About The Deacon
Modern British tavern on the square in the heart of Lytham. The Deacon offers both informal and formal dining with a truly British menu, in our conservatory, al fresco or in the bar. The world wide Gin list, a large selection of craft beer and wine list
Always consistently excellent food and service! Thoroughly enjoyed by all our party. Will definitely return for more😊
Amazing duck dish from the special menu!
Reserved a table for 9 including 2 highchairs and a lady in a wheelchair. on arrival they thought it was 7 including highchairs and were not very forthcoming with apologising and trying to accommodate us. We had to ask for another table and then another one as not enough room. We were crammed all in a corner so 3 people had to move every time someone wanted to go to toilet. Food was nice but kids meals were too fancy so couldn’t order anything for them. Kids meals were expensive. Lovely pub and decor. Slow service. May return
Having a live band on whilst trying to have a meal with someone is plain stupid. No problem with having a band but offering a 'normal' restaurant service under those conditions is silly. Having to shout to someone whilst having a meal is a crazy position to be in. Theres plenty of other places to eat and will not be returning to The Deacon.
It was my daughters 12th birthday and last minute she wanted to invite friends out for a meal and wanted ‘somewhere really nice’. They chose the deacon. Booking was easy and I left a question regarding meals for juniors. I had a call back which really helped. Service was great and staff were excellent. ‘Juniors’ had a lovely night. Would highly recommend. And adults had a lovely drink at the bar 👍
Excellent service and Fish Pie
First impressions, good all round. Attentive service, staff turned off a heater on request, food arrived quickly, although a quiet night, still had a pleasant ambience. Will return 😊
Out of 8 of us 6 were completely happy with their food. The 2 that had shepherd's pie found it rather dry and were rather shocked at being charged 50p for the extra gravy.
Great food and great service, thanks Katy!
Excellent food and service - with great entertainment on a Sunday!
Food was very tasty, but it took crazy long time to serve - and we were in early before it got busy! Those delays were compounded with one of our party’s main course not appearing & staff taking a long time to acknowledge this and even more time delays before it finally appeared - after the rest of the party had finished. We were pretty chilled despite this really poor experience, and having plenty of reason to have a strong complaint, but then really felt badly treated when it turned out the restaurant owner was the man at the next table who seemed to just be joking about our delays, and who having been made aware of the problem didn’t seem to care enough about his customers to take the one step over to our table to say sorry for the poor experience we were having.
Buzzing and busy as usual but staff remained attentive and helpful. Great food at fair price. Will return again and again
Professional staff excellent food. Definitely back soon
Enjoyed our evening. Had tried to call on several occasions and never got an answer no matter what time I called.
Absolutely fabulous evening. We took some friends from out of town and they were very impressed. The service was great and food top class
Awesome place to catch up with friends
We thought we would give this place another chance We came a few times a while ago but the service is always just so shockingly bad , it totally puts us off.
Terrible service on drinks and food. Food was bland and average for what you are charging
Requested a specific table when booking and this was allocated on our arrival. Good selection available on the menu and what we had was excellent.
Food was great. Service was great. Very good atmosphere
We had the Sunday roast ,was tasty but gravy extremely salty ! Roast potatoes seemed reheated and not fresh n crispy Wasn’t the best ! Atmosphere good and staff all lovely
Absolutely fantastic night - food was amazing and the service was great, would highly recommend to others
Had a fantastic meal, service was excellent and we had a great time listening to the music while eating. Fabulous atmosphere to the point we stayed a lot longer than planned!!
Great food with a really good atmosphere from the live band highly recommend
We had super food once again at the Deacon but some of the atmosphere was spoilt and not for the first time by drunk lads eating like pigs, swearing and generally making a nuisance of themselves with other people around them and the waitresses. Why do you let this happen and where is the manager? the waitresses were once again left to deal with the fall out and everyone breathed a sigh of relief once they left. Its not good enough Im afraid as the food and wines are too expensive to put up with that kind of behaviour. Our bill was £183 for the 3 of us - far too much to share the dining experience with drunk fools.
