About The Deacon
Modern British tavern on the square in the heart of Lytham. The Deacon offers both informal and formal dining with a truly British menu, in our conservatory, al fresco or in the bar. The world wide Gin list, a large selection of craft beer and wine list
Food fantastic. Staff very friendly and attentive. 3rd visit - been consistently good each time.
Duck overcooked which was disappointing. Staff work extremely hard, but despite this we were waiting a long time for service. Atmosphere is great. Just need more staff to provide a good customer service for the money.
Never had anything but great service, delicious food and a lovely time at The Deacon. It’s a fab spot, really relaxed and comfortable but quality food and drinks. Keep on doing what you’re doing.
Very enjoyable evening overall. We had to wait for over 30 mins for our pre booked table but could sit in the bar while we waited. Food and drink was very good and on the whole reasonably priced. Service staff were very friendly and helpful but need to be a little more attentive to get full marks - forgot to bring our wine order. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Will certainly return!
Lovely tasting food with great service Some of the servings could have been a bit bigger but that didn’t spoil a great evening
The adults meals were lovely but both the children left the chicken goujons as they said they tasted peculiar !
Excellent service... Lovely food..
Overpriced for average food. Ordered strawberries and ice cream for dessert....£6.50 i think.....2 and a half strawberries and one of those was mouldy. Wouldnt go back
Really good Gluten free choices I wish all restaurants had such clear menus showing what is Gluten free.
Lovely meal for a birthday, we had quite a large table so can sometimes be difficult to serve. However Morgan was the perfect server. Nothing was too much for her and gave great recommendations for those who couldn’t decide what they wanted. The food was delicious and the gins were amazing! Thank you!
Puzzled by restriction on table occupancy as it wasn’t crowded by any means. Wasn’t very warm but appreciate appalling day outside.
The Roast Beef dinner was utterly outstanding.
Food and service very good but music WAY too loud, especially for a restaurant. We struggled to have a conversation whilst dining, a point reflected by comments from fellow diners we spoke to. It isn't a disco, it may be a meeting place with a bar, but it is primarily a restaurant.
Waited 20 minutes for our booked table which was dissatisfying , I wouldn’t of minding if I hadn’t booked. Went to the bar for a drink as we waited 2x double gin £25 that must be the most expensive in Lytham for sure!! The Sunday roast was really good. We didn’t get offered puddings so after 15 minutes I asked for the bill and had to ask another two times before we actually got the bill. Really mixed review. Would be willing to retry in the future .
So very very disappoinited and will not be returning or recommending it to any of our customers
The food was delicious as always even though the menu had changed, service was fantastic as always too.
Enjoyable evening had at The Deacon will definitely recommend to my friends.
Always good quality food & service
Excellent food and service
The lamb rump I had was well presented however not cooked pink as the I was told the chef cooked the dish/meat. Hence I have to mark down the food & value. Kind Regards
Lovely atmosphere, fabulous food and drink. Our server looked was friendly, attentive and looked after us wonderfully
Lovely food and really good service.
Nice bar and restaurant with reasonably priced food which was very good. Service was a bit hit and miss but it was very busy at the time.
Lovely food and atmosphere. Service was good, just took a little while for us to place our food orders. Once that was taken everything moved swiftly! Will return again.
Good setting - staff very helpful - food very good
