I booked the restaurant for 45 people on the 25th January for my 40th. Everything was great! Food was very good and it all came out within a very short period of time. All my friends and family really the quality of the food. All drinks went down really well, especially the cocktails! The staff were also great, very helpful and it felt like they were looking after us!
I ordered a prawn sandwich but received a stale roll full of mayo and two prawns!! some crisps and a selection of limp salad leaves. When I complained the waitress said she would inform kitchen. I then settled my bill and was told there would be no charge for our coffees. £5 for a plate of crisps (as that was all that was edible) was A VERY EXPENSIVE LUNCH
Excellent food, service and environment. Look forward to visiting again.
First time eating here but won't be the last. Excellent food, excellent service and reasonable prices too.
Nice mains but the desserts were not nice and had to be sent back, though only one was taken off the bill. Service was quite slow even though it wasn’t that busy.
Great restaurant. The staff are always really friendly and helpful, and the food and cocktails are consistently good. I tell friends and family about this place often :)
Enjoyable evening - food excellent
Better than average pub grub. Nice selection of ales and good value for money
good food but long delay on food for a reasonably empty restaurant. arrived at 7pm...
The lovely lady that look after us that night was amazing she went above beyond for us all . Definitely will be coming back again please pass on how grateful we was for all her hard work from start to finish
Really struggled to get responses back through both email and phone when organizing work's Christmas party. Fourth course of mince pies and crackers on the menu, no vegan mince pies provided despite having asked repeatedly for weeks prior to the meal. Most main courses were stone cold. No table decorations. Table was not ready until 18:20. 2 young ladies serving were slightly rude at times; this made me feel a burden and as though I couldn't approach staff to discuss the issues above. Cheesecake was delicious. Everything was well cooked. Guests enjoyed their experience. Would say that overall it was worth what we paid. Bar service was efficient. Was advised that the kitchen could only cater for 12 meals at a time so there would be delays due to there being 22 of us, however all meals did come out together. Apart from our vegan diner, all other special dietary requests were catered for. Food service was more organized than expected. Overall, probably would not make a large booking here again due to issues with communication which did not make it easy for me to organize.
A brilliant night! Thankyou so much - the food was amazing as always and the service was faultless!
Excellent meal and service
The restaurant did not appear to be mega busy so we were very surprised that the food took over an hour to appear and that was only after a prompt from us to a waitress- no mention of any problems from staff to keep us updated, so having to ask what was happening was not professional. There were many items on the menu not available- very disappointing. Soup was delicious but the rustic bread roll was tough and inedible. Mint sauce was requested to accompany the lamb shank and we had to request more as the portion offered was miniscule. Two drinks of soda (&lime), soda was flat & extra lime was requested to compensate. Other than the above, we enjoyed our evening.
We were told a 30min wait when ordering which was ok but it was closer to an hour to get starter then another 30mins for main. In addition the restaurant was cold to the point where some of our guests had to have meal in their coats. Food was of usual high quality when it arrived but amazed that there were no pizzas available (especially as my daughter is very picky and we were banking on them being available) We have been to the Crossing several times and up until now was one of our favourite places in Burton. It is quirky, different and food choice/quality has always been fantastic. Unfortuantely Saturdays visit will make us think twice next time we go out to eat.
Service extremely slow, especially when we had pre ordered. 45 minutes after starters and the mains still hadn’t arrived. We asked a member of staff who went to check, only to be told they weren’t aware we had finished our starters and our mains would be another 10 minutes. The lady dealing was very apologetic and explained what had happened. We had 3 young children with us who had finished their meals and were getting restless. After 15 minutes and still no mains, 2 members of the party left with the children. The mains came out about 10 minutes later, again with an apology. The food was served hot. The fish pie was very dry and was more like a bowl of mashed potato. Hardly any seafood in it. The burgers were nice as were the children’s fish and chips.
Fabulous service, fabulous food, great, friendly, welcoming pub which I'd definitely recommend We weren't rushed from the table once we had finished eating and the prices were reasonable as well as the portion sizes
Received a ‘invite’ due to a Birthday, so, as we were away over the weekend, we booked for Monday evening. We were seated in a lovely position, the waitress was VERY pleasant & asked immediately if we require drinks & left us with the menu. We chose pizzas & sides upon her return, with a slight alteration to the topping on one. They were only too happy to oblige & whilst it wasn’t the same waitress who served us again, the second waitress, who was equally well mannered, friendly & attentive. Although on completion, the bill was slightly wrong, the staff apologised & altered it without any issues, as a consequence, we shall visit again next Monday too, the pizzas were delicious & the ‘chef’s homemade chilli jam’ sensational... see you next week!
Thank you so much for looking after us all so well on Sunday. Our family rarely gets together as one and the atmosphere and setting was just right to allow us all to mingle. My only comment would be .. bring back the old style of Sunday Lunches you did, with the platters, they were better value for money and more fun. THANK YOU AGAIN
Fantastic service and excellent food. Staff are amazing every time I go in!
Excellent menu choices. Friendly efficient service and great value for money. We had a lovely evening and will be back soon.
Lovely and polite staff , food was delicious. Although short staffed , they remained attentive and friendly, cant fault there professionalism. Will be coming back .
Great food, great service
Upon arrival we were informed that several dishes were unavailable as they'd run out, this didn't leave a great deal to choose from and shouldn't have been allowed to happen in my opinion. Service bit all over the place, one waitress asked us to pay before we'd even eaten! Waited over an hour for our mains, once it did arrive it was tasty but we'd gone past it really. Didn't bother with dessert , just wanted to leave.
