About The Deacon
Modern British tavern on the square in the heart of Lytham. The Deacon offers both informal and formal dining with a truly British menu, in our conservatory, al fresco or in the bar. The world wide Gin list, a large selection of craft beer and wine list
Honestly a great (safe) experience at The Deacon. Can’t recommend enough.
Once again nice experience under these crazy times
Attentive staff; good food; pleasant atmosphere and excellent value for money.
Hello Michael, Ruth and I had a superb experience at The Deacon on Sunday !! The roast was excellent as was the service and your staff are to be congratulated for maintaining a very safe environment. All capped off with a bit of live music from Paul ! See you all again very soon !! Best regards, Mick Bonney Lytham
Not keen on sitting on high seats to eat, I would rather ask a waiter for drinks when I want them rather than being asked by waiters every two minutes if we want another drink even when it's clear we still have half full glasses.
Excellent evening food was beautiful great entertainment staff good too
Great food, attentive service
The Roast Beef dinner was the BEST I’ve had in a long time and the service was amazing.
Lovely atmosphere and food plus friendly helpful staff. Looking forward to my next visit. Thanks for looking after my wife and I.
We regularly eat in the deacon and can be quite nice but service is very poor, needs a manager to really get a grip of the staff and train them in customer service.
Had a lovely evening we felt safe with restrictions in place service and food was good😊
Lovely food and great service
Great lunch time meal and drinks, great staff.
It was great to have live music back where it belongs long live
Great food and drinks with exceptional service will definitely be returning
Wasn't as good as I expected it to be, very overpriced for some dishes and portions small. Very loud music, had a job to hear each other, more like a bar. Man next to us just kept effing and Jeffing which was not pleasant ! Wouldn't rush back, better place to eat .
Service was amazing
Had a great evening and the food was excellent. We’ll definitely return on our next visit to Lytham!
Slightly expensive for the quality of drink. Service was good, but abit slow at times. I’d say an issue with understaffing on the restaurant floor, but the quality of staffing was spot on with a 5/5 professional service when we actually got served. Good atmosphere and woild highly recommend
Had a brilliant experience on Saturday at the Deacon. Couldn’t fault anything. Attentive, efficient and lovely service from all the staff. The food was of a high quality and thoroughly enjoyed. Will be returning again soon.
Ellie was a great server and the fish pie was delicious. Thank you.
I came for lunch today with my family, the service and food was fantastic, however I was completely dissatisfied with social distancing measures in place in the dining area. I felt incredibly uncomfortable with people sat behind me in the booths. A couple sat directly behind me which wasn't even a metre away let alone 2 metres. They couple were not advised to sit at the other side of the booth and clearly were not concerned about this. We will not be visiting again whilst the current restrictions are in place as I felt that all the precautions that we have been taking were not upheld in The Deacon.
The best Sunday lunches in Lytham bar none!
Food has definitely gone down hill, it used to be our favourite place to eat but not anymore. The fish pie used to be a firm favourite but has gone down hill. Prices are way too high. Portions are pretty small.
