A lovely lunch... super setting and very friendly staff.
Best steak my husband had had for awhile. Never had a bad meal here
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, food and service were excellent. We appreciated the fact that we were never made to feel rushed or anyone needed to go home.
We wish the restaurant was closer to where we live.We have always enjoyed our visits
Great lunch and service - as always
Excellent meal as usual - we would expect no less from this wonderful place. There were 7 adults and 2 children at our meal, however, mother staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommended.
Excellent meal on Sat 7 April.High quality food and cooking backed up by efficient and friendly service .
The setting is excellent, as is the food and service.
As always fabulous. Inventive seasonal menu, never any less than perfect beer and warm welcoming service. Thank you
Great food and a thoroughly enjoyable evening
As ever a warm welcome, excellent service and good quality food - an excellent Sunday Lunch!
Nice dining room. Slightly limited lunch menu. Didn’t feel like the food was worthy of good food guide status but dinner menu looked better.
Warm welcome and friendly staff!
We had a really lovely Sunday lunch to celebrate Mother's Day and will definitely be coming again and recommending to friends. The food was amazing, thank you.
We had our wedding reception here on 10th March and it was amazing from beginning to end. The food was superb and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Can't recommend enough and we will be back in the very near future. A massive thank you to Kerry and all the staff for making our day perfect. Andy and Helen Pilgrim
Friday night, just wanted a relaxed bite to eat, chose from the Pre fixe menu, food excellent and even surpassed our expectations, which we quite high being very familiar with the Dawnay, which is always excellent. Great service, even down to ensuring we got our favourite table. Thank you !
An absolutely excellent Sunday lunch with tender, tasteful beef, vegetables (particularly cabbage) that were fresh, lightly cooked and full of flavour. Will most certainly return! Thank you.
After being snowed in we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary in our local village pub. We sat by a roaring log fire . The pub had a great atmosphere as there were quite a few couples dining in the warmth. We both had the French onion soup to start which warmed us up- My husband chose the rib eye steak and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the chicken ,ham and leek pie which was very tasty.. We finished with the Lemon creme brûlée which was delicious. I love the fact that Kerry has my favourite double Dutch mixer in stock which goes well with a Hendricks gin. Another great meal in our fabulous village pub-open in all weathers.
The food was excellent along with the best table in the pub next to the open fire. Will difenitley return
Excellent experience; look forward to returning soon
Always a great atmosphere and place to have an amazing Sunday lunch!
Lovely venue for a family meal, excellent food, good choice of craft beers and very friendly service. Will definitely be back!
This is a quality, village real ale pub experience. Complete with fire and Black Sheep on draft. 'Landlady' runs a tight ship, can look a little stern, friendly young hands on deck. One thought would be to enclose more the eating area immediately to right when coming through front door. Smaller door into this room would create more intimate space. Trust helpful Phil and Carla
Great place for Sunday lunch. Staff very clued in and food excellent.
