Thank you team Cornish Arms! Wonderful! Perfect! Fantastic! We had your charming staff member we have had on the last few occasions and he made us feel so welcome. So relaxed! Best mackerel pate ever on specials! Thank you and we just got in pre tier 3! See you again 2021 love from Bude x
It was uncomfortably cold in the restaurant, to the point we put our coats on. The food was good but not worth the money. £15 for 2 sausage and mash! Shame as been there a few times and was disappointed, not sure we will return
The restaurant was very chilly despite the fire Food was underwhelming
We had such a wonderful meal at The Cornish Arms last night, the atmosphere was brilliant, food excellent and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive. Definitely recommend a visit.
Very good lunch with friendly service. We were seated in the big conservatory which was a bit cold in December, but we understand that this was necessary for social distancing.
Love the back room with vaulted ceiling - staff were so friendly and the chef was flexible as allowed us to stray off specific Sunday menu. Great atmosphere despite depleted numbers through Covid - a testament to the cheery staff and excellent environment.
Really impressed with the Sunday lunch menu! Thought it would just be traditional roast dinner but there was a great variety of options including 2 curries. Top class meal, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Our waiter was charming with the kids
All the staff we encountered were excellent, doing a great job in these difficult times. I felt safe and well looked after. The food, as always, was delicious. I will be back, current circumstances permitting. Toilets were immaculate, too.
We always love the Cornish Arms, it’s a walk across the field from our home in Higher Harlyn and it’s our favourite!
Waiter was excellent... very attentive and a superb ambassador for your company.
Unfortunately the kitchen got my daughters order wrong. It was correct on the bill but the wrong plate of food came out. We mentioned it right away and although we had an apology, there was little done to rectify it. Granted, I did say my daughter (only 5 years old) would eat what came out - after all, she’s not fussy and she did really enjoy it, I found the lack of eagerness to fix the error a little disappointing. That aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be returning.
The food was tepid , plate luke warm. The beef was cooked nicely ( not over done) but the parsnips had no crispy or seasoned outside. Brown in colour but the same boring texture through every parsnip. The red cabbage has a strong flavour of orange that didn’t complement the beef. Gravy was warm and had no flavour. Sorry. This wasn’t a good roast at all. Service prompt and COVID rules followed. Much better than the usual rammed seating and over crowding but I won’t be back for roast lunch again
Terrible experience Far too expensive for what we were given Food basic Experience renting on Rick steins name...awful. Will never go any of f his restaurants again
Wonderful establishment great food and catered for my step daughter who has special needs, also dog friendly which is amazing!
The best Sunday lunch around
Very welcoming efficient and accommodating in these Covid times.
Lovely Sunday roast with a cosy atmosphere
Great Sunday roast dinner. Delivered what was promised. Really enjoyed :)
An excellent meal with superb service. Wonderful. Thank you!
WE LOVED THE MEAL.but we would have liked well-cooked vegetables, not al dente. as we both hate al dente. The beef tasted nice but looked like it had been cut on a machine? We much prefer hand-cut meat. even Toby carvery hand-cut their meat and the vegatable are all well cooked. The roast potatos were some of the best we have ever tasted. As stated at the beginning we enjoyed the meal and left the veg that was hard. And we would come again
Lovely Sunday lunch!
Great professional and friendly service, great food. Laura was fantastic
Disappointed - the mackerel salad starter was inedible - I like salt but this dish was so salty you couldn’t taste the raw onion let alone the mackerel - when the plates collected the waitress did offer me another but to be honest everyone else had eaten. The other starters were fine. Main dishes, lovely moules, and the steak was delicious but the salad was inedible once again due to the amount on salt on the green leaf. Similarly my wife poured the salt off he steak pie which looked like it had been snowed on. I appreciate chefs talk about seasoning and I like my salt but the amount of salt used made it impossible to either eat or taste the other ingredients. I expected more from a Rick Stein restaurant and am unlikely to return. Paul
A huge thank you to the lovely waitress who went above and beyond to make sure that the dining experience of our youngest son was a great one. Incredibly kind and exceptionally observant of you. Thank you.
