue was handled was poor. I always though of the Devonshire as a place to go for a treat, I will be looking elsewhere in future.
Excellent Service Fabulous Food Thank you
3rd time in the Brasserie and the first to enjoy Sunday lunch. As always, a lovely treat. Service impeccable with very friendly, helpful waiting staff. The food all first class (I had the Roast Beef as main course, delicious. In these weird times the additions of Masks and Hand Gel did not in anyway spoil the experience. We will be back in the New Year staying in the Hotel. Always a Special place for us
We were cold when sat down for the first 20 minutes. However once the manager really he put some wood on the log burner and it soon got warmer. Service was attentive but not too much. The food was fabulous. For the quality of food it was good value. All covid rules were well adhered to.
Limited menu at inflated prices. The Brasserie lacked atmosphere and the quality of the food did not reflect the price charged. The red cabbage was watery and tasteless. Having said that, the staff were courteous and obliging
Excellent quality food - attentive staff - good value for money
We were running so late but you did everything you could to accommodate us and eventually we ended up in the Yurt. We couldn’t have wished for more after climbing Pen-Y-Ghent. You were all so welcoming and the fizz and beef bourguignonne was just the ticket given the weather outside. Thank you so much for having us. We really appreciate it.
Loved the food and the attention to our needs. Can’t wait to eat here again. Outstanding.
