About The Deck Restaurant
At The Deck restaurant, based in our exclusive Aqua Club, you can experience Mediterranean-inspired poolside dining. Approach along the rustic boardwalk entrance to The Deck and dine ‘al fresco’ overlooking the expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. When the rain and winds are unpleasant, bag a window seat inside and watch the weather rolling in or observe the activities taking place in the pools, just a touching distance away.
Taste the infusion of bold Mediterranean flavours provided by a culinary team dedicated to serving up the finest homemade flatbreads, mouth-watering Italian gelato ice creams, fresh seasonal salads and much more… wine, dine and relax amidst the breath-taking sunsets – an unforgettable part of the five-star experience at The Headland.
Flatbreads were nice, took a long for our food to come out, with 2 young children complaining that they are hungry it was frustrating that there was such a delay.
Fantastic lunch, excellent staff service and beautiful environment
Took 50 minutes from entering to receiving any food. Waitress was lovely, but maybe chef was stretched? Also asked for a voucher for spa cation / we never received this so had to re do the Bill - again not waitress fault, apparently hotel should’ve given us a voucher Overall not great
Wonderful food, great service and a relaxing atmosphere. The server was extremely efficient..will definitely book again in the spring..
Good choice of food which also tastes great
But more choice for instance sandwiches for adults
The young boy who showed us to our table and was our waiter was amazing! So welcoming & friendly. Could not fault him at all. However, the flatbreads were cold as we saw them sitting on the side for quite a while whilst our chips were being made. Also, it was quite pricey for what they were. £14 or £15 for a chicken pesto flatbread was quite extreme!! Next time we visit we will be eating in the main spa dining area or in the main hotel first before coming for a swim etc.
Lovely venue. Service was good but not totally attentive, I asked for sugars for my coffee but I never received them. The menu could have more choice. What we did have was very nice and enjoyable. Thank you
We had a lovely dining experience. It occurred to me when I got home that I hadn’t logged in my car details on arrival. Did I miss this aspect or have you changed your parking policy ?
Lovely new space for a light lunch. Menu abit limited but tasty! Drinks expensive.
Limited menu but what we had (flatbreads) were nice although rather stingy with the amount of chicken
Menu is limited.
Fabulous lunch, quick service & lovely relxing setting, thank you!
A really ambient new restaurant. The crab salad is amazing!
We had a lovely evening that was topped off with a absolutely lovely, attentive waitress that just made our evening. We wish cash could be exchanged as we wanted to leave her a large tip. ( so she could have brought another bracelet) M & L Good luck with your little ones Xx
Beautiful building & restaurant with classy decor & stylish comfortable furniture. We had Chicken Salad & Flatbread & shared Rosemary & Garlic Chips & Deconstructed Cream Tea with Ice Cream. It was a very nice meal. Friendly attentive service. The only negatives are that the menu is a bit restricted and niche. Feel that perhaps an opportunity has been missed to make it an outstanding culinary experience or offer different cuisine.
First visit to the 'Deck' Restaurant enjoyed the experience and will book a lunch there again, service was excellent, well done girls you made my friend and I feel very welcomed.
Lovely lunch, relaxing and friendly atmosphere, great food. We will be returning.
We enjoyed a lovely, indulgent relaxing lunch. We had the crab salad and the aubergine flatbread both of which were really tasty. The garlic and herb fries are naughty but mega! The surroundings were delightful and we enjoyed people watching those enjoying the pools!
It was a lovely venue but average cream tea. If your coming to headlands hotel for scones I’d suggest trying to get into the afternoon tea as it’s not very traditional (eg jam pre packed sachet)
Wasn't temperature checked as said on email and asked how we submit the car parking as it said we could have been fined???
Having stayed at the hotel at the beginning of the year we were really looking forward to our booking here. The menu looked lovely and the place itself is very nice, clean , fresh with amazing views. Unfortunately we were so disappointed by the food . The scones were rock hard, they were so stale and totally inedible. I mentioned to the waiter and he said he could go and get some fresh ones from the hotel . Why were we served stale scones ? The coffee was only luke warm and when we went to pay we were still charged for the one scone . The waiter said we would have to pay as my son had started to eat it . He had tried it but couldn’t continue as it was dreadful. We then were left waiting ages whilst he found a manager . We didn’t get to speak to a manager but although we didn’t end up paying for the scones feel totally disappointed as this was just not up to the same standard we received at the beginning of the year in the main hotel. We were also very surprised as this was the only place in our time in Cornwall we were not asked for our details for track/ trace . We were not asked at any point to provide our contact details or shown where to scan our phones . We would never normally leave a bad review but am sorry to say would definitely not recommend
The food was absolutely delicious and extremely good value for money. The garlic and rosemary fries were divine and the tomato and basil soup was scrumptious.Melamine plates and bowls were not nice at all. It felt like a picnic. The cutlery was lovely and weighted well. The cheap blue paper napkins/serviettes were awful. Waiting time for our lunch was too long. 2 waitresses and eventually a 3rd turned up and helped out as the restaurant was almost full. The views were spectacular. You get a mixture of sheer elegance with the view, the furniture and the food and then you get tacky plates/bowls and awful cheap serviettes you would expect in a greasy spoon transport cafe.
