About The Crown Aston End
A friendly restaurant in the Aston End countryside. Serving great food with excellent service.
Really friendly staff, lovely food and great service
Service could have been better - wrong table number meant waitresses kept walking up and down with our food before identifying the table number was incorrectly recorded and ordered Cauli Cheese which failed to materialise. More choice of desserts made available
Sadly, the service wasn't great :(
Absolutely fantastic place to visit had a wonderful evening and will be sure to return!
Food was brilliant but the service was awful, especially at the bar. One of the male bar staff was particularly rude and cocky, especially towards the other members of staff who I think were new. Our food order was partially wrong, but was cooked to perfection, and the BBQ chef seemed to be trying very hard to restore some sort of order. With some better trained staff, this would be the best pub in the area
When we visited in January we both had the squid for starter, was so delicious ordered again yesterday, was so greasy it was awful. Have you changed chef?
We booked a last minute large table this weekend, I phoned in to book and was helped by a friendly voice who dealt with my booking. We pre ordered food to speed things up and that worked brilliantly the food arrived not long after we arrived which was great as we had lots of hungry children :) the food was very yummy, we ended up staying for most of the evening, the pub was very accommodating to families and the children loved th garden area so all round very happy! Would defineltey come back again :)
Great play area for children
We came to the pub for the first time on a really hot day so naturally the pub was very busy. The team however didn’t seem prepared for it at all. There was chaos inside and out with very long wait times, limited staff available and the menu on show was not available. The food that was served was almost cold by the time it got to us, only 1 meal arriving at a time and overall service was not great. Nice pub and garden but needs a lot of focus on service and overall experience
Staff were attentive and the pub was ideal for the party.
Was very pleased with quick service so we could get in our afternoon walk. Food was very. Soup tasty, sandwiches well filled.
Food was delicious. The staff where all so lovely! I will definitely be returning. No faults! Perfect evening. Highly recommend
Lovely friendly waitressing staff, very attentive and good sense of fun!
We all had a great time. I’ve also left you a 5* trip advisor review
Good Birthday lunch with my family, excellent service from friendly staff. Can’t wait to go in the summer and take advantage of the beer garden!!!
Thought alcoholic drinks was a little bit in the expensive side. Food was top notch and worth every penny. We always return as love the country feel to the pub and the garden is brilliant
Nice place, could do with a slightly bigger choice for food.
Appalling experience. I have had many fine meals in this, establishment but under this latest management I wouldn't eat here again. Honey roast carrots had barely seen the inside of a pot let alone been in an oven. Green and peas absolutely sodden where they had been swimming in water. Gravy was Brown in colour but just tasted of water. Yorkshire was Luke warm and the beef thin and chewy. Although booked in our table wasn't ready nor was it one ' would offer for dinning from. It was a small round pub table with one ordinary chair and one armchair. Not ideal for eating from and insufficient surface for our food. The waitress had poor listening skills.Vegetables were listed as greens peas honeyroast carrots and parsnip. My friend asked for no greens so she didn't get peas either. On polite request the waitress tried to confirm that she wanted greens. The third time she came all the way back from the pass ! Is a simple word like peas so easy to forget. I hope she is never let loose on a round of drinks. In future I will take myself off in the opposite direction and drive for the same distance. Pay an extra £2.00 for a meal of very high quality in an establishment that is truly gastro/fine dining and has never disappointed.
I have been coming to the crown for some time and this recent visit unfortunately was not up to the usual standard. We had a table booked for 4pm and on arrival told they were just getting table ready although it was quite clear there were no tables free in the whole pub. We were left standing there 10 minutes until I had to ask someone what was going on and she said the table was being prepared by the manager - this was not the case as still there were no vacant tables. I saw some people paying the bill at 4.15pm and then we were promptly sat down. Maybe more communication as to what was happening I.e they were just waiting for people to leave rather than leave us standing there. The food as usual was lovely and worth the wait however I ordered roast beef and had the 2 thinnest and smallest slices of beef I’ve ever had which is far from the nice portion we normally get. I feel we paid £14 for a delicious plate of vegetables as hardly any meat. My 2year old had more meat on her rosy than me and my partner did! We love this pub and I hope next time we come it’s a better experience.
Great quality food and warm, welcoming atmosphere with friendly customer service.
The menu is very limited, there needs to be more choices on all courses, the food we had was good but I thought the calamari starter was over priced for what it was,6 thin squid rings and a sauce, salad with it would have been nice. The main was good but the batter on the fish was a bit greasy but tasted ok.Would think twice about coming back unless the menu changes. The service was good and didn't have to wait too long for our food.
I gave a bigger tip than I normally do due to a very good service nothing was a problem,
Great food, lovely people and brilliant Friday night entertainment
First table to be served and three other tables got their food before us.
we would like to say a big thank you to Louise for her excellent customer service. The entire experience at the crown was first class. The chef had cooked the steak beautifully, and we all cleared our plates!!! We will be back. 😁 Thank you.
