About The Crazy Bear Stadhampton - Thai Restaurant
The original Crazy Bear has been entertaining guests since its creation in 1993.
Abundant gardens, eclectic design, award winning dining and inventive facilities, within eighty acres of working farmland all contribute to its distinctive personality.
The Crazy Bear Stadhampton is a unique oasis in the countryside, and is the foundation for our Crazy Bear culture.
Both of our English and Thai restaurants have maintained two AA rosettes every year since opening. All of our meats are butchered at The Crazy Bear Farm Shop including Gloucestershire Old Spot Pork and Welsh Badger Face Lamb reared at The Crazy Bear Farm.
Underwhelming. I was expecting big things, felt let down as it was very expensive.
It was a very busy night but the hard working staff did a good job
We had a splendid Christmas Eve at the Crazy Bear. The service and food was superb and our waiter was extremely professional, polite. We will be returning.
Fantastic food alongside the 5 star service would revisit.
the design of rooms is very extravagant, very beautiful. reception staff was lovely and very helpful. however we felt rather ignored by restaurant staff during the dinner and the breakfast. Very basic breakfast included in the price of the room. Amazing Christmas decorations. Good food. Compare other 5 stars hotels it's overpriced, not a good value for money and service and facilities are rather 4 stars hotel. We had a good time though.
Festive decor fab - everyone attentive and felt COVID safe!
Food was good service was a little slow but no issue. The conference chairs we were sat on did not suit the venue and were little uncomfortable and one was broken.
We love this restaurant but felt it fell short this time. It took in excess of 30 minutes for our starter to arrive. After we finished our main we were asked if we wanted dessert, but would have only 5 minutes to eat it! We declined and on paying the bill given 2 minutes to vacate. Disappointed as it was the kitchen's fault for the late starter and not ours. We felt it fell short on this visit. There were also 2 'business' tables of 6 having thier Christmas meal. They all wandered around without face coverings on without any staff member telling them otherwise.
I enjoyed my experience at the Thai Restaurant. The food was excellent especially the duck courses. The only course I did not like was the dessert (I do not like custard desserts) and also ordered a celebration plate which I thought was a bit small for the price (just 2 chocolate ball sweets). But overall I think it was still good value for money and I would return to use another offer.
Don’t take a suite if there is a wedding on as you will be right above it, banging music till 11pm. Ordered rise verve and waited 30mins to be told they don’t have any, by then the starters were complete and still no drink. Another 15mins for a Pol Roger. The curtains in the bathroom 314 looked like somon3 had spat toothpaste down them. It was ok could be better. Oyster bloody Mary’s awesome.
Upon booking we weren’t notified about there being a time limit on our table. When it came to ordering our desert we were told there was no time to eat it at the table and we had to move to the bar. We were taken to the bar where we were told it was full and they didn’t know we were coming. We waited in the cold and was then shown a table which was extremely close to another table. We ate our desert in an awkward setting. It felt rushed and sadly put a dampener on the evening.
We had a Thai meal last night with family of 4 . Service was very poor waiting long stretches of time for drinks least 30 minutes. Food sadly was okay. We paid for the 12 place setting but only received 9 of two dishes the same . It was a shame because this was our last meal out before Christmas as in tier 4 ☹️
Always a pleasure xx
Excellent, from start to finish..just loved it All.
I ate in the Thai restaurant and the food was delicious. I was impressed with the chef and sommelier glasses and the standard of crockery. However, the service was inattentive and I found your manager, Jo in particular, to be abrasive and quite unfriendly. Her attitude was poor, her ‘acting’ skills were non existent and she seemed scripted and unauthentic.
Stephane was excellent friendly and brilliant service
Delicious food and great service, the bill at the end was still a bit of a shock!
We enjoyed the evening very much. The arrangement of the lounge and dining room was welcoming and safe. Thank you so much.
Excellent service, especially from the waiter who is half French. The food was plentiful and delicious. We spent a fabulous couple of hours there and will definitely be returning.
Really good service, good food and good atmosphere. The only thing I would suggest for a change is can you get one of those clip on lights attached to the menu - I noticed quite a few of the tables took their phones out to be able to read the menu.
We had a wonderful lunch with you topped off with a special birthday wish to my wife. For a tasting menu, the quantity of food far exceeded our expectations and was so tasty!
Amazing service, staff were excellent! The only thing that could have been better was the breakfast.
We had a lovely stay, beautiful room and surroundings. The food was a bit hit and miss with our evening meal. My husbands meal was full of flavour whereas mine looked stunning but was very bland and dissappointing. Also would have been nice to have a room service menu in the room. Just a paper menu that could be thrown away (because of covid) would have suffised, as when I called reception to ask for some light snacks, no options were mentioned and it was only that we had seen nuts and Olives in the bar, that we asked for some of those.
Big fan of the Thai restaurant, I took my son this time to try to impress him with your food. It just didn’t happen this time.
