About The Cross Keys Great Missenden
A wonderful 16th century pub in the quaint village of Great Missenden. Set in the Chiltern Hills this little gem offers great food, sourced from the best local suppliers and is the perfect setting to quench your thirst after exploring the historic village and the picturesque Misbourne Valley.Alongside good old classics like Seared Calves' Liver and our hearty Cross Keys Hand Made Pie, we also offer a selection of dishes made using the freshest seasonal produce with daily specials, mouthwatering Burgers and great Roasts on Sundays.
This is our second visit in a month and the food is fantastic, really tasty. Some different things on the menu as well as some classic pub dishes. Great service, staff are super friendly and helpful. Thanks, we will definitely be back!
Amazing service and food...highly recommended
we both agreed that a 12.5% service charge included was a bit steep. Waitress didn't seem very happy and didn't listen when we asked for a break between main and dessert. Food was lovely, nice to sit outside in te garden for our coffee.
Monday night so quieter which was lovely. Very nice staff and food excellent as usual.
Really good gluten free menu and gluten free beer avalable too
Very good quality food and service.
Went for Sunday lunch and it was great that food was served all afternoon which made for a relaxing visit.
We had a lovely meal and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a great atmosphere and they made the children feel comfortable and welcome. A great place for a great meal!
Great evening, lovely to be able to choose from a varied menu, beautifully presented food, exceptionally tasty and excellent service from all the staff. Well done.
Excellent all round experience..perfect.
Really amazing gluten free menu which made no concession on choice or taste. Lovely wine menu and whilst it was our first time here so we will be coming back to check on this, the service was so attentive but not pushy. The food was quite expensive which concerned us when we first sat down and looked over the menu, but we happily paid the bill after our meal as it was so delicious.
It was a thoroughly lovely evening. The staff went the extra mile to give my daughter and I what we needed.
LA lovely friendly pub with good food and and a nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit.
Roast beef was delicious, the fact it was sliced from a cooked joint as opposed to pre-sliced and heated up (like many pubs do) made such a difference, veg was cooked to perfection and the home made Yorkshire pudding was lovely!!! The pub has a lovely atmosphere and was busy which is always a good sign. Baby changing facilities upstairs rather than in the toilets which is also a plus in my opinion!!! 5 star!
The staff were very pleasant and the service was excellent. Lovely food too.
A lovely evening, great food, atmosphere and very good service.
we hope to return when next in the area
The quality of food was very good, with a decent choice on the main menu plus a range of specials too. Not keen on the application of a 12.5% 'optional' service charge across all food & drink, would prefer to exercise own discretion in this respect. The prices generally reflected the high quality, although the puddings were a little steep as compared to their portion size & standard. The bar area and outside space was very busy with a buzzing atmosphere, although much quieter as you would expect in the dining room. The decor in the dining area is a little dated, with wipe-clean 'leather' chairs, but the rest of the pub modern and tasteful. Overall, a very pleasant evening with good food, friendly/efficient service and certainly worth a visit for more than your average pub meal.
Met up with some old college friends for a lunch and a drink on Monday. Excellent food and reasonable prices,, very helpful service and overall a very pleasant experience.
We enjoyed a delicious lunchtime meal here on Saturday and would definately recommend The Cross Keys. The staff were friendly & attentive. The only minus point is that they add 12.5% service charge, which we generally don't agree with.
Waiting staff were very professional and very nice!
Food and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.
A very good meal. However, I object strongly to having a 12.5% service charge added to the bill. This is an annoying practice common in London but not in Bucks. It would make me think twice about returning to the Cross Keys.
I Am Coeliac so it is sometimes very difficult to find a restaurant that serves Gluten Free Food. The Cross Keys has an excellent Gluten Free Menu which has a very good choice. The food was very well prepared, well presented and a pleasure to eat.Can Recommend!.
