About The Deacon
Modern British tavern on the square in the heart of Lytham. The Deacon offers both informal and formal dining with a truly British menu, in our conservatory, al fresco or in the bar. The world wide Gin list, a large selection of craft beer and wine list
A first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. The range of gins was amazing and excellent recommendations helped our choice. We opted for small plates to give a variety and these provided a great range of flavours. Will come back and have already recommended to friends.
First time at the Deacon and would recommend and return. Not too happy with the music but I have to accept I am a not a "young" person and recognise the Deacon attracts a lot of young people who clearly enjoy that type of music. I particularly commend the staff attention on various issues - from the management to the waiting staff. Thank you
Cracking food and perfect setting!
Most enjoyable evening food ,service excellent creating a very warm and enjoyable atmosphere
Our visit yesterday was only marred by the fact that the Sunday Roast had all been served and there was none left by 1700! Go early if you like the roast as I do! We had Fish Pie, which was very nice but just not the same! Malbec went down well though! Also please please put the Sticky Toffee Pudding back on the dessert menu!
Thanks very much Mrs Burke for your kind review - the Sticky Toffee Pudding is now back on the menu :)
Lovely restaurant and great food, would definitely recommend x
Thanks very much for the thumbs up Mrs Skeggs.
Had a lovely evening, great food and service
Thanks very much for the recommendation Mrs Jackson.
Atmosphere and food were excellent. Couldn't fault a thing.
Thanks very much Mr Harrison - much appreciated.
Amazing food, best creamed spinache I have had 🙈 Very child friendly Thank you
Thanks very much for the digital thumbs up Mr Searle.
We had wonderful evening with our family and a truly outstanding experience. We would highly recommend this to others.
I'm very pleased to hear you had an outstanding experience - hopefully see you soon!
Really enjoyed the food & had a lovely evening here with friends
Thanks very much for the recommendation Catherine - much appreciated.
Beautiful restaurant with incredible food! Would definitely recommend to anyone 👍🏻
Thanks very much for your kind words Karen.
Great food and service, outstanding fish & chips you need to invite Gordon Ramsey to taste these and see how its done. Only downside was the noise levels which seemed to increase as time went on - not sure why people need to shout when eating!
I'm not sure why people feel the need to shout either Mr Turner! I'm really pleased you enjoyed the Fish N Chips though.
Lovely venue and staff only negative comment is that closes early on food on quiet nights so need to call first. But would definitely recommend
Thanks very much for the constructive criticism - see you soon hopefully.
Was an excellent evening everything was excellent we had a great night out. Thanks to all
I'm very pleased you enjoyed the evening Mr Feilding - hopefully see you soon.
Great Sunday roast, friendly helpful polite staff, never had a bad experience at the Deacon.
Pleased to hear it Mr Webster!
Food is always good and consistent- would highly recommend 👍😊
Thanks very much for the recommendation.
Another restaurant in Lytham, good food and more of an atmosphere
Not just another restaurant but the only one serving freshly made, home cooked restaurant dishes (except for Fine Dining at Novello).
£4.50 for a very small bucket of chips was disgraceful they should have been part of the main anyway (Duck Two ways). Also all our chips x3 mains had an "off" fat oil taste, and no that s no a dripping taste. The chips did not not taste like the dripping chips you get at most F&C shops in Yorkshire. I think something is wrong with your chips. No Real Ale amongst your beers just craft disappointing.
I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed - there is a lot more to The Deacon to consider than simply chips though. We don't sell cask ale no unfortunately - The Taps do a good job of that down the road. Our cellars are bloody well kept though.
background noise levels were very high. This needs addressing as they could be above the recomended limit. The food is nice but is a bit expensive. The sweet looked like it had been thrown on to the plate, never seen Strawberries and icecream on an 200mm plate!
Great menu with good selection of healthy food options and fab service !
Loved the gin selection. Food is expensive for what you get. Cajun chicken was very small. Place was extremely expensive at £21 and neither dishes included chips or side dishes. The Deacon coleslaw was tiny. Loved the decor and the atmosphere but feel it's a bit mean on the food front.
Had a lovely meal for my sons 21st birthday. Never been to the Deacon beforehand, we came following a friends recommendation. Will definitely be coming back
Excellent food and service at The Deacon. Unsure what to expect as had read mixed reviews but we had a fantastic experience here in every way. The food was excellent and the service exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend booking early as we did and were able to secure a booth in the window. Will definitely return
Lovely friendly staff and tasty food in a nice setting
