About The Crab & Lobster
Nestling on the banks of Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve the 350 year old Crab & Lobster has been renovated creating one of the most stunning hideaways on the South Coast. Just a ten-minute drive from Chichester and its cultural, architectural and retail charms, at the Crab & Lobster exceptional service and relaxed style await you.
The restaurant successfully combines excellent service and presentation, stylish décor and friendly ambience with food of the highest quality.
Where possible, the menu is sourced from local producers – Selsey fishermen and neighbouring dairy farmers.
With an adventurous emphasis on fresh fish and of course crab and lobster! There are also traditional English and Mediterranean dishes to tempt the taste buds and thrill the palate.
A fantastic lunch in their very lovely garden. Highly recommended.
fabulous lunch, wonderful fish
Cheerful staff, great food, lovely ambience
Excellent food. Fab service and atmosphere too
Perfect lunch number 4 since reopening - fabulous experience all round:)
Had an absolutely beautiful dining experience here on Friday for my birthday. The food was fantastic (as usual) and the service was attentive without being obvious. I can’t wait to come back! Thank you to everyone! Wendy & Ivor Lacey
It was absolutely splendid to be able to eat out again - and the Crab and Lobster did not disappoint! Staff were friendly and engaged and made us feel very welcome indeed! The food and service was as excellent as ever! Thank you!
Fantastic lunch al fresco on the one sunny day this week! Wonderful food and service. Thank you!
Simply excellent all round
An amazing experience. Will certainly return.
We enjoyed our visit very much indeed. Our food was absolutely first class and so was the service. We will most definitely return.
We enjoyed our anniversary there and will definitely go back . Great staff great food great atmosphere they really looked after us 😊
We had a lovely lunch despite being the weather being v windy and a little on the cold side but there were plenty of blankets and heaters to keep us warm, all the staff were really attentive and the food was beautiful and tasty, thank you
Booked a lunch table in the garden for 4,with friends. We had eaten at the Crab and Lobster before, enjoyed the meal but recognised it was a bit pricier than other restaurants. We didn't want to spend too much since we knew we wouldn't linger outside in the cold wind but were attracted by the promise of 2 courses for £23.50 or 3 for £28.50 and the sample menu ont the website looked good. On arrival, the manager (?) brazenly told us that there was no Set Lunch Menu on offer. There followed a rambling excuse with the justification that it would take too long and be too expensive to change the web page and it was only for 5 weeks, so a temporary issue and that was that. I found his attitude arrogant and patronising. However, we were with friends so didn't make too much fuss, but in my book if you advertise a product at a price, you sell it at that price. Don't entice people in to your restaurant under false pretences. 5 days later the set lunch is still being advertised. As to the food, it was OK, presentation was good, but nothing remarkable. My pan fried trout came with baby new potatoes that tasted as though they had been pre-cooked and reheated. My tropical meringue was so hard that it shattered and a piece flew off the plate when i applied enough pressure to break a piece off. The deconstructed lemon meringue pie gained nothing from the deconstruction and the orange treacle tart was a little bland. The bill had 10% service charge added, as is common, but there was also space on the bill for a tip to be added. The waitresses were pleasant so we paid the service charge and Im sure someone will explain to me the subtle difference between a service charge and a tip. So not likely to rush back to the C and L in a hurry, despite its idyllic location.
A lovely lunchtime treat . Lucky with the weather we had a very tasty meal here . Fish soup which was divine and then I had the lobster which went down very well . Service was so friendly and attentive . Can’t wait to return one day
Returned for our 3rd visit - excellent all round. If we lived nearer we would be regulars!
Excellent meal and service- as always. Cosy rugs helped us on a changeable day whilst dining and chatting outside. We were treated with sunshine mid me too. Fantastic treat for us and some precious friends. Thank you.
Please sort the weather next time, can’t believe it rained. !
We have a lovely lunch outside on the patio - can't fault any aspect of it
Delicious food, great service, beautiful setting. After finishing our food wasn’t rushed to vacate table. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon!
Beautiful food! Fabulous setting and wonderful service! Will be back! Thanks so much
The best pub in the South of England! Wonderful friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble for any of them. We had the most delicious Anniversary lunch. Thank you to all the team at The Crab & Lobster .. we'll be back very soon!
Couldn't fault it - a truly delicious meal and first class friendly service. Many thanks
Fabulous food & service, we'll be back.
Everything was very good indeed. Great menu choices, well prepared, excellent cooking and wonderful service. So impressed with the wine list. A little pricey but great for a birthday lunch. Will definitely return and already recommended to friends
