About The Deacon
Modern British tavern on the square in the heart of Lytham. The Deacon offers both informal and formal dining with a truly British menu, in our conservatory, al fresco or in the bar. The world wide Gin list, a large selection of craft beer and wine list
good as always just frustrating that they make it so difficult to make a booking for saturday lunchtimes - there is policy of no bookings before 5 p.m. but a group of 7 don't want to just chance it and turn up on speculation otherwise can't fault it
Excellent food and service, would recommend, friendly, pleasant, helpful staff
Friendly staff. Food good.
1) £3.50 for glass of coke was ridiculous on a works lunch meal!!!!!! When a pint of lager was only £4!!!!!!!!! Burger and a glass of coke £18??????? 2) Burger was an average size considering the £14.50 price tag....... decent standard but certainly didn't have a wow factor. 3) The barmcakes for the burgers had a "soggy bottom" as one of the party described it and was falling apart whilst eating them. 4) Another member was disappointed that an additional salad had to be ordered with a toastie considering the price 5) Service staff were nice and pleasant and helpful throughout the lunch. 6) Pleasant setting and ambience 7) Prompt service 8) Sweet potato fries got a positive review
Great night, great food and service, looking forward to going again
Always great food and service 👍
Great night food was excellent and the music fantastic. Looking forward to the next visit.
We came a few weeks ago on a Saturday night and the food was outstanding. Yesterday’s roast Sunday lunch was disappointing. The starters were just warm and I’m still waiting for my mayonnaise. The carrots with the roast were stone cold. Although replaced with a piping hot dish we had almost finished our meal and the extra gravy I requested never appeared !!! Lovely atmosphere with loud live music though. But the room was cold with quite a few people sitting in their coats. I did mention these issues to be told “a few teething problems”. Not a good enough answer when a place has been up and running for a while now ...........::..::
Lovely Sunday roast (various choices available) Amazing premium drinks options, not too expensive Great atmosphere with varied age groups, families, couples and groups Amazing spot on Lytham Piazza Internal decor is very in keeping with original RBS bank with special feature of the original strong room which houses the beer pipes in polished brass in full view via a glass door
Cottage pie dry and lacking taste but other dishes tasty . My booking was for Saturday but error shown as Sunday but amended on my phone call. Very friendly staff
Morgan really looked after us. ,and was very attentive. Good girl!! 👍🏻
Really good seasonal menu. Always great
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful meal and excellent service we will definitely be back again ten out of ten ♡ Jill.
What a great bar, full of character, good vibes and awesome food.
First class service as always. Terrific food and great ambiance.
Food was very good but the menu was very limited on vegetarian and Vegan options especially on the children's menu
All good. Sat in a booth which we asked for. The seat wasn’t too comfy but this didn’t spoil the excellent service or delicious food. Reasonable prices for what we had as well.
Had a fabulous meal and great service thanks
Great food brought some friends over from Manchester who also loved the food and service of all the staff. Thanks Again
Service was very slow, although once we managed to speak to a manager this was eventually addressed. Food was very average but didn’t feel we could complain having already complained about the service.
We booked for a meal , no mention of a band being on, not only could the waitress not here us , myself and my partner gave up talking because communication was impossible. We enjoy bands, but not when we are dining, these two things do not go together. We looked forward to eating at the Deacon but was very disappointed., certainly not the right atmosphere to eat in.
Good food in a really nice atmosphere.
Food was excellent, however the same can not be said for the service. We didn’t get seated straight away even though we had booked a table. Took a while for our order to be taken and plates to be cleared. Once the food did arrive we had to wait for one of the meals to come. I understand it’s a busy time of year, but still expect good service.
Great! Loved the music from the deadbeats too. Just could do with a bit more space!!
Booked a table for 8.15pm and we were seated straight away and offered a drink. Order was taken shortly after. We did have to wait around 45-50 minutes for our food which was quite a long time considering we didn't order any starters. The waitress did come over around 30 mins after taking our order to say our food wouldn't be long. She did say as we ordered a chicken risotto and beef dish that it would take slightly longer. This was fine, but we were slightly confused why she didn't say this at the time of taking the order came. No problems after this, food came it was delicious. One of my favourite restaurants in Lytham. Great atmosphere and lovely food!
