About The Crabtree
The Crabtree is a family run public house, located in the beautiful Sussex countryside south of Horsham.
We serve great local, seasonal food, organic wines and fabulous real ales in warm and welcoming surroundings.
The service was superb, with great value for money. The food was lovely although the mussels and gravy with the roast was too salty however my husband said the soup was delicious.
We had a family lunch here the day before our wedding and it was wonderful! We've visited a few times before and even with a large booking we always receive great food and excellent service. Would highly recommend :)
We had a fabulous lunch. We ate later than planned due to a problem with the online booking system but once there both the staff and level of service we received were really good and the food was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Exceptional service, lovely pub and staff. Will be returning!
Manager was very accommodating for my partner and I whilst dining with our new born. Service was great, food was excellent
A great lunch, thank you.
Great food and service, good value for money. No-one rushes you.
Had a great meal with friends, good company with greatb food & wine, thank you. We'll be back over Christmas with our sons & their families.
Great for a Sunday roast. Food was delicious, service friendly - it was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. We'll be back.
Fabulous Sunday lunch. The food was probably the best roast I have had for a long time and the staff were all lovely. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Excellent Italian Merlot!
A return visit to The Crabtree didn't disappoint: the food was fabulous (we ate from the Lunch Menu), the setting was wonderful particularly as it was a gorgeous sunny day, the G&Ts were lip-smacking, and the bill was extremely modest. The only thing that did let the whole experience down was the table service which seemed stretched to say the least - we waited a while for our plates to be taken and next course to be served...however the day was saved by the serving of the most stupendous Apple Crumble I have ever tasted!!! Will definitely be going back...
Food great but the service was incredibly slow. 45 minutes before our order was taken and we felt we were constantly chasing up the waitress as nice as she was. Sadly rushed in the end and had been there 2.45 hrs!!
A Very nice family Sunday Roast
Very welcoming and delicious food
Welcoming and attentive service even though we ate lunch outside. Food was amazing, thank you.
Great food, lovely staff.
Perfect country pub. Beautiful location, stylish decor, outstanding food, exceptional service.
Lovely food, good wine, good service and a very friendly welcome from the owner. It was a little quiet at lunchtime and perhaps a little music in the bar may have helped the ambiance?
Excellent Sunday lunch. Both meals were superb. The produce locally sourced and very well presented. Staff very friendly. Will be back.
Food was very good and the staff were excellent.
Run out of two dishes early in the day. Forgotten about and left for lengthy amounts of time
Service was very slow. Table next to us had their order lost and we waited 20 mins for the waitress to come back to take our dessert order. I paid the bill at the bar rather than wait for the waitress to be free to bring it to the table - more staff needed at busy periods. Food was excellent, service let the experience down though.
First time. Enjoyed it. Being critical the service was very slow, and the beef over cooked but still had a nice time
Wasn’t as good as last time I went. Soup was lovely. Mains not bad. Sister had the bread and butter pudding, bit dry. Coffee too strong. Service a little slow. Was told it was very tight for bookings but actually was reasonably empty although I think there had been some late cancellations but meant others in our party couldn’t attend as only heard 50 mins prior that they could fit us all in.
Overall the Crabtree was good. I did have to ask three times for some water and as I am pregnant there’s not a huge amount of other things I can drink! The food was good though and decent portions. Although the scotch egg was tasty but overpriced. We did get attacked by wasps in the garden though and think there may be a wasp nest nearby as I’ve never seen so many. Would go back though.
