About The Culpeper
A waterfront staple, The Culpeper brings the tastes of international seafood and barbecue to the ports of Auckland. Trust that The Culpeper know their stuff when it comes to meat, with small and large share plates of smokey BBQ offerings and fresh seafood. Pull up a chair and grab a cocktail as you let the good vibes and great food whisk you away.
Thank you to the team- another great time - food, drink and service, particularly during Happy Hour with your team. Great talking with Adrian 😉🥂and we look forward to seeing you once I am fully recovered (up coming op on Monday - nothing else!) Francie, Graeme and Margaret Ps spacing between tables seemed good to! Not too close to anyone else- stay safe guys!
Fantastic night, great service ,atmosphere food and drink. Very much appreciated by a birthday group
We went to The Culpeper because of the excellent reviews. On arrival, we were surprised that the actual menu was far more restricted than the pictures on their website would suggest. It was happy hour so we ordered oysters, fries and wine. The oysters were excellent and fries were excellent and the wine was good. There was then a considerable time before we received our entrees and no one came to offer another round of drinks. It became obvious that the restaurant was severely understaffed. Two at the table ordered the Tuna Poke Bowls, there were two sizes available, after discussing the quantity of the portion with the sever, we both ordered the large. We were both very disappointed with the quantity of the bowl and the lack of ingredients in the bowl. When the cost of the bowl is $29., the customer shouldn’t leave hungry. It was very disappointing.
Really friendly staff, nice vibe really good food!
Beautiful service and lovely food.
Delicious food. Helpful waiter
Really disappointing! The waitress pointed to a table and said that’s yours. Sat for 10 minutes then I went and found some menus. Eventually someone saw us and brought over water. We were at a table by a wall isolated from every thing. The young waitress was very pleasant. We had the fish was pleasant then we sat again with empty plates because we were removed from the ambience we just sat there! Then we were noticed and a desert menu was offered. Only 2 items! My wife said I begrudge giving them anymore money so we left. We had an entertainment voucher so the price of the meal was bearable. I fed all this back to the waitress as we left. I have eaten here a few times before and enjoyed it, but the new menu is bland and the service poor! We had desert in another bar. It was literally like eat and leave instead of an enjoyable night out!
We were a group of four with each of us choosing a different meal. All of us enjoyed our meal without complaint. The Waitress serving us was exceptional in manner and knowledge of the menu. We will definitely return. Cheers, Mike Gerrard
Great place for a Team diner
Absolutely amazing evening at this beautiful place. The food was divine and nothing could be faulted. Would recommend.
Always a pleasure to visit Culpeper, food is always good value for money and service very good.
Staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Always a nice spot on sunny Friday afternoon!
Fried chicken was delicious! Lovely service and outlook
We loved our meal here! Great service, delicious food, altogether a great night out.
My top 5 in Auckland
The service was spectacular and the food was delicious. Thank you for a lovely lunch! Highly recommend visiting this establishment for a meal.
We had a great time over there. Thanks a lot!
Excellent food and service, would recommend for drinks and or dinner..
Just really good food and service could watch peoples drinks a little more. A bit slow with drinks
I was very disappointed with my lunch. I had a BBQ chicken salad. Small pieces of chicken on a lot of yellow Coss lettuce with BBQ sauce over the chicken. For $23
The place is very nice. Good oysters and friendly staff :)
We came on first table and i don't know why this was why we got what we did. The service started out good, and then it seemed we were forgotten, food was average. My friend asked if the onions in the tuna ppke bowl could be cooked, the waitress said yes. They were not. My brisket was 40-50% of pure fat that was in edible, my friends desert the apple pie was burnt and missing some pastry on top. Overall we won't be back, unfortunately.
The brisket my wife had was really good. I had a taste from hers. I had the sirloin, which cam in the pa. The music came through a bit loud on our table, but was turned down a bit on request. We had the first table so 50% of the food, which was a real bonus. A good start of the night.
Great meal, service was great.
