About The Crown Aston End
A friendly restaurant in the Aston End countryside. Serving great food with excellent service.
Great service for our large party. Thank you!
Amazing food, friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going again. Next time I’m taking the dogs
The ramp put down for my wife's scooter (not a wheelchair) left her stranded on top!
26 of us for lunch on a Sunday, roast’s were good
My first and last visit. The whole experience felt shabby and unprofessional from the moment we arrived. Lots of staff who simply ignored us on arrival. Despite being virtually no customers when we arrived the place was a mess with trays of dirty glasses lying around. Despite using your booking service it was obvious nobody was expecting us as we had to wait for a table to be prepared. Half of the already limited menu was unavailable and the beer I had was flat. Staff seemed untrained and unprofessional. What food was available was overpriced. We had planned to have a full evening at your venue but ended up rushing one course and one drink and leaving after half an hour. Incredibly disappointing.
Disappointed with the range on menu.
Great location. Food great atmosphere is always good. The range of drinks is very good and a brilliant team in place always friendly. Love this place keep up the good work guys!
Really friendly staff
We reserved an area outside in the covered patio for our daughters 18th birthday celebrations and were very happy with the whole evening. The new covered area with heat lamps was very welcome as although it rained heavily we were dry & warm under the covers. The service was excellent- we were allocated a waitress to get drinks orders for our guests which saved everyone having to queue at the bar. The food was delicious too, would highly recommend if you are looking for a function venue
Food was great! But unfortunately the service didn’t match. Waiter and waitress walked pasted our table several times, looked and noticed that our table needed clearing but did nothing. We had to ask them to clear the table. The atmosphere was little low due to staff setting up for a wedding. Yes I understand that this is important to get right for those guests but remember you have other customers. I don’t think we will be returning.
Could do with a bigger lunch menu, also please do a coffee/cake deal and afternoon teas are a must!
Great venue. Lovely garden. Great area for kids. Reasonably priced food too
Although very hot and busy, staff were friendly and kitchen staff efficient. Food didn't take as long as I might have expected given the amount of people eating in the garden. Had the pizza for the first time and it was nicer than the prezzo pizza.
Overall a lovely meal, however upon ordering we were not told that jacket potatoes had run out so by the time we were told we had already eaten over 3/4 of our main and chips Arrived once we had finished the main course! Staff were doing there best on a clearly very busy day and certainly did not seem to be enough staff.
Far too busy to provide a decent service. The food was not hot enough and some of the items on the menu were not available. This pub is trying to do too much and It is not working. I will not be returning.
Pointless having a comment section on the online booking system as comments not acknowledged by team. My son stepped in dogs mess is the children’s play area, he ate his dinner and went home smelling of poo. Not pleasant! Toilets were disgusting, staff informed but was clearly disinterested. Staff seen hiding in top garden area on their phones. Food mediocre at best.
We held our sons christening party here for 70 people, it was lovely and all staff were very friendly and helpful, definitely reccomend!
Good food and decent variety of drinks. Staff are amazing.
All greeted with a warm welcome. Our favourite place in the area by far
Turned up late on Saturday for dinner and the place was a bit of a shambles. Understaffed bar with rubbish and full rubbish bags sitting on the side. Food and drinks expensive for the location and quality of service. Managers spent more time dealing with complaints and filling already half full fridges while ignoring the increasing irate customers behind them. There were staff outside tidying up taking plates and drinks in but were a bit slow. Wouldn't bother going, there's better places around Stevenage.
An excellent meal. We all had something different. Lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon
Thank you for being so accommodating to our large party at such short notice. I had friends over from California, originally from Stevenage on a visit to us for a couple of days and needed to find a venue to host 30+ guests. The location, venue, food and service was superb and we were with you over two days, Friday evening and Saturday afternoon /evening. Please say thank you to all concerned in looking after us, especially the bar waitress, am not sure I think her name was Kelly, she worked tirelessly all night on Friday looking after us all. We will definitely be using your pub more often. Thank you very much again.
Overall a great evening in the sunshine, but; 1. Service at the bar was a total joke, so slow and run out of too many drinks. 2. Two of our eight meals were forgotten about so we had to chase them and eat separately to the rest of us. 3. Menu choice was pretty limited but staff were pleasant and the surroundings nice.
Lovely afternoon spent in the garden. Friendly service, tasty, well cooked food and a few beers...spot on!
We had a lovely time. Well organised buffet with lots of tables reserved for guests. Thank you!!!
