About The Crazy Bear Stadhampton - English Restaurant
The original Crazy Bear has been entertaining guests since its creation in 1993.
Abundant gardens, eclectic design, award winning dining and inventive facilities, within eighty acres of working farmland all contribute to its distinctive personality.
The Crazy Bear Stadhampton is a unique oasis in the countryside, and is the foundation for our Crazy Bear culture.
All of our meats are butchered at The Crazy Bear Farm Shop, including Gloucestershire Old Spot Pork and Welsh Badger Face Lamb reared at The Crazy Bear Farm.
Service was amazing up until desert where seemed to then be forgotten! It took a little over half an hour for our desert to arrive and, despite the table being clearly finished, we had to grab someone attention to order teas and coffees and then a 20 minute wait for them to arrive. Slightly deflating finish to the meal but otherwise the food was excellent, beautifully presented (as always), the atmosphere was perfect and the whole site decorated with the usual stunning flare. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. We feel so privileged to have been able to dine with you for my son’s 18th birthday during these difficult times .
Event was cancelled. So, shouldn’t of received this. But, on a positive note, the refund was handled promptly & professionally. I was assured the money would be in my account shortly. If it is, I’d have no hesitation recommending CB to my friends etc. Victor
Wonderful meal for our special occasion.
Lovely meal, amazing food and great experience.
Expensive evening but food and service was Amazing! Great meal out for that very special occasion. Many thanks we will be back
Great as always! Looking forward to being back in the new year. I hope everyone in the team had a wonderful Christmas and 2021 brings good fortune to all.
I just recommended to a couple of friends that arrived to the UK. You are my favourite place to go and have a fancy night. Food, drinks and service always outstanding! My favourite place ❤️
Beautiful place, great ambience
Lovely food Great service Highly recommend
We booked the crazy bear for my mums birthday we had a lovely time and the food was delicious but a bit cold. The only downfall was the service we had to wait a long time for drinks despite the restaurant being almost empty and the food came out at different times meaning 3 of us had cold food by the time the last meal arrived which was disappointing, nevertheless we had a nice time.
Really disappointed! We had been given a premium afternoon tea experience as a gift which included champagne. We ordered an extra plate of sandwiches and was charged £20 with an inclusive tip! So we would’ve had to pay £33. I asked for the tip to be removed but still that’s ridiculous! I’ve had afternoon tea at the Ritz and they would’ve been cheaper with a better atmosphere and service with no extra charges! What a shame as I’d heard so much about how decadent and wonderful crazy bear would be and it was average and overpriced.
It was my 39th whilst we stay here and was made special by them thank you
Excellent food, drinks, atmosphere. We joked. Can we find anything wrong? No 😀
It was our first time here we waited outside for over 5 mins and no one was there to greet us Our server did not even ask us if we needed anything or if our meal was good unless I said something Seems like they were short staff had to wait ages to get service My husband ordered lamb which was full of fat and jelly bits and the meal was cold I loved the atmosphere and ambience but the service and food we had was a total let down. And top of that we had to pay service charge which was cheeky for a crap service
Good food however hugely disappointed with the service. Food was slow & staggered, drinks were slow, even waiting for the bill and change took a long time.
Service was poor, booked the Thai restaurant at 4:30 abs their system had us down at a different time and different restaurant.
Lovely afternoon tea and great venue. Highly recommend
Beautiful Sunday lunch in perfect setting
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the staff where brilliant, however I was disappointed with some of the portion sizes. We visited using a Groupon voucher and had the seven course dinner so I’m unsure if they ‘scaled back’ the menu due to this. The food was beautiful but we felt like small things let it down for value. Maybe two scallops instead of one and three cheeses instead of one for it to be deemed as a ‘cheese board’. Like I say thankfully I used a Groupon as I wouldn’t have been happy if I’d paid the full price but it did leave me wondering if this effected it. Many thanks.
Never fails to impress...
Absolutely shocking service, our starters arrived before our drinks. We had to catch the attention of the waiting staff when we wanted to order (which was then forgotten!) There was a wedding party of 15 in an adjacent room...One can only imagine how we would have been treated it it were more! As for the food... The pretty Christmas lights and baubles distracted us from the below average offerings.
The food was great, the servers were very polite but the rate of the service was below standard. Our drinks took a long time, we had to ask multiple times for everything, we would have drunk and spent a lot more if the staff had a lower work load so that they could be more attentive.
Very disappointed even though we enjoyed the food we ordered we was not offered any of the Xmas menus I viewed on line. Very limited staters and mains. Waited 40 mins in between courses felt the waiter didn’t even want to be there. Noticed lots of tables with more than a couple on so clearly them and your restaurant not adhering to tier 2 rules. Won’t be returning or will recommend
Food was excellent but had to wait 45 mins between courses for a 7 course meal. Clearly too many tables for the staff to handle but when it's an expensive dinner, I would expect much better. Had to complain, otherwise we'd still be there now!!
Food and drink was amazing, service time was very slow, I had to ask for a menu 15mins after sitting down
