About The Crown Aston End
A friendly restaurant in the Aston End countryside. Serving great food with excellent service.
Staff were very accommodating, when asked about adding extras to our order the waitress gave approximate times for arrivals in order that we could choose whether to add them or not. Only fault was that at the end of our meal we ordered coffees & teas and one of the white coffees was stone cold. This was changed straight away but it should never have made it to the table.
The pub was absolutely slammed on Easter Sunday but the team did a great job. Well done and Thankyou
Had a Sunday roast - beef was lovely, Yorkshire had dried out too much and turned to powder in the mouth, carrot had rubbery again from sitting around for too long after being cooked and the kale was watery. Service was very good.
Lovelly village pub, friendly staff, and tasty food. Great play area for children. Only downside was i felt a little rushed with the ordering. But nothing to stop me going back :)
Food was good. But menu not very extensive. No steak only chicken as main meat. We don't like pizza or burgers. Not much choice really.
Fantastic food and service.
Some extr gravy in a jug on the table would have been great. fish and chips was amazing!
Disappointed - ordered fish and chips and got french fries which are no substitute. Apparently they ran out of the delicious chips they usually serve because it had been a busy day. However they only told me this when I asked afterwards and not - as they should have done - when I ordered as we would have chosen another dish. Fish and french fries just ain’t no good!
Very limited menu. Several dishes sold out. Disappointed as brought friends, we had recommended the Crown It was not up to normal standards.
Great for lunch and even better that we could bring the dogs in to sit with us!
Lovely sunday lunch
All food great but cock a leeky pie served with just beans and no potatoes seemed a much smaller portion than fish and chips or mushroom cobbler. Friendly staff, delicious food and warm cosy atmosphere. We had a lovely evening!
Managed to get a late booking for 9 people, they did everything they could to squeeze us in. 4 adults, 5 kids, served by the lovely Louise who was great, remembered everything without needing to write it down. Roast beef was full of flavour with a big crispy Yorkshire pud. Everything a pub roast should be. Live music from 4pm had the kids entertained. They even had a request or two played for them. A great, cosy place to shelter from the wind and rain on Sunday afternoon.
Lovely Sunday lunch. Only blip was cauliflower cheese which seemed rushed and more melted cheese than a proper white sauce.
Lovely people, good service, nice food
Busy popular pub, good food and atmosphere. Staff work hard. Look forward to visiting in the summer!
Booked a table 2weeks prior to dinning when arrived sold out if all roast choices an other items on menu no prior warning other than when sat down to eat think very poor as think covers should have been catered for rather than the walkins
Good food with excellent service.
Been coming here a few times now. Lovely pub and food and always good service. Only negative is I would like to see some more gluten free options available. As someone with celiacs I only had a couple of choices on the menu so was a bit disappointed. The gluten free pizza however was the best I have had anywhere. Amazing!
We had a lovely meal, relaxing environment with very helpful and polite service. Was a bit surprised at the bill £117 for 2, (with just two drinks each) but a very enjoyable evening.
The hospitality and service was fine. We ate sea bream which was cooked to perfection, but the dish overall was let down by the vegetables. Cold cabbage, not well seasoned, cold squash purée, mashed potatoes not very well mashed ( I think they were jackets sonthey weren’t creamy and there were hard lumps ) we did not say anything to the waitress because we did not want to embarrass our friends.
Great initial service but as the restaurant got busier the level of service reduced. Could have done with one more server.
A very enjoyable evening.
Very friendly service but only 1 poor lady having to serve and wait on every table. Did her best and was good, just wasn't the fastest. Food good as per. Coffee was awful and think the machine needed cleaning! We mentioned this and was removed from bill. Also cream had started to go off on one of the desserts also. Otherwise very good. Have eaten with you before and had a great experience. I hope the reason for the lone waitress being due to a staff member being absent and not planned approach to have one poor lady cover the whole pub.
We had a NYE booking for a party of 4. The food and service was absolutely superb.
