About The Deacon
Modern British tavern on the square in the heart of Lytham. The Deacon offers both informal and formal dining with a truly British menu, in our conservatory, al fresco or in the bar. The world wide Gin list, a large selection of craft beer and wine list
Simple food well cooked Excellent staff
Thanks for an enjoyable meal, service, venue and the food were very good
Easy to book on the internet, the food was really good and the service was spot on, lovely waitress and it was quick no waiting around for any meals or drinks.
Layla was great. Food was great. Nice one.
Booking was delayed by half an hour because the table was not ready. General service was poor.
It was our waitress's first day and she was excellent.
My 6th visit to the restaurant and I look forward to it every time! Great atmosphere, the staff have excellent knowledge of the food and drinks available - every time it's an enjoyable experience. Keep up the great work Deacon👍🏻
It was a busy bank holiday but service was smooth and timely , staff although busy were very efficient and polite . Food was very nice compliments to chefs . Would recommend and will return. This was our second visit ; recommended to us by a friend .
Disappointed with The Deacon - the sharing board for starters was excellent but the main course dishes were mediocre and comparatively expensive for what they were. Will be reluctant to return as we have had far better experiences with food and atmosphere elsewhere.
We had the fish cakes main meal but were very disappointed with the size of the meal. I have been in many other places where the same size portion is given as a starter. It would be more reasonable to include a portion of fries in the price . Probably won't eat here again because of this .
Friendly staff, good atmosphere and great food.
Very nice meal and great service
Fantastic service and very friendly staff
been in a few times for drinks but last night we came for Sunday dinner. We had the devilled crab & Bon bons to start & then roast beef dinner & the Cajun chicken with a side of dauphinois potatoes. Food was delicious & worth every penny (especially the surprise of cauliflower cheese with the roast dinner). Service was great, where we were sat the sun was in my eyes, we asked if it was possible to move to a booth & we were moved immediately! Can’t wait for my next Sunday roast!
A great visit as always
Disappointed with menu, expensive for what was available, couldn’t fault the service which was very good though. Awful starter in Chicken Liver Pate, tasteless and toast rock hard and bland. Be careful where you sit in the glass frontage as when it started to rain the roof leaks and my wife got soaked!
Second time visit here, previously was a lunch time meal. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, our waitress was very attentive but not at all intrusive to the occasion. Would have preferred the crispy chilli squid to have had more of a kick, but was still delicious. Likewise with the spicy fries - they were the only thing that was a slight let down. Desert was amazing and the gin choice was excellent.
Excellent food with a great service, would definitely recommend to all. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was of the highest quality! Ps the puddings are amazing...
Lovely evening Nice surroundings More custard or cream with the bread and butter pudding would be nice. Quite dry without Great selection of gins.. and our particular favourite Manchester raspberry gin. Will return again
Had a lovely evening. Will go back.
Excellent meal and service, well done
Food delicious, service very good but the room was far too loud with voices and music to fully appreciate our dinner.
Great location, great bar and dining area, food excellent . very pleasant staff - overall a great night out .
Excellent service, staff are lovely, food is fantastic! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend
As long-standing and loyal customers at Henry’s we were really disappointed when it closed. But thankfully The Deacon is a more than adequate replacement - we love the conservatory. Just please bring back the buffalo wings!
