About The Crossing
Contemporary pub dining and cask ale house.
Nice food and atmosphere.
Everyone enjoyed there good and all would eat there again. My second time and service very good.
Lovely food and great service.
Sorry to say service was extremely slow and all the main courses were cold on arrival .. they were also muddled up and my arf n arf had no beef. We left a tip because that’s what the British do but improvements need to be made.
Excellent all round
Lovely evening, my only concern was I struggled to find a starter I liked, I made do with a lovely pudding instead!
The food and drinks were exceptional but given that the dining area was empty, we felt the service was a little slow.
Lovely food good service
Food was very nice service was good only complaint that we had quite a wait for the food even though restaurant wasn't that busy understand that this may have been due to not enough staff in kitchen as we're advertising
food was amazing and was very impressed with the cost however it took nearly an hour for someone to take our food order then we had to wait a while for our food this meant we were in the restaurant for over 3 hours but on the whole was a lovely evening
We loved the unusual menu options - I had the goat curry & my husband had the pork crock-pot. Both meals did not disappoint. They were beautifully presented & flavoursome. We couldn’t fault the friendly & attentive staff either! We’ll definitely be coming back for more.
Lovely friendly waitress. Food delicious as always. Looking forward to the next visit!
The food was good, but only 3 out of the 4 meals came out at the same time. We were told that there was a problem with the 4th and it would arrive 10-15 minutes later. This wasn’t acceptable as my other 3 friends had practically. finished their meals when the last one came out. We were given an apology and free drinks, but I think all the meals should have been presented at once, as this wasn’t very sociable to eat alone.
An excellent gastropub in the heart of Burton upon Trent. History buffs may be interested to know that it is named after Worthington Brewery’s railway crossing which was once next to the pub. The site itself was once that of John Yeoman’s Brewery. The food is delicious, arrive hungry! A decent selection of ales, there is usually Bass, Blue Monkey and Dancing Duck beers on plus a few others. Always two real ciders. They do cocktails and gins. Comes recommended!
Great menu choice - something a little different from the usual pub fare.
Great cocktails and a nice food menu
Lovely staff and great food
Food was great when it arrived, we just felt the wait for food was quite a long time.
Another lovely meal.
Fabulous meal, very attentive staff. Definately will return.
Lovely meal as always few of my friends not been before very impressed
Been a few times great food and great service each time thanks
Not enough choice on the Sunday menu
Booking was set for 8 and it was ready on time, we were shown to our table and our drinks order was taken. When our wine was brought over our food order was taken we were told there was a wait for food as there was a table of 12 - however the food was in front of us in 25mins (respectful time anyway), and OMG it tasted amazing I don’t mind paying the money for food if I leave satisfied- it was beautiful the steak was cooked exactly how I asked!! The whole experience from start to finish was flawless the staff were so lovely and made our night perfect :) Definitely going back!!
