Great pub with good food
Thank you so much for hosting Dunbar Sings' New Year get-together. The food was served promptly and the staff were very helpful. There was a good choice of food for meat eaters and vegetarians, and the kitchen staff put together a special meal for one member of the group who has particular dietary restrictions. We had a lovely evening (as we always do when we visit the Crown and Kitchen) and will definitely be back!
We had a really lovely lunch on Saturday, excellent food, friendly staff, relaxing ambiance. Thank you!
Lovely place, staff were very friendly. Food was good and great selection of cocktails & drinks
Great staff and amazing brunch!
Not sure if prices were higher because of the time of year but I did feel that £57.90 for two adult and two child mains with two glasses of wine and a couple of soft drinks was a little steep. Not a massive criticism and perhaps I am just a little out of touch. Please do not take offence, I would not have said anything had you not asked. Happy Christmas!
Throughly enjoyed our evening at the Crown & Kitchen. Food was great and staff very friendly.
Came here for a Christmas lunch a few years ago and the service and food was great so was very much looking forward to going back. This time the food was a bit of a mixed bag - the starter of smoked halibut was good and tasty. The main course of traditional roast turkey was a bit of a let down. The accompanying veg were so hard that they were inedible. Might have been an idea to check them before they left the kitchen. And one pig in blanket. Really. The Christmas sticky toffee pudding saved the day followed by a couple of coffees which were meant to be included in the meal along with a mince pie. We were charged for the coffees and the mince pie didn't appear. The waiter reluctantly uncharged us for the coffees adding that they were only complimentary for large groups. Rather odd. All in all pretty poor service, with no atmosphere which is a shame as it's a cracking wee pub.
There were 2 menus to choose from, with plenty of choices. We picked the festive menu & were very impressed with the variety of the food. The quality was excellent, fine dining. I've already recommended eating here to friends.
Excellent lunch. Very flavoursome.
Play better music. Simplest thing in the world and can transform the place massively in a positive way
Really enjoyed the food, waitress was lovely and attentive, surroundings were fine, warm . Would def return
We had a lovely meal in a dog friendly restaurant. We will be back.
Lovely cosy atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff! Will visit again!
As always, a very lovely steak.
Stayed in The Wynd and would suggest that perhaps the blind on the window could be fixed. The light is right outside the window and perhaps would be better with a blackout blind. But the room is lovely.
Absolutely fabulous, loved every bit of our stay. Fab times!
The only negative comment was that the seeded scone with the starter was rather dry. Everything else was really good and the staff excellent. Well worth a visit.
Good food, nice buzz when you come in the front door, service was attentive and understanding. We had a noisy 4 year old and he had the best fish and chips he has ever had! Scoffed the lot. Happy to go back.
Your food is always good, however, last night between the main menu and the specials you had five burger options available which on your limited menu is far to many. A meat and vegan option on the main is fine but another three on the specials is not really giving nearly enough of a choice especially as between the two menus you also had three fish options and not enough meat options. You could also have made your Mac & Cheese side a main dish to widen the choice. Please look at more choice to us to savour.
Fantastic stay. Food and accommodation were to a very high standard - so many lovely touches. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
We love the Crown & Kitchen, we wish it was closer to where we stay in Gullane so we could visit more regularly. Much tastier food than we’ve eaten in the Bonnie Badger tonight and way better value for money!
Second time we have stayed . Beautiful rooms. Lovely food and lovely helpful staff
Excellent as always.
